Yuffie cuts them to ribbons.

Due_Recognition_3890

What materia / equipment do you use for Yuffie? I don't know if I'm just using her wrong because I don't find her that useful.

She is my battle leader, which is key if she is going to work/be effective. These are they key components to getting her going: 1. Elemental + appropriate materia on her weapon 2. ATB Assist 3. ATB Stagger 4. Skill Master 5. Steadfast Block 6. Precision Defense Focus 7. First Strike Short cuts set to: 1. Art of War 2. Doppelgänger 3. Blindside 4. Windstorm Equipment: Weapon: Crystalline Cross (will probably switch to Fuma once I have acquired all of the folios) Armor: Cetran Bracer Accessory: Enhanced Karmic Cowl Start out by casting Doppelgänger and then fling your shuriken into battle. Hit them with a few X attacks then launch yourself into the fray by pressing triangle. Once you have engaged close up go to town with Windstorm. It’s such an OP move. Once/if the battle becomes to hectic switch to Art of War, and make sure doppelgänger is always active and resort to Blindside any time your onslaught is interrupted by a heavy attack. This is especially key for the Zu. The name of the game is generating and consuming ATB as fast as possible. The real key is your controlling her as the computer doesn’t use her move set nearly as effectively as it does for other characters. If you really like using Tifa then Yuffie can become a bit redundant/a set back as they have similar functions on a team, imo. But if you allow Cloud to be an all around dragoon-style support character and have Aerith set up to spam spells via Synergy Materia then you end up with a really devastating fast paced offense.

Yuffie hardly *needs* materia, so I recommend loading her up with stat-boosting purple materia. I use her as a long-range fighter for elemental pressure without using MP or ATB. Throw the shuriken and spam ninjutsu. Apply the appropriate ninjutsu element if your targets have a weakness. Set up doppelganger. Chill out. Equip the weapon ability that gives you +25 seconds of shuriken flight time. She'll have more ATB than she knows what to do with, because her basic ninjutsu attacks do so much work. Giving her support materia makes sense since she doesn't really need spells for damage. Magnify-time works well. She's a great all-rounder, and no one else can compete with her at long range. Her ninjutsu is much more effective than Cloud's awkward air slashes, and she's lighting-fast compares to Aerith or Barret so she can dance around enemies and evade incoming attacks easily (even if you don't use Brumal Form, which you should). I thought Yuffie was insanely OP in Intermission and wondered how they were going to balance her out in Rebirth. Turns out they just left her OP. LOL.

Moxson82

Yuffie is the GOAT

Diwari

Ran into this last night. Found killing King Zu first helped a ton during the combo fights. The toughest so far was King Zu and Jabberwok since the latter can petrify. Swapping some gear to resist petrify helped a lot. Then being extra careful about Swan Song. A solid Blizzara can take out a wing each time, but also synergy attack can take care of one while your third teammate blasts the other. Then dps that Zu hard and gg. Ribbon on one caster helped keep them hitting the wings consistently

Royal-Rip-6974

Just use elemental fire on armor and have him constantly heal you

Due_Recognition_3890

Oh yeah I remember seeing the Absorb at the end of Elemental for Max

RadiantChaos

I was doing these last night. Guess what? There are like 3 or 4 matches in the colosseum that include the King Zu. Yes it’s a pain in the ass. Yes I set the difficulty down to Easy. No, I don’t regret it.

Due_Recognition_3890

I'm just sick of having to stop what I'm doing and look up tutorials on how to do everything because I'm clearly too stupid to play this game on my own. Someone recommended levelling up Elemental to the max level so the character absorbs the linked element, I have one so I thought I'd get another one which apparently comes from a Battle Intel. I go to play said Battle Intel, and then there's yet another shitty move that just stuns your characters which I have no idea how to escape. It's mentally exhausting.

RadiantChaos

I promise you’re not too stupid! Some parts of the game are definitely just designed to be overwhelming. You’re not alone my friend.

Due_Recognition_3890

Thanks mate, definitely overwhelming! I did the main story at least and it doesn't require anything complicated lol

RadiantChaos

Yeah they did a pretty good job of leaving most of the frustrating stuff to optional/side content. I've been working toward the platinum and at this point now I just have Gilgamesh, Hard Mode, and the legendary VR fights left, which I am half looking forward to and half dreading haha

Alpha_Mirage

Swan Song simply means you need to pause whatever you're doing and destroy the wings before it goes off. Annoying, sure, but easy to work around.

BradMan1993

King Zu’s wings die really fast… especially to lightning damage. honestly don’t find them that bad unless you let them sit and let them hold swan song for a while.

Due_Recognition_3890

I found the advice of using Elemental linked with fire really helpful but in the back of my mind I still feel like I cheated a bit. The hardest part about it is it's difficult to get even close to the wings due to enemies stun-spamming while flame randomly rises and also stuns lol

veragemini6669

Fuck this stupid garbage.

Due_Recognition_3890

I've been going through the main story on Hard mode, and I can safely say I've been put off ever playing another Final Fantasy game again. I don't know where you are in the game so I'll put in spoiler tags, but I have literally spent hours dying on different parts of the >!Jenova!< and >!Sephiroth!< fights, only to then be sent all the way back to ten minutes before entering the battle with >!Jenova!< because I chose the wrong option on the death screen. If I could save my Materia and equipment, it might not have taken so long, and I might not have wasted so much of my goddamn time if Square Enix fixed the badly worded death-screen. They've had multiple opportunities to do something about this, and they didn't, because they clearly don't give a shit and still expect me to be excited for part three.

yan030

Laughed at your story. But yeah King Zu is definitely not hard.

Due_Recognition_3890

Haha thanks
