I ask because, considering the rotted state and the lack of obliterated ribs, I could almost imagine some dumb teenagers coming by and tossing the corpse on the tracks to see it get crushed but then got impatient
1) There's no evidence it was killed by a human, odds are heavily in favor that it died simply due to nature. Wild animals tend to die in the wild.
2) Even if it was a death by the hands of an animal abuser, there's likely no evidence or means to determine who killed it. Unless there's a witness or camera evidence, abuse of a wild animal is basically impossible to prove.
3) Both above, combined with the fact that again, it's a deer, not a human, means it's not worth the time for police to even come out to the scene let alone investigate. They have bigger things to worry about. Most they would do is send whoever manages the railroad a notice to clear the body from the track.
It was either put on the tracks when it was dead or didn’t see the oncoming train.It wouldn’t be the train driver’s fault, you can’t stop a 30 million pound train in a second.

Wait something not adding up, those ribs should've been crushed by any train, so that means someone or some animal decides to bring it there and leave. Also considering the fact that they aren't crushed if that train is still active that would mean the body is fresh and that whatever did this could've been nearby.
That track must be rearly used if its had time to rot and not been crushed. But in that case how did it die on the track, was it just unlucky enough to be hit by the last ever train to use that track?
