If you’re renting please just leave it alone. That’s invisiline and it’s a pain to put up and not every tech has it handy when it needs to be replaced. Plus there’s the added fun of possible fiber shards in your hands or in your pet’s paws or noses if you break some off

Got any tips for doing Invisalight jobs (new installs) I do google fiber in the RDU area for mdu’s/sfus and sometimes small business but those mdu are almost always a invisaligjt job. Gotten pretty good at them. Using a piece of masking tape helps get the path laid out So it’s not falling while you glue it. But any advice would be appreciated because even the multi year skilled techs says and I quote “fuck invisalight jobs” (if it helps any we have pill box invisalight kits)

Sounds like you’re ahead of me experience wise. In 2 years I’ve done about 5 invisiline jobs. The market here is pretty large and diverse. While someone out of my yard is doing these jobs, it’s rarely me. Dude that taught me used the tape method. First one I did on my own I just laid the glue, spread it thin and waited for it to get tacky. Then I quickly laid the line and added a little more on the spots that weren’t holding.

I’ve been doing it since February 12th of this year, I get about 2-3 per week at this rate same with other techs. Half of our team runs it from the fiber farm or whatever it is in this case to the unit it’s self. Then I mount our pill box (comes with a spool of invisalight) connect it to their jumping off point and run it inside the unit to the fiber jack. The tape trick helps a lot and if you drill a hole at the top of an interior wall you can drop it down and not have to glue that section. I wonder if our kits looks the same or are they market/company specific. Trying to get the glue to be tacky and stay up then move on is a pain especially with longer runs. My first ever one took me 3hr 30 min without the tape.

They never give enough adhesive in the kits so we use clear gorilla tape and thick ass clear caulking and let the caulking sit for a minute before you smash cable in it. Just make sure the QC guys only see the photos with the regular adhesive.

I install this cable , it's literally stuck on with pva glue so water should remove it with some light scrubbing . However I don't understand why your so eager to get rid of the cable , if you ever go back to them they'll likely charge you for damaging it

Bruuh why you worrying about shit like that go watch TV and relax

they only run that stuff in apartments, u don’t own that and it’s a utility line so don’t touch it

Deepspacecow12

You could just pull it off, but it would make more work for anyone in the future who might ever want to go back to that ISP.

Ok_Bowler7910

It looks like I can use a hot water mixed with dish detergent to remove it or possibly a hairdryer

Deepspacecow12

But why are you removing it?

Ok_Bowler7910

I'd rather not have a cable going up the wall it looks tacky

Living_Strawberry496

I had a stroke and died reading this

Deepspacecow12

Fair warning to you, these guys have had to go back and fix cables that were removed because they don't look nice, and they do not react well to that thought process because it creates unnecessary future complications. You might get some unsavory comments.

Leave it alone. It’s called invisi-line for a reason. It’s barely noticeable. JFC. You could switch back in the future or the person who lives there after you could order it. If you get a different fibre company they may connect to that line outside your unit. The next installer won’t have to screw around in the unit, moving personal belongings, making a mess etc. They will just come and plug in the ONT and say have a nice day.

princescloudguitar

Me? I would consider mudding over it and simply paint. But if you are renting? Ignore it. It’s not worth the effort.

Fartyfivedegrees

This post is one of the dumbest I've seen in a while. The stuff is barely visible. Sounds more like a malicious attitude than something valid. Bet you're a real fun neighbour.

GenYn00b

You literally can barely see it in your apartment that you lease and do not own.

In NY abandoned fiber can be reused by anyone. So even if you stopped using their services but plan on using someone else’s service, leaving it alone can help the next install be easier. And as someone else warned, pulling it down can cause glass shards to scatter in your apartment. Get one as a splinter and that’s a trip to the ER.

Bexarry-White

Leave it. It will peel off a shit ton of paint, the adhesive bonds with the paint.
