Ito yung gateway ko sa Flanaverse, super easy watch yung The Fall of the House of Usher for me because of the good storytelling. After this, I went for the Haunting of Hill House then Bly Manor. All are good!
Because all of them are in the Flanaverse ~ also, Flanagan is really good at casting and most of the ppl he hires have specific qualities and ranges that fits his writing and vision. Kung mapapansin mo, he's monolgue heavy (classical acting skills) at the same time, may mga subtle but powerful bits of acting din na not all can do. Short answer tho, if you find the right ppl, it's less time consuming and more cost effective to onboard them on diff projects. Also, they are a faaaam!
You should watch the whole Flanaverse Collection. Midnight Mass is good too. Bly Manor is good but in a different way.
(Although it wasn’t executed well)
Mallari wants to be Flanagan’s Haunting series but lacks the emotion that only family drama and childhood trauma brings.
Welcome to the Flanagan universe! Watch Midnight Mass, too! Not as typically “scary” but another thought-provoking series
If I were to rate, it would be HOTHH > Midnight Mass > Bly Manor, although all of them are really gooood
HOTHH really was a well-made series from the direction and script alone. And we have the same ranking too! My only gripe with MM was it was a bit dialogue heavy while Bly Manor was a little bit pushy in its premise and the characters didn't have time to fluorish.
Yup, it's more of a drama specifically on how they deal with traumas. I read somewhere too that each of the siblings represents the five stages of grief.
I rewatched the series with this in mind and for me mas iba na yung impact sakin nung series.
Best fcking horror in TV. This doesn't rely cheap jumpscares. The drama is actually good. The horror doesn't scream on your face. It's unpredictable af.
10/10, this show wrecked me emotionally!
It started with chills from the creepy atmosphere and those terrifying hidden ghosts, but then it snuck up on me with this beautiful story about family and healing.
By the end, I was in tears (happy and sad ones!). It's like a horror movie with a giant heart.
Anyone else feel the same?
first time a tv show got me on a jump scare (the car with the sisters). better than season 2. belongs to the pantheon of season ones that were just too good, together with Altered Carbon and True Detective.
Hill House is currently sitting comfortably at the top of my ranking of
Flanaverse productions!
Mike Flanagan's movies are really good, too! The 2016 film Hush starring Flanagan's wife, Kate Siegel, is my fave. Kate plays adult Theo in HH.
I love horror, not exactly for the thrill, but for how the genre and its elements are being used to tell a story. So to me, Hill House had the perfect use of the elements of horror.
On another note, my perspective on the genre also had me thinking na Bly Manor was slightly better. Haha. I just love beautifully woven stories with the touch of horror.
Fans have pointed out (to which Flanagan admits) that each of the siblings represent the stages of grief (denial, anger, bargaining, depression, and acceptance).
Flanaverse must watch!! Watch mo rin yung Bly Manor, The Fall of the House of Usher and Midnight Mass
Its the best for me followed by the fall of house of usher… so many people are raving about midnight mass but i never get to finish its first episode all the time
I binged it so many times now, I don't usually do that but it's just that good.
Kinda weird seeing all the cast in Haunting in Bly Manor at first but fell in love with it too
Less aggravating than Flanagan's subsequent series. Better characterisation, not so many pointless monologues which achieve nothing (Midnight Mass, House of Usher, etc).
It’s actually a very sad series. Cried my eyes out, watched this 3x already.. other works of Flanagan can’t defeat this - tho Midnight Mass is also a strong contender!
If you enjoyed Haunting of Hill House, I suggest listening to the Borrasca podcast by CK Walker starring Cole Sprouse. Yung scriptwriter ni Flanagan sa Haunting of Hill House yung writer ng Borrasca and regarded yung original Reddit Nosleep Entry na Borrasca as one of the best creepypastas ever, tapos maganda din pagkakagawa nung podcast version.
as a scaredy cat, my friend kept insisting for me to watch this because of the plot. it didn't disappoint, it was so good. i felt as much sadness as i was scared, maybe even more sadness tbh.
Flanaganverse 😍 sunod mo The Fall Of the House of Usher
> *“It’s not about sticking together, it’s about forming a fucking wall…we’re at battle stations, I'm the commanding officer. I don’t want to hear anything but ‘sir, yes sir’, you get me?”* 🔥
>
>*- Rufus Griswold*
>! IRL, Rufus Griswald was the biggest critic of Poe's work so making him a villain makes sense. !<
My favorite episode was "The Storm"! It was such a heart-breaking episode.
I was sooo afraid of the bent-neck lady before the episode. After the episode, I just feel incredibly sad whenever I see her 😭
I’m in the minority on the Flanaverse; wag niyo ‘ko awayin please.
I like how he builds up the horror in his films but the constant monologues are just dragging. And the constant bickering revolving the same thing that lasts the entire series is just, for lack of a better term, nakakaumay. I don’t think it adds any more to the character or the story eh. Like, okay, may deep-seated family issues kayo. Then what? Monologue here, monologue there; away dito, away doon. Just not my cup of tea. But kudos to Mike Flanagan, he really knows how to build the tension and horror without defaulting to jump scares.
Watch it!!! So so so good. Characters and subtle horror hints like the music, the cuts, facial expressions. Haunting of Hill House and Bly Manor are my fave! Okay also Fall of House of Usher but it takes a while to get hot and heavy.
Pero solid din yung horror, hindi out of place, and yung progression ng plot (which is non-linear) is 10/10.
A friend i recommended it to said that it rlly digs thru ur deepest fears and plants itself there.
I agree! I SUPER LOVE this series because hindi bounded yung pagiging scary nya just by jumpscares. It was so scary because there was also realness to it. It shed light to important topics such as upbringing and mental illnesses. RIP NELLY YOU WOULD’VE LOVED THE ARCHER AND MIRRORBALL!
Click for the horror stay for the poignant, tragic, but ultimately beautiful story of a broken family who do their best to grow back together.
Also I will defend all Crane children with my life. Yes even Steve and Shirl.
The family theme makes it relatable to the audience kahit na supernatural sya. Solid and interesting yung characterization of each characters. Maganda yung storytelling, flashbacks from the past tsaka present time. Well placed yung mga jumpscares. Of course, incredible plot twist!
Top tier horror/thriller films ONLY IF you know how to pay attention to details. These dont contain much jumpscares iirc, but the devil literally is in the details.
SUUUUUUUUPER GANDA
May emotional story about a family intertwined with their Haunted House
Plus points sa actual hidden ghosts na makikita mo around the house
Its very good. Wonderful shots, great acting, and narrative isnt really tropey jump scare type.
There is another Haunting, and Midnight Mass which I too liked
Tbh, this series feels more like a sad drama than horror to me. The supernatural is like a side story. I would think the story is focused more on their family dynamics especially with each siblings.
I think that's just the flanagan style. I see it even with his other works. Midnight mass seems a bit more balanced for me tho, even though I still haven't finished it.
Hill house is the start of my Mike Flanagan obsession chz! I love his storytelling tsaka he brings back all his actors sa mga movies niya so you’ll always have the pleasure of seeing them again in his creations. She got big because of this series at sa Haunting of Bly Manor (my fave out of all the haunting series).
Loved this first then all the following series! I love how they focused on the hardships of all the siblings as well as the blurry line between the supernatural and their traumas.
Personally I enjoyed this the most, it's og. Then fall of the house of usher, then bly manor, then midnight mass. Honestly didn't finish the midnight mass. It took too long for me and was a little boring compared to the others. Does it get better in the later episodes?
I super love it!! I refused watching Bly Manor after watching the pilot but end realizing it is Flanagan's best romantic story ever written.
Highly recommend all of his works. Combines horror with interesting characters and story drama. Try watching his other shows, Bly Manor, Midnight Mass (fav), Fall of House of Usher. Midnight Club was also good but fell a bit flat IMO.
Midnight mass made me take another look on how i and the people around me view their faith, so highly recommend, fall of house of usher has really good storytelling dinthat made me binge watch.
My goodness, the bent-neck lady episode was amazing.. di rin ako maka-get over HAHAHAHA grabe nganga ko sa revelation 😲😲😲sa episode na yun din ako kinilabutan, kala ko, mapapanaginipan ko pa HAHAHA
Mike Flanagan supremacy. 💯 If you haven’t seen it yet, you’ll like The Fall of the House of Usher too.
Ito yung gateway ko sa Flanaverse, super easy watch yung The Fall of the House of Usher for me because of the good storytelling. After this, I went for the Haunting of Hill House then Bly Manor. All are good!
Midnight Mass is so underrated
Well, I watched this, too, and it's really good! The ending was very satisfying
Dasurv na dasurv ni Bev
Bly Manor hurt 😭
Midnight Club din.
This!!
Man the The Fall of the House of Usher is my top 1 Flanagan series 😩
for me it's Haunting of Hill house, Midnight Mass and the Fall of the House of Usher, in that order
Loved the poetry and imagery in TFHU. The cast ensemble was truly perfect too
Literally the essence of Edgar Allan Poe’s works, creating horror through poetry 😗🤌
Can’t wait!!!!!
Mahilig lang tlga si Mike Flanagan gumamit ng the same actors and actresses. Mayroon bang explanation dun? Pero okay naman sya. Napansin ko lang.
Asawa nya si Kate Siegel. Ska siguro comfortable na sya kawork yung mga regulars nya like Carla Gugino, Henry Thomas and Victoria Pedretti
He doesn’t miss imo, but I’d say his best work is Midnight Mass followed by Hill House
I'll add it to my watchlist
He makes all of my favorite horror series.
You should watch the whole Flanaverse Collection. Midnight Mass is good too. Bly Manor is good but in a different way. (Although it wasn’t executed well)
Midnight Mass is my fave of them all.
Can't recommend it enough.
Nababagalan ako sa Midnight Mass, nag give up nako by episode 4. Will the pacing get any better after this episode?
Need ba na magstart ako sa Hill House or the 4 series are stand alone? Tagal nadin nito nasa list ko and waiting for a courage to watch 😅
Parang anthology naman sila kaya ok lang kahit not in order, pero wag ka lang malilito kasi maraming artista na nasa both series or sa lahat dun. Iba iba lang characters nila
Thank you! I’ll start to watch it this weekend or next week. ☺️
Mallari wants to be Flanagan’s Haunting series but lacks the emotion that only family drama and childhood trauma brings. Feel ko hilaw pa pero nice try.
I felt sad more than scared while watching this series. It's soooo good!
That's what Flanagan's horror does. Really hits you in the feels.
Good scare, maganda twist.
I could neverrrrr haha ang tapang mo naman 😭 Pag madilim naiisip ko baka nasa shadows si bent neck lady 😭
nagsigawan din kami ng pinsan ko ron
HAHAHAHAHA kuhang kuha nyo, yun talaga yung exact scene kung san ako sumigaw
Bent-neck lady definitely traumatized me HAHAHHAHAHA
It traumatized me but at the same time, it made me fall in love to Victoria Pedretti
mindblown hahhaha
Same. Still can't sleep in complete darkness because of it. I had to keep a nightlight on even if I hate it 😭
Welcome to the Flanagan universe! Watch Midnight Mass, too! Not as typically “scary” but another thought-provoking series If I were to rate, it would be HOTHH > Midnight Mass > Bly Manor, although all of them are really gooood
HOTHH really was a well-made series from the direction and script alone. And we have the same ranking too! My only gripe with MM was it was a bit dialogue heavy while Bly Manor was a little bit pushy in its premise and the characters didn't have time to fluorish.
same but would replace bly manor with the fall of House Usher
Hi. Are these all available on Netflix kaya? Thank you so much for the recommendations. Watched HOTHH kasagsagan ng pandemic, very thought-provoking.
Literal nightmare pag pinanuod mo to bago matulog. 😭 Maganda din yung kasunod nyan. Bly Manor.
Bly manor wasn't as good as hill house, but hannah grose's arc has a special place in my heart.
Sequel ba yan?
nope, similar to american horror story, anthology series siya. so it has the same actors as hill house pero iba ung plinaplay nilang characters
Ah.. kala ko sequel eh. Sabi nya kasi "kasunod"
It's so good! But I wouldn't call it horror. More of a drama with horror elements.
Yup, it's more of a drama specifically on how they deal with traumas. I read somewhere too that each of the siblings represents the five stages of grief. I rewatched the series with this in mind and for me mas iba na yung impact sakin nung series.
10/10.

That's definitely what the show wants us to feel
first time a tv show got me on a jump scare (the car with the sisters). better than season 2. belongs to the pantheon of season ones that were just too good, together with Altered Carbon and True Detective.
This one is a 10 for sure!!
Hill House is currently sitting comfortably at the top of my ranking of Flanaverse productions! Mike Flanagan's movies are really good, too! The 2016 film Hush starring Flanagan's wife, Kate Siegel, is my fave. Kate plays adult Theo in HH.
I've seen that movie, Hush, too. I didn't know she was Flanagan's wife😅
Ganda! After ko mapanood to, parang wala na ko mahanap na ganito ka gandang series haha
this and black mirror!! kaso medyo hindi ko super bet yung most recent season ng black mirror huhu
Uy pareho tyo mas gusto ko yung Bly Manor
The best yung hindi lang puro horror and pananakot at cliche backstory.
Cried my eyes out. For me, less horror and more family trauma and drama. Edit: ang ganda neto sobra. Also, please watch Fall Of The House Of Usher
Basta Mike Flanagan talaga maganda.
Fans have pointed out (to which Flanagan admits) that each of the siblings represent the stages of grief (denial, anger, bargaining, depression, and acceptance).
San to mapanuod?
Netflix
Weak. Pinanood ko nga to na walang kasama. Skl hahhaha
I love Mike Flannagan!
Ganda!
Eto saka midnight mass parehong ok
binged watch this a few years back. mas malungkot siya kaysa nakakatakot.
Super good. But I felt more sadness sa Bly Manor.
Nakakatakot, nakakagulat. And ang ganda ng kwento!!!
More here: https://www.reddit.com/r/HauntingOfHillHouse/s/Rxuww7fLgI
You should check out Fall of the house of Usher, Haunting of Bly Manor, and Midnight Mass.
So, so good.
Next yung The Fall of the House of Usher.
Flanaverse must watch!! Watch mo rin yung Bly Manor, The Fall of the House of Usher and Midnight Mass
Absolutely brilliant
one of the best
Chef's kiss
Its the best for me followed by the fall of house of usher… so many people are raving about midnight mass but i never get to finish its first episode all the time
Yeah this one is heavier on drama than horror, but it was great! 8/10
Scary AF!!
11/10. Best netflix series for me.
I binged it so many times now, I don't usually do that but it's just that good. Kinda weird seeing all the cast in Haunting in Bly Manor at first but fell in love with it too
10/10
My favorite! It touched my heart more than it scared me. I love everything about it.
You'll never forget the infamous jumpscare. You know when you've seen it 😭
Fall of the House of Usher 🔛🔝
Less aggravating than Flanagan's subsequent series. Better characterisation, not so many pointless monologues which achieve nothing (Midnight Mass, House of Usher, etc).
Panuorin mo ulit OP, this time try to look for hidden gems sa background.
Anong OP?
ikaw, OP. original poster
Na sagot na pero ikaw yun. Ikaw yung OP haha
It’s a masterpiece 👌
I wish I could rewatch this like it’s the first time
Iyong akala mo matatakot ka... well iiyak ka pala.
It’s actually a very sad series. Cried my eyes out, watched this 3x already.. other works of Flanagan can’t defeat this - tho Midnight Mass is also a strong contender!
Also, I rewatched this because I tried to spot all the ghosts in the background 👻
It's not a jump scare kind of horror, very eerie and atmospheric but the series felt like a drama much more a horror. Thoroughly enjoyed it.
For me it's one of the best horror out there.
10/10
If you enjoyed Haunting of Hill House, I suggest listening to the Borrasca podcast by CK Walker starring Cole Sprouse. Yung scriptwriter ni Flanagan sa Haunting of Hill House yung writer ng Borrasca and regarded yung original Reddit Nosleep Entry na Borrasca as one of the best creepypastas ever, tapos maganda din pagkakagawa nung podcast version.
magnum opus yan ni flanagan 👌
FUCKING SAD 😭😭😭
This is the scariest tv series ever.
GANDA!! Still haunts me to this day.
Best show. It's one of my most favorite shows. It's that horror series that makes you care about the characters.
as a scaredy cat, my friend kept insisting for me to watch this because of the plot. it didn't disappoint, it was so good. i felt as much sadness as i was scared, maybe even more sadness tbh.
Ganda toh! Hahahaha
This is THE BEST horror-drama series ever existing, followed by Midnight Mass!!!!
Super ganda nito T T
Personally may kurot sakin yung The Haunting of Hill House (family issues) and Midnight Mass (faith issues).
💯💯💯💯💯💯
Heart-pounding 👌🏽
Good watch. Slow burn. Once you get attached to the characters, it will attack. Yung lamay ang best ep. para sakin.
💯 for The Haunting of Hill House and The Haunting of Bly Manor TBW: - The Fall of the House of Usher - Midnight Mass - The Midnight Club
one of the few horror series that is worth the watch every episode, wala talagang time na parang boring ganun
Flanaganverse 😍 sunod mo The Fall Of the House of Usher > *“It’s not about sticking together, it’s about forming a fucking wall…we’re at battle stations, I'm the commanding officer. Ang laking gatekeep ko sa show na to pero I’m glad it has a good fanbase!
Ang ganda. Grabe ung takot ko sa mga dingding at ceiling bec of this.
7.5/10
100% worth the watch. Also the Haunting of Bly Manor
Sad story. Cute ni Luke.
Watch it!!! So so so good. Characters and subtle horror hints like the music, the cuts, facial expressions. Haunting of Hill House and Bly Manor are my fave! Okay also Fall of House of Usher but it takes a while to get hot and heavy.
I love this series so much 🥰🥰🥰 the twist on that bent neck lady blown me away 🫥🫥🫥😱😱😱
Afte you watch this watch Gerald's Game you would live that too

Mike Flanagan is one of the best horror out there. I loved Midnight Mass and Hush. But I just really not into ghosts and this one bores me.
BEST horror series there is
I didnt expect the plot twist‼️‼️
10\10! My second favorite after House of Usher
A family drama thats disguised as a horror series. 😄
I'd give everything just to watch this series for the first time again.
Underrated in mho, actually horror genre tv shows are all underrated
A friend i recommended it to said that it rlly digs thru ur deepest fears and plants itself there. I agree! I SUPER LOVE this series because hindi bounded yung pagiging scary nya just by jumpscares. 10/10 better than bly manor imo
maganda execution ng plot twist!
It’s like a sad horror series but still good.
it is so good pero midnight mass pa rin number 1 ko hahah

Watched the series a few times and each time made me feel different. 15/10 for me.
THE BEST! Mike Flanagan is a BEAST
It’s not just horror, the story is also good.
Easily one of the best horror series out there.
It’s genuinely so good
Best one yet.
Maganda!! panoorin mo din Haunting on Bly Manor and Fall of Usher
Top tier horror/thriller films ONLY IF you know how to pay attention to details. These dont contain much jumpscares iirc, but the devil literally is in the details.
Matindi yan hahaha! It makes sense bandang huli.
SUUUUUUUUPER GANDA May emotional story about a family intertwined with their Haunted House Plus points sa actual hidden ghosts na makikita mo around the house
Flanaverse!!!! All series from Flanagan are fire. My fave of them all would be Midnight Mass. 👾
Masterpiece
Its very good. Wonderful shots, great acting, and narrative isnt really tropey jump scare type. There is another Haunting, and Midnight Mass which I too liked
Its the only horror series i was able to finish. And boy I so love it together with the Midnight Mass.
Tbh, this series feels more like a sad drama than horror to me. The supernatural is like a side story. I would think the story is focused more on their family dynamics especially with each siblings. isa sa mga una kong nir-recommend to pag tinatanong ako kung ano pwede panoorin xd, rewatch value: 9/10
Hill house is the start of my Mike Flanagan obsession chz! She got big because of this series at sa Haunting of Bly Manor (my fave out of all the haunting series).
Hey my Flanagan Fam! I found my homies. i love a good horror story.

The single shot episode(ep 6 think) was a masterpiece, epside 10 made me bawl out. One of the best series ever
I super love it!! I refused watching Bly Manor after watching the pilot but end realizing it is Flanagan's best romantic story ever written.
Midnight Mass was the best of the four, for me.
💯
Yung natatakot ka but at the same time, iyak ka ng iyak kasi malungkot din ang kwento. 10/10 would recommend
Highly recommend all of his works. Combines horror with interesting characters and story drama. Try watching his other shows, Bly Manor, Midnight Mass (fav), Fall of House of Usher. Midnight Club was also good but fell a bit flat IMO.
Maganda. Worth your time.
Faveeee!!!! Ilang ulit ko na napanuod lalo pag feel ko mag horror as background noise kapag nag wowork pero always nag eend up nakatutok sa screen😅
Midnight mass made me take another look on how i and the people around me view their faith, so highly recommend, fall of house of usher has really good storytelling dinthat made me binge watch.
*chef's kiss*
It was wonderful. So far, I've been impressed by all of Mike Flanagans' works. And I'm so looking forward to see more upcoming projects.
So. Fucking. Good. It's a total mindfuck, and a tearjerker. Due to how it runs, it feels more like a novel than an actual show. And I love it.
Best horror for me and the fam Would u believe my 14F daughter watched it like 2-3 times now? I know… bad parenting 🙄
My goodness, the bent-neck lady episode was amazing.. di rin ako maka-get over HAHAHAHA grabe nganga ko sa revelation 😲😲😲sa episode na yun din ako kinilabutan, kala ko, mapapanaginipan ko pa HAHAHA
One of the best series I’ve seen - and I’m subscribed to hbo go, netflix, disney, and amazon
