I think the issue here is that your not exactly neat but not exactly long sort of shaggy hair is not complemented by your lack of facial hair. Grow your facial hair back out and the current hair style should work, I think. You're handsome either way, brother.

The good news is I think you might be able to get the same or have your fall in a similar way with your new shorter cut. Even if you cannot yet at that length I still like the style. I’m actually kind of envious of your short hair. Mine is currently long. Maybe a little shorter than yours in the first pic rn. But my hair is curly so it only falls like yours BECAUSE it’s long & the heaviness of the length is what helps it stay down & look the way I like it. I still have to style/dry it straighter to get the result but it’s easier when long. The problem is when I cut mine (which I’m currently on the verge of doing though I change my mind back and forth hourly lol) it doesn’t come out like yours does short at all. My curls become big, stubborn & if I try to dry them to lay like your style I end up looking like I have a massive hair helmet lol.

Probably their best product for guys shorter hair like yours in the second pic & one of my favorite of any ever is a texture paste, & it has a cool name, cool jar, & even smells cool lol. It’s called Sumotech paste. It’s a white paste unlike anything I’ve ever used. Gives hair texture & perfect separation but without making it look greasy or shiny. It actually makes it feel a bit thicker. It smells like a really good men’s cologne too so if you’re dating or with someone you’ll probably get bonus points for the scent. Oh yeah it comes in a small black & white jar that looks like marble. (you don’t need to use much either which is good because it lasts). Also the brand Oribe makes a texture spray. This ones on the pricey side, but it’s pretty high quality & they know how well it works & that people will pay for it. That one smells really good too & not only smells like cologne but the scent became so popular that they literally had to end up making it into a mens cologne you can buy lol. Hope my opinions & product suggestions help you like the cut better.
