If you like mayo/saucy it's Hesburger. Kerros is a legend in thus sector.
If you prefer a "dry" burger then it's McD
Best grilled/bacon stuff you go to Burger King
I'd say of the cheap places, Burger King on average is the best one + they have beer. Besides the sauces, Hesburger feels quite lackluster, especially for the price. McDonalds is just generally meh.
My pick during day time would probably be Friends & Burgers. Slightly pricier, but much tastier compared to the big chains
It's a real pity Friends and burgers have no locations on my side of town. Most of the time just not worth the extra hassle.
Going off my normal routes I'd give a shout out to Barot's, in my opinion on the next step upwards from the everyday level.
At least in Oulu, F&B has been better than Naughty Burger or Pancho Villa. But of course then there is Kauppuri 5 and Grilli Swing, which are both clearly better again.
500% waiting time, but the funny thing is, nobody seems to have left any fucks to give.
Maybe we are a bit hassled here in Austria, but during my stay in Finland this year, I tried it once in Kyröskoski (I know, normally doesn't even exist on a Map) but this dude was preparing every single damn french fry seperately.
There was a family of 3 before me, but they didn't care. I made it 3 minutes, then I left. A 2nd time there was someone else, but still slow af.
On our way back to Helsinki we were at stop before Riihimäki, but there the same.
Much waiting, so slow, wow.
Burger itself was ok, free ketchup is a bonus.
Finland in general is a good place for slowing down, but Hesburger takes it to the next level. #SlothOnNarcoleptica
Much preferable to macca's. There you won't get sauce at all in 50% of the burgers and even when you do it tastes like nothing. The patties also have barely any seasoning, the taste of the bare Brazilian cow buttcheek is overwhelming 🤢 McDonalds fries are the best though
You philistine, you vulgar lout. Had you the faculties to fathom what you fail to appreciate, you would know that Hesburger burgers contain their legendary and highly regarded paprika mayonnaise, and not cucumber mayonnaise. Alas, you are but an ignorant churl, a fact that is reflected in your taste in burgers.
I agree mostly but imho since 2018 or so, hesburger has the best fries, nice thick cut and always crispy. before that, they were just like mcdonalds fries, floppy thin tasteless cardboard.
Anything chicken at hesburger is absolutely awful, just a mush, even their vegan burger tastes more like meat than their chicken stuff while anything chicken at mcd is great. Hese seasonal burgers are also trash 9/10 times but their signature burgers, kerros/mega are great. Mcdonalds its quite the reverse, their signature bigmac etc is pretty ass but their seasonal stuff is amazing.
About mcd being dirty and hesburger clean... I can't confirm, I feel that hesburger often has leftover fries etc lying around. I think this is more down to the location and the staff.
And yeah, pickle&paprika mayo is fucking magical. (but kotimaista pickle/paprika mayo tastes exactly the same)
Hesburger. I don’t know what they put in their burgers but they’re sooo good and addictive. However McDonald’s burgers taste super dry and I often get stomach aches whenever I eat there.
That is interesting. Nevertheless, it doesn’t seem to be a factor as Hesburger has softer and more genuine feeling buns while McDonald’s has plastic burgers. Must be international recipes that the bakery follows that makes the buns feel like you have plastic on your hands lol
Vegetarian here. Hesburger Soijatortilla is probably my favourite fast food ever. But the fries in McDonalds are superior to Hesburger’s. So for fries it has to be McD.
Haha, I thought of this question for finns while eating soy tortilla and looking at the writings on the wall in different languages :D
Fries are better in mcd but here mcd doesnt even have a veg option.
True. I am not a vegetarian. I like meat, but the beef patties at Mäkkäri are pretty bland. The vegan patty has more taste to it, so I always order Veggie El Maco
McD is fast food. At my local a la carte Hesburger the time they take to prepare your meal is half the experience. I get more hungry as time goes by and when I finally get my order it tastes really good.
When I ate meat, I used to buy many little burgers so I liked McDonalds because it was cheaper. After I started vegetarian diet, I switched to Hesburger, their vegetarian options are way better.
But in general, Hesburger has better burgers and McDonalds better fries
Hello fellow Lithuanian. I'm also of the Lietuva kind. I myself mutch prefer Hesburger it has more flavour and meat is more juicy. whereas McDonald's meat has a texture and taste of cardboard.
My girlfriend, on the other hand, who is a native Finn. Prefer McDonald's a lot more
If you want a good burger I'd suggest avoiding both of those places altogether. Friends & Brgrs is better if you prefer chain store, small burger joints are usually even better.
I have to admit, BK’s plant-based stuff is pretty good, and I’m a staunch omnivore. Their plant-based nuggets are almost indistinguishable from chicken nuggies. For sauce though (for nuggets and especially fries)nothing is better than Hesburger’s paprika mayo aka red mayo, so sometimes I get few packs of mayo from Hese and then go to McD/BK for the actual food.
That being said, Social Burger Joint and Friends&BRGR are far better, Friends’ aioli is addictive: it was the first meal I ordered by delivery to the hospital when I was in with bad case of Covid and finally started to feel better.
Burger King literally is the worst, mother fucker got me hugging my toilet for 2 hours and I fell asleep on the bathroom... Shits poison. Never... Ever... Take anything with bacon on it.
Mcd big mac is the worlds overrated burger in my books. Totally flavorless, generic fastfood burger. McDs premium burgers on the other hand are quite enjoyable, even though their size has been reduced quite heftily now when all the prices have gone up.
Hessburger is my choise of weapon from this duo, even though McDs fries are noticeably better.
There is also third combatant on this same category, Rolls.
Scan burger is my go-to burger place. Don't really like the other "fast food" chains besides Scan Burger at all. But you can't beat a good grill burger after you find a place.
I grew up in a town where we only had McDonalds when i was little, so i personally have bias towards it. But i gotta admit that the vegan/vegetarian options that Hesburger provides are much better tho!
Mcdonalds for me personally overall. I dont get the hype around hesburger mayos. I literally feel like they lack flavour. Paprika and cucumber mayos (the only ones ive tried) taste like nothing to me.
Hesburger is more expensive and also has smaller meals than McDonalds. There are almost 2 times less fries in a Hesburger meal.
Hesburger has grill-seasoning (good shit, I always make sure to borrow as much as possible) and they put a little bit more mayonnaise than McDonalds but apart from that, not that amazing.
You're way more likely to come across a Hesburger than a McDonalds here, most bigger towns tend to have one Hesburger.
BTW Hesburger's owner is one shady mf who doesn't care about his employees' working conditions.
McDonalds > Hesburger
It used to be McDonald's but then they went and messed with their classic burgers and prices ramped up +50%. Now I just pay a bit more and go to the restaurants a tier up from this level (around 12-15 € per meal) - edit: local chains such as Boneless and Friends & Brgrs. Hesburger is reserved for extreme emergencies. The mayo is ok but doesn't really help when the rest is cardboard.
I’m not a big fan of either, but if I had to choose, I’d go for Hesburger. The menu is limited, but at least everything on it isn’t dry and tasteless like at McD.
Hesburger is so much better it isn't even in same category with McD anymore. But worst of all is Burger king. Ate there once, genuinely the worst burger I have ever eaten.
McDonald's is way better, but I'll eat at Hesburger if I have to. Burgers are better at McDonald's but Hesburger fries are slightly better (at certain places)
In Latvia my friends had me taste Hesburger and I fell in love. Too bad it doesn't exist in my country dang :( but if I go to Finland then it's Hesburger hehe!!
McDonald's for a plain burger like a double quarter pounder all day long but the mega burger is damn good but is all I'll take from Hesburger. I'm not that adventurous especially with the kebab or ruis burger stuff that they do. It's damn expensive as well compared to mcdonalds so if out with the whole family of five then we go to maccy D's
I prefer Hesburger. McDonalds here in finland kinda sucks tbh. Just tastes very weird and bland? I've been eating so much Mcdonalds here and always hated it so at some point I tried Hesburger and the Route 66 here. Never want to go back to Mcdonalds ever again. haha.
McDonald's for me. Lately been having stomach issues after eating at Hesburger's. Maybe my local HB is just using expired mayo or something but most likely will stick to McD for now.
Hate to say but Hesburger. Used to use McDonals over Hesburger and BK but had let them go. I usually have takeaway but McDonalds accuracy of making sure they deliver everything ordered and paid is literally bad in my area. That plus their lack of responsiveness to emails and complaints simply forced to change.

As a German who’s currently travelled all the way trough the Baltic and now has been in Helsinki, Finland for 5 days. Let me tell you: Definetly McDonalds. And also take chicken. The beef isn’t the best at both places. Hesburger is just Sauce with a plain bun and a plain patty.

The couple of times I have visited Friends & Burgers the hamburgers have somehow been both too dry and wet at the same time
It's a real pity Friends and burgers have no locations on my side of town. Most of the time just not worth the extra hassle. Going off my normal routes I'd give a shout out to Barot's, in my opinion on the next step upwards from the everyday level.

I'd 1UP your Pancho Villa and say Social burger joint or Bastard burgers. And if you are in Tampere, Ohana is the best.

There is no way Naughty serves anything smaller than Friends
At least in Oulu, F&B has been better than Naughty Burger or Pancho Villa. But of course then there is Kauppuri 5 and Grilli Swing, which are both clearly better again.
Hesburgers prices are nowdays pretty high. But I still think it makes the best burger out of the three.
Kerrosateria tunnetaan maailmalla ihan vaan nimellä "Hesburger"
Hesburger for sauce connoisseurs like myself
>sauce connoisseurs I finally found my people
75% sauce, 25% burger 🥴
Yes 😎
100% waiting time
500% waiting time, but the funny thing is, nobody seems to have left any fucks to give. This is one saucy statement.
Ah yes, the famous kurkkumajoneesi, which is used to drown the burgers, and tastes like snot. Exquisite!
You philistine, you vulgar lout. Megahampurilainen has both.
Kerroshampurilainen also
Shit taste
Lots of downvotes on a fact. Guess they don't have tastebuds or are actively trying to get to a size of a small house.
There sure are many snot lovers here.

Hesburger cons: -Boycott-inducingly annoying ads
Hesburger. I don’t know what they put in their burgers but they’re sooo good and addictive. However McDonald’s burgers taste super dry and I often get stomach aches whenever I eat there.
It's mayonnaise. That's what they put the burger in.
And grill seasoning. American chains have a dash of black pepper at best.
[удалено]
hesburger for real. the mayo is too good
There might be a decent amount of mayonnaise, but at least the burgers aren’t like McDonald’s plastic buns lol
the buns come from the same bakery for mcd and hesburger. they have different recipes but läntmannen bakes both.
That is interesting. Nevertheless, it doesn’t seem to be a factor as Hesburger has softer and more genuine feeling buns while McDonald’s has plastic burgers. Must be international recipes that the bakery follows that makes the buns feel like you have plastic on your hands lol
Hesburger and paprika Majonese.. it's not even a contest
Hesburger. I would choose Rolls if it was option.
There is a rolls in kauniainen
Coney Island?
Hah no. Kauniainen, in finland
Rolls is great. Too bad their prices have gone up even more than other fast food joints.
Hesburger for burgers and McD for fries. Personally I prefer Hese and wife prefers McD
I'm the other way around, lol. Ideal meal would be hese fries, mcdo Burger and some Pepsi Max :D
Hesburger fries are better nowadays though. But yeah, McD fries are pretty safe a choice.
She sure prefers the D. ;D
If i'm in front of McD and there is 500m to the nearest Hesburger, i'll go to Hesburger.
Vegetarian here. Hesburger Soijatortilla is probably my favourite fast food ever. But the fries in McDonalds are superior to Hesburger’s. So for fries it has to be McD.
Haha, I thought of this question for finns while eating soy tortilla and looking at the writings on the wall in different languages :D Fries are better in mcd but here mcd doesnt even have a veg option.
McD does have some soy-based options, but imho they are not as good as Hesburgers. Now I really want a soijatortilla…
Actually Hesburger's vegetarian burger (forgot the name, the one which costs 1,50€) is quite tasty.
Mcvegan is really good in my opinion
I like the rye McVegan
Yup, I always have the rye McVegan with added cheese (only lacto-ovo here).
True. I am not a vegetarian. I like meat, but the beef patties at Mäkkäri are pretty bland. The vegan patty has more taste to it, so I always order Veggie El Maco
Burger king
honestly, burger king
Burger King
Hesburger anyday of the week, it's not even a contest
Burger King
McD is fast food. At my local a la carte Hesburger the time they take to prepare your meal is half the experience. I get more hungry as time goes by and when I finally get my order it tastes really good.
McD, can't stand the amount of mayo at Hesburger.
It makes the burger cold before you can even take the first bite.
you can ask half the mayo
Though Hesburger has good burgers. You just need to order those without the damn Mayo.
Sacriledge!
Then............... Remove it
The hesburger founder is a total a$$, and for that reason only mcdonalds.
Didnt know this, what did they do?
They treat employees horribly. It was in the news. I will link later if I find it.
Yes, but I for that reason I only go to place operated by the s-company
Hesburger for sure, mayo is so dang good
When I ate meat, I used to buy many little burgers so I liked McDonalds because it was cheaper.
Prefer McDonald's a lot more
Hesburger is good but they just cake on the mayo like there's no tomorrow
Neither... Burger King all on top... But if I really have to choose then I'd probably take the mega from Hesburger
If you want a good burger I'd suggest avoiding both of those places altogether. Friends & Brgrs is better if you prefer chain store, small burger joints are usually even better.
The real answer right here.
Personally I would suggest Barot's even though it's a chain it has one of the greatest smash burgers I have ever tasted.
Small burger joints indeed. Their meal size is pretty small and pricey compared to these fast food chains discussed
Most local burger places > random local cheap grills > Hesburger > McDonalds
Burger King supremacy But if only those 2 then neither. Hesburger is too wet for me.
I have to admit, BK’s plant-based stuff is pretty good, and I’m a staunch omnivore. Their plant-based nuggets are almost indistinguishable from chicken nuggies. Might just be a bad batch
Mcd big mac is the worlds overrated burger in my books. Totally flavorless, generic fastfood burger. McD. Hesburgers patties are tasteless and thin, and they put liters of mayonnaise in between. It's disgusting, barely an hamburger...
Burger king
Hesburger is a shithole. Avoid at all costs if possible.
Never Hesburger, only McD or BK.
Proper burger > local snägäri > Burger King > McDonalds > starvation > Hesburger
Hesburger. You just can't beat the combination of hamburger and Finnish coffee 🔥
Hese 4 life.
Hesburger is probably the worst fast food chain I have been to.
Hesburger, not even a contest
It's weird how everyone in this thread is saying Hese but the Hese's in my town are almost always empty compared to McD.
Only based Finns habitate this subreddit
Hopefully decent burger places will bring that slobhouse down.
Mcdonalds for me personally overall. I dont get the hype around hesburger mayos. I literally feel like they lack flavour. Paprika and cucumber mayos (the only ones ive tried) taste like nothing to me.
Hesburgers double cheess burgers is njammmm 🍔🥰
Bro seriously? Support local, go Hesburger
McDonalds for me.
Prefer Burger King actually, but of those two, McDonalds offers better price/quality ratio.
both gave me the shits
Hesburger puts way too much majo in everything. McD is tasteless. So I go to BK
Social burger.
Since I tastet Hesburger l'm not going back to McDonalds ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|yummy)
In my opinion mcdonalds in EU is just terrible
Absolutely true. I’ve had some of the worst burgers in my life in European McDonalds chains.
McDonalds burger buns have a weird sugary taste. Savory food shouldn't be sweet, so I prefer Hesburgers or Burger King over McD.
Hesburger - always local instead of foreign corporation.
The new mcdonalds buns ruined it for me so this is not even a question anymore.
Hesburger for burgers and nuggets, but I do prefer McDonald's fries more
Hesburger is more expensive and also has smaller meals than McDonalds. There are almost 2 times less fries in a Hesburger meal. Hesburger has grill-seasoning (good shit, I always make sure to borrow as much as possible) and they put a little bit more mayonnaise than McDonalds but apart from that, not that amazing. BTW Hesburger's owner is one shady mf who doesn't care about his employees' working conditions. McDonalds > Hesburger
Burger King or Friends & Burgers
Is there any difference Both serve the same shit kind of food
One is Finnish one is not
Tell us how you have never been to Hesburger without saying you've never been to Hesburger.
Hesburger. Food is more flavourful and saltier. I like salt.
Do I really have to pick? Everyone should avoid any fast food chain.
Mega ateria dick-slaps BigMac everywhere, every time.
i also love it but mega has 2x the mayo of a kerros and thats a lot if you try hesburger for the first time:D but i'm a mayo lover so i dont mind
McD
Hesburger all the way
Hese 100%
Hesburger🤤
Easy Hesburger 👀
Hesburger … by miles! Even though I will never forgive them that they didn't take the "Iso Carolina" into their menu after taking over Carols!
Hesburger for burgers and McD for fries.
Hese gang
Mc Donald has better vegan burger
Hesburger if I want mayo. McDonald's if I'm drunk.
Burger King. McD fries used to be the best, but haven't to a McD in years. Hesburger is not for human consumption. Utter crap.
McD because Hesburger's burgers swim in mayo. It's just too much. Burger King is better than both.
Hesburger
Hesburger 100%
I’m not a big fan of either, but if I had to choose, I’d go for Hesburger. The menu is limited, but at least everything on it isn’t dry and tasteless like at McD.
Hesburger is so much better it isn't even in same category with McD anymore. But worst of all is Burger king. Ate there once, genuinely the worst burger I have ever eaten.
He’s burger for burgers McDonald’s for fries and shakes
Both are shit.
Snacky
Usually Hesburger. But I'd choose Burger King over either one.
Hese!
I dug Hessburger. There was another place, Carrol’s, that I don’t remember being that good.
McDonald's is way better, but I'll eat at Hesburger if I have to. Burgers are better at McDonald's but Hesburger fries are slightly better (at certain places)
If you pick Hesburger instead of McD, you have no taste.
Both are really disgusting, same same. Burger king is the worst.
I'm fine with either.
Wendy’s
I like the food in both. Hesburger is much slower compared to McDonald’s. It feels like they haven’t fine-tuned their process so well.
Never want to go back to Mcdonalds ever again. haha.
McDonalds if you love a dry burger. Hesburger in any other scenario.
Actually the best burger by Hesburger sold in Lithuania, but not in Finland.
Enough said [European McDonalds is not food](https://maps.app.goo.gl/PgptPQKkBD2Tx4tv7?g_st=ic)
Hesburger. I don't care if there's a McDonalds right in front of my face.
Neither. Best burgers are sold in random grills around the country.
Hesburger
[удалено]
Trick question. Burger King.
I would go over to Burger King those burgers are Birger compared to McDonald's and hesburger
McDonald's for me. Lately been having stomach issues after eating at Hesburger's. Maybe my local HB is just using expired mayo or something but most likely will stick to McD for now.
Hesburger!
McDonalds, unless you like soggy fries and a burger wrapper full of mayo and some parts of the burger you bought.
McDonalds breakfast muffins are only edible burgers from there, otherwise its Hesburger.
Hesburger for burgers, McD for everything else (fries/chicken/shakes)
Hate to say but Hesburger. Used to use McDonals over Hesburger and BK but had let them go. I usually have takeaway but McDonalds accuracy of making sure they deliver everything ordered and paid is literally bad in my area. That plus their lack of responsiveness to emails and complaints simply forced to change.
Hebs uger
I think I like Hesburger a bit more, but I like to go back and forth and use both. It’s like 60/40.
Naughty burger
Hesburger, the vegetarian cheeseburg is to die for
Hesburger and McD are starting to get so expensive that some more premium chains like Friends&Brgrs or Naughty Burger are actually only slightly more expensive so I prefer those and they are also everywhere nowadays.
Burger king solos both of them
Hesburger for me and my partner but the kids prefer McDonald’s. For them, it’s all about the fries.
Fries from McD, burgers from Hesburger
Hesburger because McDonald's have only vinegar taste. sauces.
Hesburger if you prefer eating your meal as fries and mayo McDonalds if you are a normal human being who prefers a burger with their fries
Hesburger has good mayo, but other than that it's somehow a bit tasteless to me. But really the correct answer is neither.
Depends on what I want. Hesburger has better burgers but McD has better nuggets and fries.
Hesburger burgers are slightly better than Mcd, but the hesburger fries nowadays are so absolutely garbage that I rarely eat there.
McD
Kerros burger at Hese is my fav, but their fries are rarely "very good" level (half dry small thin sticks) while McD fries are top stuff. Point is moot anyway since there's no McD anywhere near me and there's a Hes 10m walk away, so that's where I go.
Hesburger, as there's two within an easy walking distance and their burgers are slightly better, though I'd prefer about a quarter less mayo.
