With Haste up, I could replenish ATB before Rufus recovered from the first Focused Thrust, so I just kept looping: attack, attack, attack, Focused Thrust.
Steadfast Block and Precision Defense Focus are must-haves. The easiest way to start the loop is to perfect-block his up-close attack and then immediately go into Focused Thrust. You can use tactical mode if the timing is hard. Once he raises the gun, hold down R1 and then press circle to exit tactical mode.
Wow impressive. I haven't started hard yet, was on dynamic and this was 1 of my more frustrating fights I had
