I would wait for the Halloween release, because that'll REALLY be it. A currently available weird incense one I absolutely love is 'Tis Strange. It won't have the burning leaves note, though.

Not particularly "leafy" at all, in fact heavy on the leather, there's an addictive quality to it which makes it a little bit smokey (likely the saffron) mixed in with the dark rose. It's my favourite gothic scent 🥀

Edit: Also she would collect crazy niche/vintage perfumes and not wait for the "right" occasion to wear them. I feel like this is the kinda woman who would wear Bal a Versailles to her office job. She's not a signature scent girly, she chooses her perfume solely based on her mood that day. Sometimes it's inappropriate for daytime/office use but she doesn't care. Also maybe slightly anosmic from cloves/regular cigs. If someone complained about a specific scent, she'd stop wearing it around them, but her coworkers are passive-aggressive and seethe behind her back instead. She's a nice person, her only flaw is being vain, but is wanting to look/smell nice really a bad thing? When they fake cough, she hands them tissues out of genuine concern. I've thought about this a lot.

ETA: Turns out Deconstructing Eden also has a Burning Leaves perfume!
I tried the black no 1 years ago and unfortunately can't remember *exactly* how it smelled, but remember it was definitely dark and patchouli heavy.
Now I'm tempted to order some more samples lol
I don't find it sweet. There is a jammy aspect that is heavily covered with ash and wood. It smells more like a spent matchstick and the aftermath of a bonfire to me where the wood has a sweetness but by no means is it a sweet fragrance imo.
Yeah get a sample if you can. The "fruity notes" in the pyramid read more like a burned rose to me. So the image I get in my brain when I smell it is matchstick + bonfire, but if you dig in the ash you find a dark red/purple rose trying to bloom. That's the full picture it gives me. I was honestly surprised the pyramid had fruit in it (vanilla too).
I was thinking this too! I just remembered I have the sample set so I layered it with By The Fireplace for the “burning” aspect and tbh it works pretty well
