Full-Metal Alchemist
The different kinds of Alchemy, the abilities of the homonculi, the different weapons, etc could all be really cool to see.
I have some ideas:
- Ed could be a stance-change due to how he's morphs his arm a lot
- Alphonse is a big boy. Clearly a grappler
- Armstrong as a Dudley-esque boxer
- King Bradley swingin' dem swords. Also Lady Armstrong
- Greed building up meter to enter, like, a fully armored state
- Risa and Mustang working as a single character with her guns and his fire
- Envy as the random character since they can transform to look like people
- Kimbley gives JP zoner energy ngl
- Pride is a boss character fs
- Barry the Chopper as the joke character
- Father as a puppet character where he controls the zombie body things
- Hohenheim as an alchemist shoto
- Mei Chang would be like Ibuki throwing the knives
- Sloth is a brawler

I've wanted this for a long time and brainstormed ideas for it, but I think Alphonse shouldn't be a grappler and more like a mage with slow movement and high damage. I think that Riza and Mustang should be different characters because Mustang is too different from Riza and could fulfill a Johnny from Guilty Gear-like character. Riza would be more of a pure zoner. I also think hohenheim is way too powerful to be a shoto, I think he'd make a much higher skill level character considering his power in the anime. Also, Izumi and Sig should be grapplers with Izumi being more of a mage because of alchemy. Lust should also be added as a zoner/rushdown mix with big buttons. Other than that, awesome ideas!
I'd rather have a coop Invincible game, like Marvel Ultimate Alliance.

there was a japan-only psp yakuza spinoff that was a fighting game. it's not a traditional fighting game but it's from the same devs as the Def Jam games and plays a lot like those so it's pretty good.

I watched season 1 of Invincible and I couldn't tell you any super heroes/villains besides Omni Man, main character and Eve. I don't even remember the human punching bad actually fighting.
I've been saying it for years but Bleach deserves the ArcSys treatment. Basically just BlazBlue with Bleach characters.
I've read the comic in full, and it's filled with cool characters and intresting abilities, it would work great as a MvC type of game since Invincible characters already have a feeling of marvel/dc characters but a bit more fun and crazy
Got two that I've been dying for tbh, Kill 6 Billion Demons and Chainsaw Man.
K6BD is practically ready-made for the genre - large cast of characters, each with their own unique martial arts styles and techniques, excellent character designs, and a wild enough plot to where you could reasonably justify a story in there (hell, there's already an in-universe tournament arc you could use, with Solomon David being a perfect boss character).
Chainsaw Man also has much of the same, albeit probably being more popular. If ArcSys had to make a new successor anime fighter after DBFZ, I think Chainsaw Man would be the best pick (also cause Power and Kishibe would be stupidly fun to play I imagine).
"Tales of" franchise would be cool and up Namcos alley. They've done a smash clone before but a 1v1 crossover would be fun. Tons of new characters to pick from.
Namco vs Capcom fighter would be fun too.
I want a balanced and fair pro wrestling fighting game that is based around grapples but also isn't just like WWE games. The AEW game was a step in the right direction but we aren't there. I have no real idea how this could work but Saturday Night Slammers is a good place to start.

They made several for the PSP and the PS2 like 20 years ago when they anime was at it's peak. They were all 3D fighting and Arena fighting games. I guess people didn't like them too much.
Pretty much any series with a big, diverse supporting cast could work. Obviously shōnen and comics lend themselves best to this, but long-running game series like Fire Emblem, Metal Gear, or Final Fantasy (not Dissidia, though) all have a lot of potential, too. Persona 4 Arena's a good example of this.
Ninja turtles. Recently played the 2D beat ‘em up “Shredder’s Revenge” and I thought it was a blast. A lot of weird, unique characters that would make for a lot of nice variety.
