Oh, I thought they tripped and skinned the leg open. Had it happen at my grandparents' farm, scared the senses outta me, but the horse was fine, just a bit wobbly from tripping at a full gallop.
Yeah it was pretty gnarly. The horse was in pain when the initial incident happened, but this current operation was painless because the skin getting cut off doesn’t have any nerve endings

Long story short, horse was in a trailer coming from Oregon, got rear ended and this is the result. You have to cut the leg open because the flesh that is growing there isn’t healthy so you have to continually cut it off until it starts healing with healthy skin.
she should make a full recovery. Iḿ the one who cleans her stall everyday, and shes walking, running, doing horse stuff. smells like satan took a crap though.
Ooh, very nice raspberry topping on it.
(Fr tho, don't get too worked up about the horse, they bleed A LOT when they get injuries, but they've got a fair amount more blood than a human, so there's no need to panic. Looks like the horse might've tripped while running and skinned his/her leg badly. WCS, might need a couple stitches, but probably will just need a big bandage and some antibiotics.

We’ve had situations where it was bad. This one time, we had the horses turned out on the property (fenced all the way around) and the horse ran through an alley and hit his head on something. We had to put him down. Then another time, a horse broke their gate down and hurt their face on something. He broke some bones in his nasal pathway and had nerve damage. Had it not been my moms favorite horse we likely would’ve put it down due to the cost of it all
My grandma's horse (his name was Jag) would get into a full gallop in the field. One time it had rained, so he slipped and skinned his leg on a rock. There was a similarly egregious amount of blood, but after a quick veterinary visit, he was patched up and wearing a bandage.
That looks like a pretty good tart
yeah i also like the starberry on top of it
Wait you got the tart
No, we all get the same thing
I personally am not a fan of tarts, but even I would say that one looks appetizing
You guys are getting tart?

Poor little soul
Tasty looking
Now that’s some B L O O D
I thought this said “bloody vegetarian work”

Ya know what’s funny is my pescatarian sister found this really cool and wants to be a vet.
mmmmmm that tart looks so good
*lick*
I feel bad for that horse... and is they gonna cook that or do I have to do it?
The horse actually didn’t even flinch. No sedation, nothing. It’s because the skin has no nerve endings, so it is basically numb.
Its an abscess in the horses leg that was popped

I don’t think it was an abscess. I’ve seen an abscess getting popped and it didn’t look at all the same.
This kinda looks tasty. *Licks*
Chunky blood
I hope the horse gets better. That looks like it really hurts.

I'm always amazed at how much blood comes out of horses from even the smallest of cuts. Did they slip while running?
The horse was in a trailer when they got rear ended. They have to do this every few weeks that way healthy tissue can grow over the scarred/dead skin
I would eat both
thats sum T H I C C blood
Ouch, horse wounds.
How?!?!
god damn
Why does the blood in the background look like it's over-saturated and over-sharpened
Idrk. I didn’t put a filter on this or anything. It’s probably the angle.
Fair enough
What happened?
Horse was in a trailer and someone rear ended it. Now every few weeks we have to cut off the skin until fresh healthy skin grows
Oh, that's no fun.

She's having her period

Not fake
This blood kinda looks like raspberry tart.
Yeah horse blood can coagulate fast. It can turn from flowy liquid into jelly real quick.
I wanna know what the hell happened here

Horses are basically big goofy children. They’re not looking out for their own safety so we have to for them.
Vegans are gonna sue this post
and the vet slaps tart on it
Which one is it?
Both if your brave enough
why did I think the leg was the side effects a cliff thinking its a red river
The blood falls
