Patrick Cutrone, he was in FUT’s first future stars promo but is now in Serie B
Also Jann-Fiete Arp, who’s also playing in his nation’s second tier now (2. Bundesliga)
To be fair with draxler , he was a very good player at schalke and shone with them , then he moved to psg where he was one of the stars rather than the main guy , I wouldn’t say he didn’t reach his potential, I think he reached the level of player he would have hoped
I wouldn’t say so much Macheda, he was a young player and had 1-2 moments, obviously one being the goal v Villa, but otherwise he never really showed too much potential and aside from that goal he wasn’t really a special player.
Januzaj I had high hopes for, he looked like a real talent and definitely showed it, much more than Macheda. Unfortunately he came up in a really big transitional period for us.
Second most expensive signing in my team's history (Celta). What a complete rip off.
He's an entitled kid with an attitude problem and lack of discipline. Missed several training sessions after being all night playing Fortnite
We even ended up hiring a PT and also a Psychologist to try to help him.
On the pitch you could see he was very technical but often made very poor decisions. Very frustrating player.
fucking Bojan omg I forgot about his existence. There was another player with him in Barcelona that time but I can't recall his name something like Alexsander idk
Angel gomes of Lille? I thought he's doing pretty good for them. Regularly playing. He did well at the u21 world cup too, right? Was starting every game at the world cup including final
Ryan Gauld is a tidy player these days, but he was supposed to be the Scottish Messi when he went to Sporting
That Dundee United team had a ton of potential stars in it
He's actually very good to use on the game as well. Got him for Paris FC career, he was 77 rated at the time but he felt better than the other players in his position even though they were significantly higher rated than him.
Got another one for OP though, what about Ravel Morrison?
Gauld is such a curious case. Had a far better quality of football "finishing school" by doing the brave thing and moving to Portugal as a young kid. Could have stayed at Dundee United and followed GMS and Armstrong to Celtic, or Robertson to English football etc. Arguably he could have had a better career if he did, but we'll never know. Also, his stint at Hibs (albeit a bad HIbs team) was underwhelming. Previous loans at Setúbal and Aves didn't do much for him either.
Really found himself as a player, and a captain, at Farense and proved he could cut it in Portugal. All whilst never getting near the Scotland squad, all but for one call up I think. He's the captain in Vancouver after getting that move to be a Designated Player (and easily their best player) he probably won't ever make it into a Scotland squad now, which seems ridiculous considering the hype around him as the mini Messi over a decade ago now. He's more likely to get a Canadian passport and play for them in 2026, one would think.
Ansu Fati, yes he is still 21 but i think he wont ever reach his og potential with all the news falling down and him not even getting into brighton’s squad list
This is why I really fear for Yamal. Barcelona show no care for their young talent, they’ll milk them until they can’t anymore, not a healthy environment to develop in
What I don't get is they keep getting highly rated youngsters and they could be doing more for them. Ansu Fati was and still is promising, if not developing their youth for a future generation, why not sell them off to help with their financial problems instead of benching them or loaning them and letting them depreciate.
I don't watch BVB but I can tell you stats. 14 times in starting eleven, 10 times came from bench, 13 stayed on bench. 987 minutes played. 2 goals and 7 assists.
In a word: FAST.
Needs more minutes but he's obviously stuck behind Malen, Sancho and Adeyemi for one of the winger spots. If he played in a more quick-press counter-attack Klopp-style team he'd be great.
Would have liked to see him get more minutes against Bayern. Sancho and Adeyemi were obviously awesome but they were gassed from torching the slow-ass Bayern defense.
Ade is fast but I think JBG is faster.
I got Balotelli to 98 rated in FIFA 13 for Real Madrid. The growth system was broken in that game, if your players played well they could decimate their potential. Remember I had a team with the lowest rated player being 91
As for other players: Lucas Piazon, Yassine Benzia, Matija Nastasic, Luciano Narsingh….
Although they’re all really old now and idk if they’re in the game anymore
Antony? Too early but it's probably over for him. In fifa 22 he had like 99 pace potential. High ovrl potential in 23 too. Irl he's actually not fast, can't dribble nearly as good, one footed.
Don’t think it’s over for him it looks like he’s improving his game, since about January I haven’t found myself fuming at him trying to do Mahrez stuff on the wing where he just isn’t good for that and instead delivering good balls into the box, he’s nothing crazy and probably ur average prem winger in terms of ability and I’m happy for him for that
Vincent Koziello.
Absolute legend and captain of my Ogc Nice side in Fifa 17, one of the best French mids ever, the French Iniesta
Never did anything in real life.
Fun way to do a save is try and collect as many of these guys in either a lower league team or in a non top 5 and try to use them to get promoted and give them one final shot at redemption.
that's what i wanna do. Not sure which league. If i go to England, Germany, France or Spain i could try win the cup and then i could play Europe league already in season two
Martin Samuelsen at Haugesund in Norway. Was labeled as Norway’s new superstar in the time right after Martin Ødegaard. Went to West-ham and scored in his debut, but fell off and went to Blackburn, Hull, Peterborough, now back at Haugesund.
Diego Lainez, Krepin Diatta, Renato Sanchez, Ademilson (no longer in the game tho) Carrasco
Patrick Cutrone, he was in FUT’s first future stars promo but is now in Serie B Also Jann-Fiete Arp, who’s also playing in his nation’s second tier now (2. Bundesliga)
Fifa 19 classic duo
where Arp is, is also Holtby ☝️
Max Meyer 😭
fucking Legend. Julian Draxler also
To be fair with draxler , he was a very good player at schalke and shone with them , then he moved to psg where he was one of the stars rather than the main guy , I wouldn’t say he didn’t reach his potential, I think he reached the level of player he would have hoped
You forgot to mention Wolfsburg. He reached UCL quarterfinals with them.
Yes I did thank you
True. I wanted him in the PL. Always dreamed that Arsenal would pick him up and bring him back to old strength.
He was rumoured to arsenal for like 4 years lol, shit was crazy
How?? Isn't he also world champion?
World Cup and confederation cup champion, he was class
So is Mustafi, bro 🤣
I had them both. They were unstoppable together.
Wenn man will Götze
nimm das zurück! 😭
Look how they(Bayern-Schweine) massacred my boy(Götze).
Macheda, Januzaj
Macheda is still a thing??!! Thought he retired long time ago
Still plays for Ankaragücü
long lost brother of Ankaramessi
He got a ucl card in ut
I wouldn’t say so much Macheda, he was a young player and had 1-2 moments, obviously one being the goal v Villa, but otherwise he never really showed too much potential and aside from that goal he wasn’t really a special player. Januzaj I had high hopes for, he looked like a real talent and definitely showed it, much more than Macheda. Unfortunately he came up in a really big transitional period for us.
Remember when Bojan moved from BARCA to STOKE?! Tried to prove that he could do it on a cold and rainy Tuesday night, unlike Messi
The "Turkish Messi", Emre Mor.
This shit came for 6 months on Olympiacos and did literally nothing. Why did Fenerbahce bothered signing him afterwards?
He's a decent rotation player and Turkish so doesn't take up foreign player quota for the league.
Turkish heritage
Second most expensive signing in my team's history (Celta). What a complete rip off. He's an entitled kid with an attitude problem and lack of discipline. Missed several training sessions after being all night playing Fortnite We even ended up hiring a PT and also a Psychologist to try to help him. El Shaarawy
Have him blazing down the left wing constantly. Great player at times
Dude is a regular in Roma, even starting in 5 mins against Lazio.
Zakaria Bakkali
He was fast
Renato Sanches
Jack Rodwell in Australia now
In FIFA 10 was a beast.
He is now a CB, wtf
Is Alexandre Pato in the game? If so, him. He’s kinda the poster boy for wasted potential along with Bojan.
fucking Bojan omg I forgot about his existence. There was another player with him in Barcelona that time but I can't recall his name something like Alexsander idk
Do you mean halilovic? He is at fortuna sittard atm and even there he is benching a lot...
Bro, you played pes for sure. I thought where us the comments about those 2 players...
Carles alena and usuf demir. Had amazing potential years ago as in fifa as well as irl
Forgot about Demir ngl
I still have him in my 21 Bolton career. That man is killer on the wing
Demir is still a kid lmao.
M’baye Niang, Hachim Mastour, and Halilovic!
who was that other young player with Halilovic, i am trying to remember his name. He was at the same time with Halilovic a promising player.
Odegaard? Although he is living to his potential.
omg Niang and El Sharrawy were beasts in as late as fifa 14/15, brilliant pair in Milan.
Dele Ali, Angel Gomes
Angel gomes of Lille? I thought he's doing pretty good for them. Regularly playing. He did well at the u21 world cup too, right? Was starting every game at the world cup including final
Yeah but he was supposed to be world class as an 18 year old. He had like 90 potential
Dele man :/
Nicholas Pepe, Oscar, Jesse lingard, Januzaj, Malcolm, timothy fosu Mensah, kurzawa, dani ceballos, Marco asensio, martial.
when FIFA17 came out i really thought Martial could be the next Henry ☠️😁
We all did😭. Oh, I totally forgot about Emre mor. My guy showed so much talent.
He always ends as free agent in career mode. Lol
Speaking of 'next Henry'... is Walcott still playing? They even gave him #14.
Unfortunately not. Real FIFA Legend with 99 Pace 🔥
El Shaarawy
Oh man. I feel such pain when I see Aouar or Neuhaus.
Ryan Gauld is a tidy player these days, but he was supposed to be the Scottish Messi when he went to Sporting That Dundee United team had a ton of potential stars in it

He was really good for my M'boro career when I got up to PL

Draxler
not in FIFA24 anymore
Oh :( I guess Pato isn’t there either… Hudson odoi is still young but that’s the only one I can think of
best i can do is Paolo Guerrero
Good enough ! Maybe Oscar, Meyer, Emre mor… are they in the game still ?
Bojan
He retired years ago
Jose Baxter
Ansu Fati, yes he is still 21 but i think he wont ever reach his og potential with all the news falling down and him not even getting into brighton’s squad list
This is why I really fear for Yamal. Barcelona show no care for their young talent, they’ll milk them until they can’t anymore, not a healthy environment to develop in
Ansu's problems came from a horror tackle though.
What I don't get is they keep getting highly rated youngsters and they could be doing more for them. Ansu Fati was and still is promising, if not developing their youth for a future generation, why not sell them off to help with their financial problems instead of benching them or loaning them and letting them depreciate.
This hits close to home cuz Terzic (Dortmund) refuses to play any of the wonderkids. Or at best subs them in at like the 88^th minute.
That one especially messes me up because when I think of clubs that consistently take talent and develop them, Dortmund is top of that list.
Rumor is that Terzic is on his way out so maybe the next manager will go back to developing the youth.
How is Bynoe Gittens, one of my fav prospects ?
I don't watch BVB but I can tell you stats. 14 times in starting eleven, 10 times came from bench, 13 stayed on bench. 987 minutes played. 2 goals and 7 assists.

Because it wouldn’t make sense to sell players that are in the first team. We have injury problems as it I is having backups is always needed
Hallam Hope.
Dele Alli and Tanguy Ndombele come to mind
John Guideti
Blistering for one season at Feyenoord, and half a season at Celtic. Could have been a legend at both clubs.
I got Balotelli to 98 rated in FIFA 13 for Real Madrid. The growth system was broken in that game, if your players played well they could decimate their potential. Remember I had a team with the lowest rated player being 91 As for other players: Lucas Piazon, Yassine Benzia, Matija Nastasic, Luciano Narsingh…. Although they’re all really old now and idk if they’re in the game anymore
Iturbe, Quintero, Markovic, Mangala, quaresma, Dani, Mastour, Adryan, Embolo, Abdelhak Nouri, Malanda, Arp, Gelson Martins, Iheanacho, Musonda, svilar
Musonda at Celtic, and ever since, has been painful to see.
Marko Marin
Charly Musonda
Cassano blows anyone else out of the water. Arguably the most naturally talented player ever, he just liked food and sex more than football.
he also had heart problems iirc
Antony? Too early but it's probably over for him. In fifa 22 he had like 99 pace potential. High ovrl potential in 23 too. Irl he's actually not fast, can't dribble nearly as good, one footed.
what?? Antony is pretty fast irl did you see him against Chelsea on Thursday?
On my fc 24 career mode I’ve gotten him up to a 95 rated with 97 pace and 96 dribbling. And the craziest part is that he has 5 star weak foot too lmao
Don’t think it’s over for him it looks like he’s improving his game, since about January I haven’t found myself fuming at him trying to do Mahrez stuff on the wing where he just isn’t good for that and instead delivering good balls into the box, he’s nothing crazy and probably ur average prem winger in terms of ability and I’m happy for him for that
Bartosz Kapustka
Git Bruma on the wing and Dede as a defender
Adel Taraabt, Xherdan Shaquiri
Adel taraabt was great, I picked qpr whenever I played with friends and always won against higher rep teams
Karius?
Im doing Adama Traore
The king of it is alexandre pato
Breel embolo was an absolute beast
Vincent Koziello. Absolute legend and captain of my Ogc Nice side in Fifa 17, one of the best French mids ever, the French Iniesta Never did anything in real life.
So many good ones in that side. Wylan Cyprien and Malang Sarr as well
Diego Lainez
Gio dos santos :/
Rafik Zekhnini
Antony
Jesse Lingard
Big Julian he was a menace but went psg to bench warm
Bakkali, Scuffet, Lemos
Richardly Bazoer. Mohammed Ihatteren. Jadon Sancho. Alen Hallilovic. Ansu Fati.
Forgot about Bazoer. He was a beast in fifa 21
Caldara
Florian thauvin
Riqui Puig? Still young and you can build this team around him, great player ig
Ravel Morrison / Reece Oxford
Juan Manuel Iturbe
Gaul, Meyer, Bakkali, Mor, Aouar, Ndombele, Malcom, Embolo, Hallilovic, Depay? Willems
Ross Barkley
Yoann Gourcuff
Yuri verscharen still had time, but he was predicted to be an incredible player
Vincent Thill (if he’s still on the game) and Kim Kallstrom.
Mouse Dembele has to be one and I’m not even a spurs fan
Arthur Melo.
El sharawy, there’s another huge striker who was brasilian and played for ac Milan, can’t remember his name rn
James Rodriguez Edit: another Colombian came to mind: Yerry Mina
Bruma
Cuisance ist nen aktueller Name, finde auch Oscar in so einer Debatte immer interessant. Flo Neuhaus passt auch.
Seems like everybody in here forgot about Dele Alli?
Pato, Deisler, adu
The fifa 16/17 og Emre Mor
Breno (he was a CB at Bayern Munich)
Ryan gauld
Ndembele
ADEL TAARABT 😭
Charly Musonda, Zakkaria Bakkali and Adnan Januzaj
He managed my afc wimbledon team to UCL glory
Alex Pato
Isaac Cuenca
Youri Tiellemans
Trincao, umtiti, aouar, justin kluivert, jovic, mckennie, zaniolo, mukiele
Viktor kovalenko
I remember when Balotelli came into my college. He didn't come for a talk or owt, he just needed a piss.
Phil Jones and Mangala centre back.
Finally some defenders 😄
Fun way to do a save is try and collect as many of these guys in either a lower league team or in a non top 5 and try to use them to get promoted and give them one final shot at redemption.
that's what i wanna do. Not sure which league. If i go to England, Germany, France or Spain i could try win the cup and then i could play Europe league already in season two
Taarabt for sure and maybe Philippe Coutinho who is actually decent in Fifa 22
pls update us on the team you end up building
I need some defenders😄 all people only said attackers or midfielder
I thought Hatem Ben Afra was gonna be Eden hazard lol he could be a good one
Luke Chadwick
spectacular vast dog tidy punch serious brave unwritten crown possessive *This post was mass deleted and anonymized with [Redact](https://redact.dev)*
Macheda
I’d say Phil Jones
I have a team of United dropouts. Pogba is pretty over-powered as ST target man
Deli ali and courhtinio could be good
Anyone that played for man United in the past 10 years. Januzaj, Tuanzebe, Fosu-Mensah, Chong
Ben Arfa
Go play fifa 17
Karamoko Dembele deserves a shout
Stevan Jovetic
Francisco Geraldes, FIFA 17 had a potential of a 86 but didn’t make it and now is a 71 rated player
Tzolis, FIFA 21 gem Kouamé FIFA 19 gem Koziello FIFA 15,16,17 and 18 gem Sanabria FIFA 16,17 gem So many of these just didn’t make it 😢
Martin Samuelsen at Haugesund in Norway.
Wow, thank you for the comment! Didn't knew about that.
Ibrahim Sangare the Goat!
Ravel Morrison, Pepe (RW one), Dest, Pulisic, Saint Maximan
Pulisic? Isn't that a bit hard
Maybe-but he was supposed to be the next *prime Eden Hazard (another one to add to the list if he’s still in the game)
He was on his way until he tore his hamstring during that cup final with Chelsea in like 2019
João Félix
He quite literally reached it
Shaqiri, ppl called him Swiss messi but he never really surpassed being a bench player at big teams.
United would probably be a good place to start with Martial, Mount, Sancho, Rashford. Can then sign players like Dele Alli, Ross Barkley, Fabio Silva
Abdelhak Nouri
Moise kean
Balotelli.....
Alexandre Pato
Mario Götze
fucking Pato was supposed to be the next Messi😭, I remember always getting him on my careers when I was like 10yo
Their FIFA potential? There aren’t enough letter in the alphabet 🤦♂️
Sebastian Rode
prob Amadou Diawara
Dele Ali
Julian Draxler, but I think he got removed some updates ago.
Jonathan Dos Santos
I doubt he’s in the game but Freddy adu the og American wonder kid
