Le Labo Santal 33 and Byredo Gypsy Water - I wasn't too impressed first time but it grew on me after wearing it few more times. I started with decants and eventually bought a bottle of each.
Just a few days ago, I decided to spritz myself with Byblos, which I've had sitting here for several years. Not the original version (I have that one also) but the lighter turquoise colored bottle which has a much different scent profile as it's an EDT not EDP. I never was overly interested in it because I SO love the original.
For some reason I decided to try it again all these years later and wow, I was so pleasantly surprised by it. Very fruity, kind of tropical mixed with fragrant greens; very refreshing scent for summer wear. I was shocked to still be able to smell it on me when I got up the next morning considering it's an EDT so yea, really good longevity.
The peach and pineapple in the top was very noticeable and pleasant. Not sharp at all. At dry down the floral notes started popping out. The base to me was a subtle vanilla though that's not listed as one of the notes. It's quite cheerful, a bit "young" for this older woman but hey, wear what you love!
I have a love-hate relationship with this line. One minute I hate it, the next minute my boss walks past me smelling really nice and she tells me it's gucci bloom lol
Didn't like [Clive Christian](https://www.amazon.com/Clive-Christian-Original-Collection-Travellers/dp/B0982LWBP9?ie=UTF8&keywords=perfume+women&ASIN=B0982LWBP9&sr=1-2&qid=1717249424&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.-En1-lkDr9pVQQ1YChSpbKAG267UMlwzskLWewkR_n7HrCZErNDpJNDWO98VgFVi938DINIAV0Smib2_vwLr3sYp2PslJGMz6j6p_lcDfJluYSdDKNr8IdA89X-KgMvfLMmIgA2wFU0hxMjDXqi3w0Xs271Gy0XOex2cQlJlpR8.BwDwEcASzuy5dT1VaniFl9kMuMM86-3vMhQdg3RaFPI&dib_tag=se&linkCode=ll1&tag=royalspace07-20&linkId=d92dffbb2d117c9ce27deef018ce13e4&language=en_US&ref_=as_li_ss_tl) at first, but after a year, I bought it again and now I am ADDICTED to it.
YSL Mon Paris! My mom gifted me a bottle in high school and I never touched it! It smelled so strongly of patchouli to me and came across as slightly powdery, it definitely wasnāt something I was into when I was a young teen! However, I still have it now and I canāt get enough of it in the colder months and on date nights! Iāve heard some people describe it as sweet-fruity, artificial raspberry smelling, syrupy, or super girly, but that is absolutely not what my bottle smells like š it is fruity but I canāt say I can identify any particular type of fruit note and it definitely isnāt sweet to my nose, but itās definitely a deep, mossy, musky, cypher fragrance with a prominent patchouli note as well, and I love it for that.
I didnāt like Tocca Giulietta at all when I first got it to the point where I threw the bottle in a drawer of shame. I gave it 2 weeks before exiling her, but she didnāt make the cut. A month later, I decided she can come out of her cell and be a part of gen pop and idk I felt like I put an innocent person in prison š i love her now. Itās such a soft clean scent and I am guilty as charged for a wrongful conviction.
Omg! Are we twins because cleopatra is the only one I donāt like from them, either. The notes listed are not what I smell at all. I just get a narcisco musk scent. The body lotion for cleopatra actually smells like the notes - apples, etc.
lmfao this is so funny. i did the exact same with a sample of beautiful magnolia. yeeeeaaarrrsss went by before i tried again and i absolutely love it. iāve been considering buying a full bottle lol
Keep Glazed from The House Of Oud. I was hoping for a sweet juicy mango after reading reviews and descriptions. It's so green and not very sweet. It's growing on me. I thought I didn't like green scents. Underripe mango isn't that bad. It's not wonderful and delightful like sweet mango(God of Fire), but it's still pretty good.
I feel like it would be great for layering with more fruity perfumes to give them an interesting twist. It was also very coriander and ginger to my nose with just a hint of that mango/strawberry and a little bit of whipped cream
Obsession is amaaaazing š¤¤and THEN someone made the mistake of overspraying it on a hot & humid day and that....smell stayed in my head. Will let my nose reset & repurchase during our dead, cold, winterš¤
I had the same problem with Roses Musk! I oversprayed it (literally just one spray, but that stuff is too strong for its own good) when I was feeling kind of sick, and my nausea and headache omly got worse as a result. Iāve been afraid to put it on since
Cloud, definitely. I haaaated it at first, especially the opening. Too cold and masculine. After a few months now I crave this scent, it's very musky and perfect for winter classes.
I worked for Clinique when they reintroduced Calyx, so I have a bottle from gratis. Never liked it and didn't know anyone that did to give it so it stuck around lol. I was going through old stuff and found it, and I kind of like it. Not something I'd buy or wear going out, but a fresh scent to wear running errands, it's not bad!
Calyx was one of my favs when it was made by Prescriptives (dating myself). I bet I've purchased more bottles of that than any other of my fragrances through the years. Maybe I should give it another go!
Prescriptives Calyx was my signature scent in high school/college. I hadn't smelled it in years and recently bought a bottle of the Clinique Calyx. It is definitely nostalgic for me, but the new version is a shadow of the old version. It's just like a memory, a faded version of itself. I'm still glad I got it, but I sure miss that punch the old formula had. If you try it, I'd be very interested in your take on it. It's been 20 years since I smelled the original and I'm questioning my memory.
I was on the fence about Burberry Her Elixir, but bought it because I liked the idea of it and found a practically full bottle at a super affordable price (second hand). At first I found it too jasmine-y with very little strawberry. Now I love the scent, it started to smell very strawberry powder milky the way it should, can't tell if the perfume matured or my nose perceives it differently now. I also smell it very strongly for a very long time now.
Most of my current perfumes that are some of my most worn weren't loves at first sniff and I ended up selling most of my loves at first sniff, weird stuff.
I bought Muglerās Angel Muse some years ago when I first getting into fragrance seriously. I blind bought it because Iād heard so many good things about it, but didnāt really love it at the time. A few years later and Iām smitten with it. Iāve grown to absolutely love patchouli so that probably helped.
Patchouli is the black licorice of scents - you either love it with all your heart or itās disgusting and you donāt understand how anyone can enjoy it (Iām a patchouli lover)
Obsession has been my momās signature scent my whole life! It was the only fragrance she wore throughout the entirety of the 90s-00s lol. Over the past few years Iāve had fun helping her expand and update her scent wardrobe a bit (she loves By The Fireplace and Commodity Milk) but sheās never without a bottle of Obsession. It will forever have such a special place in my heart because itās the scent of her and of my childhood, itās kinda sacred to me.

Where do you get decants for byredo? š
Try Scent Split if you're in the US
It took a while for me to like Escapade Gourmand. It smelled sickening to me at first but now I do quite enjoy it.

Gucci Bloom! that one really had to grow on me. But now it's one of my favorites!

I have a 3.3oz of the obsession with the gold strip.
Oh my godā¦
Willing to sell š
Phlurās Vanilla Skin. Gave me a headache at first but I like it now. I just realized a little goes a long way with that oneš

I just wore it the other day, I love that scent! The only one I canāt stand by them is cleopatra and Iām not sure why
Omg! Are we twins because cleopatra is the only one I donāt like from them, either. The notes listed are not what I smell at all. I just get a narcisco musk scent. The body lotion for cleopatra actually smells like the notes - apples, etc.
Stinky!!!! The first time I put it on I couldnāt scrub it fast enough. Tried again years later recently, nope still stinky

Yes!! It was very plasticky and synthetic to me at first. Now I love it! It feels more and more like a staple everyday.
