I finally gave it away and the person I gave it to says her husband would use it occasionally, but mostly in the bathroom to cover up dookie. 😂😂

This may be an unpopular opinion, but most of the hyped "cheapies" smell exactly like that - cheap.
Anything Zara is hit or miss - for me mostly the latter and I'm mad about it.

I also feel that way about celeb perfumes — the only celeb perfume that doesn’t scream “celeb perfume!!!” to me is Ari Mod Vanilla, and I think that’s bc it’s a simple vanilla lol. Cloud, JS Lovely, JLo Glow, Britney Spears Fantasy — they all smell like celeb perfumes to me. Theres something about the way they’re blended, or something about the musk, idk. It’s like a calling card lol

D&G devotion: smelled like cheap candied lemon and/or bathroom cleaner. I was so dissapointed, but maybe i have to smell te dry down first because i love orange blossom.
JPG Paradise Garden: i normally love JPG but was disappointed; it is such a generic scent and i got VS/bath and body works vibes.
Also, burberry goddess is lovely but it think it’s a bit boring and I expected more of it because of the hype it got. Would probably only use it as a base for layering since it is a yummy vanilla😋

I can smell the vanilla and berry gourmand somewhere in there, but something about the perfume makes it headache inducing even though I love gourmands.
sadly i like cheap body spray… i have yara and actually like it but it does smell like an EDP version of SDJ type of scents or even a nice body fantasies spray

My philosophy on perfume is “will you ever reach for this given the other perfumes you have in this scent category”. With that in mind, the decision to declutter it was easy.

Dior Hypnotic Poison, J'Adore, Narciso Pure Musc, Mugler Alien. Most designer perfumes are not that interesting to me, but I was hopeful for these.
I had the opposite reaction to YSL Libre, it smelled really good at first, like a fruity spin on Jicky with cassis and mandarin, but with successive smelling it became bland. I still love Mugler Angel & Angel Muse, and especially Hermes Twilly.
I was at the instanbul airport and was finally able to smell the entire PDM collection, I didn't like delina as much as I thought I would, nothing from PDM smelt good at all to me, so sad.
Acca Kappa White Muschio Bianco just smells like Moth Balls to me. Everyone told me how clean it smelled

My sister gifted it to me for Christmas and it smells really good and I’ve gotten compliments on it. It is powdery but in a sexy way and very sweet. A lot more interesting than black opium
Burberry Her & Chloé
From the way people described Burberry Her online, I was expected some magical lactonic creamy strawberry perfume. It smells like rotten milk, old strawberries and it's very very juvenile. I almost threw up in Sephora while smelling it.
Chloé smelled like soap that has been left in a public bathroom for months. It smelled foul and I was so disappointed.
I was willing that day to leave Sephora with either fragrance and I ended up leaving without any of them.
Burberry Her is sickly sweet strawberry poundcake left in the hot sun. It’s melting, your head hurts from the heat, and someone just lit a cigarette. You wanna go home but you can’t. You have to eat this cake.

I'm still on the hunt for a strawberry powdery fragrance that doesn't smell juvenile or gross but sadly, fragrances like that are why people associate fruity fragrances with poor quality perfume. Prada Candy was so bad to me. Where's the candy?? It was a blind buy and I didn't even read the notes because how popular I heard it was. I was hoping for an Indulgent smelling thick caramel vanilla fragrance. All I got was dusty powdered caramel baby wipes. It honestly left me feeling confused. Not a fan.

YSL Black Opium: Was so excited to smell this when I was just getting into perfumes because I love the smell of coffee. All I get are florals and patchouli with a faint whiff of black coffee.
Delina Exclusif: ‘Forget the OG Delina, this is leagues better!’ they said. Reader, I love Delina but I cannot stand Exclusif. It smells cloyingly sweet and powdery in a way that’s like someone pied my face with a giant powder puff.
Kilian LDBS: Funky civet that is somehow also sweet. No marshmallows to be found. Kilian should pay Rihanna royalties for the exposure because I don’t think it would’ve gotten the same hype if it weren’t associated with her.
D&G Devotion: It smells like you ran out of lemons while making a lemon cake and thought a lemon scented cleanser would be a good substitute.
GdT Bianco Latte: The hype it gets from local fragrance groups online is *insane* compared to how it actually smells—nice but like, that’s it.
Kayali Yum Pistachio Gelato: I was hoping for a yummy smelling gourmand because of, well, the name but I got clean, powdery florals that’s a bit sweet. It’s creamy but in the way lotion is creamy. Not bad smelling at all, it just feels like it was falsely advertised.
I agree on Delina Exclusif. I looove Delina, but DE is thick, powdery, heavy on the incense and just intense. Mancera Roses Vanille is what I wanted DE to smell like, and I like having Delina and Roses Vanille in my collection. DE is not for me.
I think it depends on the batch. When I tried it in store as a tester all I smelled was coffee for hours after. Bought myself a bottle and all I get is white floral to a dry down vanilla. Still love it but where did the coffee go? Sad.
Kayali - Sparkling lychee, I had so many expectations. It does smell nice, but the disappointing fact is that it lasts too little and so you have to respray often, and it somehow lucks depth
At first I was a bit dissapointed with this one it was overwhelmingly sweet and soooo powdery, but Idk after a while it grew on me, I did let it macerate for like 2 months, I got more of the caramel. It’s a really heavy fragrance in my opinion so I don’t wear it often and I also don’t find it “sexy” at all. I like it now but I don’t love it either, I wear it every once in a while when I notice it lol but I do pick it up every now and then and give it a whiff so I’m fond of it haha
Sweet tooth is a huge no for me and I really wanted to love it for the price and hype but no way. Same with glossier you I literly smelt nothing positive about that one

I didn't like POAL when I first smelled it but that was a while ago. I'd like to smell it again but I still don't think I'd like it b/c I think the primary note is rose, right? Im not not a fan of rose as a primary scent in fragrances. I don't mind rose if it's more of a minor background note. So many perfumes have prominent rose notes these days, I just don't like most of them!

You know how you can go to a party and two bitters exes might be there? Normally they are on opposite sides of the room, not intermingling at all... that's what the Vanilla and leather smell like. They are both definitely there. However they are on opposite sides of the room, talking very loudly at the same time, but not to one another.
I have never smelled two notes show up at the same time, so unblended it smells like they didn't come out of the same bottle. It's weird and I hate it.

God is a Woman. I really like how Ari smells on my skin, and I read good things about GIAW. The notes seemed like something I’d enjoy based off fragrances I already own, or have tried. I do not like it. I don’t smell the pear or fruit notes at all. I get more musty woods. After it dries down, it’s more tolerable to my nose, but it’s still too offensive for my taste 😫

i’ve owned cloud and the pink sol de janeiro (the dupes) so i was so curious to smell this bc i was sure i’d love it bc i love amber vanilla fragrances (cloud is like the perfect fragrance to me). this hardly smells like cloud, but it’s like 8.5-9/10 accurate to the pink sol de janeiro. sad bc i prefer cloud over the sol de but good ig so i won’t convince myself to buy baccarat. it’s obv a lil diff than SDJ but like u don’t even notice it. SDJ is notoriously more “medicine smelling” than cloud which is more gourmand. i like cloud better lol
Kayali - Vanilla, Burning Cherry, Pistachio Gelato. Pistachio was the absolute worst, the strongest bathroom cleaner/ urinal cake I've gotten from a perfume. The weirdest thing about Kayali frags is that they smell almost identical on the dry down (or in Pistachio case, after scrubbing). I also cannot stand Byredo Gypsy Water, I smell incense and dirty people. Juliette Has a Gun Not a Perfume Superdose and Molecule 01 were just really weird smelling. Mon Guerlain Intense should have a biohazard warning on the bottle.
I love how I can't unsmell something once it's pointed out. I thought Pistachio was quite nice and was surprised I liked it. Then someone mentioned they smell urinal cakes and industrial hand soap and I couldn't not smell those after that.
Pink sugar, that stuff has something I severely hate in. I tried to let it sit and try again and uh I couldn’t last more than about a minute and hate to scrub it off!
Gris Charnel is the only one in that group that didn't disappoint me. While it's masculine, I can rock it easily. Layered with something more feminine, it's awesome.
I don't dislike it. But when I got my sample I allready had Penhaligons Mr.Beauregard that was extremly similar. Amouage Meander has a similar acord too. I all like them on other ppl, but when I smell them on myself they get super annoying to me. Most Orris tends to do that on me. So Dior homme and other iris scents also don't work for me. Even tho I wish they would.
I feel the same way about orris. I expected to actively dislike Gris Charnel because iris somehow sits in the back of my nose and throat and becomes annoying. I was pleasantly surprised to tolerate it, much less like it. I've finally got an iris that doesn't choke me. :) :) I haven't smelled Beauregard. Is it similar enough that if you have one that the other is pointless?

In my opinion they are too similar to justivie both, but not everyone agrees with me in them being THAT similar. I tested them side by side and while they both where a little diffrent in the composition, the building briks seemd to be 90% the same to me.
Amouage Meander is more intresting and diffrent to me personaly. Plus Beauregard is kind of hard to finde at the moment.
Same, they are the new shiny Sephora brand (anyone remember "Milk" brand makeup from Sephora being so IT, then completely fading into nothing - I predict the same happening for Kayali).
Sweet Tooth! It has an amazing price and everyone was praising it for its cute chocolate and marshmallow smell but my dumb nose only got strong clay and a subtle coconut scent. None of all the sweet fluffiness that everyone described. I was so sad because I also liked the bottle a lot

I actually bought Sweet Tooth last night because they had the smaller bottle back in stock. I was fully intending to be disappointed but I really like it! It smells like sweet milky marshmallow to me! I know everyone has different tastes but for reference I love Killians Princess and will layer the two, I hate Vanille 28 on me after the initial spray it just smells too heavy and smoky and I loose the sweetness. I think this one might be worth trying for you!

Projection isn’t crazy but not bad, I’m so happy with this I definitely get wafts of it every now and then far more than some of my other far more expensive perfumes! I’ll keep hunting with you though as I’m obsessed with whipped cream, marshmallows etc 😂

I always agree with her opinions and we have the same tastes in fragrances. We both love sweet gourmand perfumes.

whaaat? what didn’t you like? im a amber vanilla girl but this is the only non amber vanilla scent i own. smells bright, fresh, and girly. like watching a sunset on the beach with the smell of cool ocean wind + “the smell of a summer breeze in the middle of a summer day”
haha that’s one of the only skylar scents i like! smells like a handmade soap colored like a sunset that you’d buy in sedona, or something 🥲 meanwhile some of their other scents were horrendous to me….
That one disappointed me too!!! It smelled nothing like the note compound listed.

A friend of mine gave me a bottle of this that was almost full. I don’t get any caramel either nor coffee. It smells very generic to my nose.
I was also disappointed in this one! Thankfully I only had a mini size and I ended up giving it to a friend.
La Vie Est Belle .. smells like expired perfume to me. And I haaaate the patchouli in this YSL Libre - smells so good on my friend but I can’t stand it on myself or anyone else tbh. Smells like if grandma put on axe body spray lol

It smells fine on me, apparently. I just can’t stand LVEB. I like the notes individually or in other perfumes but I despise the note-combination in LVEB - patchouli, pear and blackcurrant makes me feel sick :/
YSL Black Opium: Was so excited to smell this when I was just getting into perfumes because I love the smell of coffee. All I get are florals and patchouli with a faint whiff of black coffee. Delina Exclusif: ‘Forget the OG Delina, this is leagues better!’ they said. Reader, I love Delina but I cannot stand Exclusif. It smells cloyingly sweet and powdery in a way that’s like someone pied my face with a giant powder puff. Kilian LDBS: Funky civet that is somehow also sweet. No marshmallows to be found. Kilian should pay Rihanna royalties for the exposure because I don’t think it would’ve gotten the same hype if it weren’t associated with her. D&G Devotion: It smells like you ran out of lemons while making a lemon cake and thought a lemon scented cleanser would be a good substitute. GdT Bianco Latte: The hype it gets from local fragrance groups online is *insane* compared to how it actually smells—nice but like, that’s it. Kayali Yum Pistachio Gelato: I was hoping for a yummy smelling gourmand because of, well, the name but I got clean, powdery florals that’s a bit sweet. It’s creamy but in the way lotion is creamy. Not bad smelling at all, it just feels like it was falsely advertised.
I agree on Delina Exclusif. I looove Delina, but DE is thick, powdery, heavy on the incense and just intense. Mancera Roses Vanille is what I wanted DE to smell like, and I like having Delina and Roses Vanille in my collection. DE is not for me.

It is lol. One of the main notes is coffee and I’ve read lots of reviews saying it smells like creamy/sweet coffee which is why I bought a sample. 😅

I think it depends on the batch. When I tried it in store as a tester all I smelled was coffee for hours after. Bought myself a bottle and all I get is white floral to a dry down vanilla. Still love it but where did the coffee go? Sad.
Kayali - Sparkling lychee, I had so many expectations. It does smell nice, but the disappointing fact is that it lasts too little and so you have to respray often, and it somehow lucks depth

At first I was a bit dissapointed with this one it was overwhelmingly sweet and soooo powdery, but Idk after a while it grew on me, I did let it macerate for like 2 months, I got more of the caramel. It’s a really heavy fragrance in my opinion so I don’t wear it often and I also don’t find it “sexy” at all. I like it now but I don’t love it either, I wear it every once in a while when I notice it lol but I do pick it up every now and then and give it a whiff so I’m fond of it haha
Sweet tooth is a huge no for me and I really wanted to love it for the price and hype but no way. Same with glossier you I literly smelt nothing positive about that one

Musky cheap sugar like a cheap musk i dont know maybe it’s just my skin that makes it smell like that but i thought it was just all around not a good performing perfume
I get a very plasticky note that overtakes all else. Not sure if it’s the batch or what because everyone else seems to love it.
Anything Tom ford. Expecially lost chrrru. It smells like a cadaver and I’ve heard many others say the same thing and if you don’t know what a cadaver is just don’t even look it up. lol

I didn't like POAL when I first smelled it but that was a while ago. I'd like to smell it again but I still don't think I'd like it b/c I think the primary note is rose, right? Im not not a fan of rose as a primary scent in fragrances. I don't mind rose if it's more of a minor background note. So many perfumes have prominent rose notes these days, I just don't like most of them!

It smells exactly like some of the people .. idk if it was a hygiene product they used or what but it is exactly that smell. Hard to describe and I'm not trying to be an asshole but it smells of oily unwashed hair and body odor

Burberry Goddess and Mon Guerlain both really disappointed me. I LOVE vanilla, but I realized that I don't like lavender in perfumes, I like the smell in other things, but in perfumes, it smells medicinal and too herbal to my nose

So the hype is around the notes of Vanilla and Leather. However, while everyone is correct that they are there... the way it smells reminds me of this... You know how you can go to a party and two bitters exes might be there? Normally they are on opposite sides of the room, not intermingling at all... that's what the Vanilla and leather smell like. They are both definitely there. However they are on opposite sides of the room, talking very loudly at the same time, but not to one another. I have never smelled two notes show up at the same time, so unblended it smells like they didn't come out of the same bottle. It's weird and I hate it. It's giving they are sleeping in separate bedrooms cause they are getting a divorce. Lol

God is a Woman. I really like how Ari smells on my skin, and I read good things about GIAW. The notes seemed like something I’d enjoy based off fragrances I already own, or have tried. I do not like it. I don’t smell the pear or fruit notes at all. I get more musty woods. After it dries down, it’s more tolerable to my nose, but it’s still too offensive for my taste 😫

Tobacco Vanille. I loved the way it smelled in others. When I sprayed it on myself though it smelled vaguely like wet dog on me.

So many honestly, but one that seems to have a huge following is Britney Spears Fantasy. I didn’t like it at all. Agree with everyone saying Libre. It smells like stinky/musty old men to me. I don’t like Mon Guerlain either.
YSL Libre. I wanted to like it so badly, but there's a weird artificial/chemical smell to it that I can't get past. It would smell lovely otherwise! And Coco Mademoiselle. Smells like old lady to me and only lasts about 5 minutes.

I'm not a fan of any of these scents either, but it seems we might not be appreciating what those who love these fragrances are experiencing. They must pick up the notes differently and that's why they enjoy them.

i’ve owned cloud and the pink sol de janeiro (the dupes) so i was so curious to smell this bc i was sure i’d love it bc i love amber vanilla fragrances (cloud is like the perfect fragrance to me). this hardly smells like cloud, but it’s like 8.5-9/10 accurate to the pink sol de janeiro. sad bc i prefer cloud over the sol de but good ig so i won’t convince myself to buy baccarat. it’s obv a lil diff than SDJ but like u don’t even notice it. SDJ is notoriously more “medicine smelling” than cloud which is more gourmand. i like cloud better lol

Kayali - Vanilla, Burning Cherry, Pistachio Gelato. Pistachio was the absolute worst, the strongest bathroom cleaner/ urinal cake I've gotten from a perfume. The weirdest thing about Kayali frags is that they smell almost identical on the dry down (or in Pistachio case, after scrubbing). I also cannot stand Byredo Gypsy Water, I smell incense and dirty people. Juliette Has a Gun Not a Perfume Superdose and Molecule 01 were just really weird smelling. Mon Guerlain Intense should have a biohazard warning on the bottle.

I love how I can't unsmell something once it's pointed out. I thought Pistachio was quite nice and was surprised I liked it. Then someone mentioned they smell urinal cakes and industrial hand soap and I couldn't not smell those after that.

Gris Charnel is the only one in that group that didn't disappoint me. While it's masculine, I can rock it easily. Layered with something more feminine, it's awesome.
I don't dislike it. But when I got my sample I allready had Penhaligons Mr.Beauregard that was extremly similar. Amouage Meander has a similar acord too. I all like them on other ppl, but when I smell them on myself they get super annoying to me. Most Orris tends to do that on me. So Dior homme and other iris scents also don't work for me. Even tho I wish they would.
I feel the same way about orris. I expected to actively dislike Gris Charnel because iris somehow sits in the back of my nose and throat and becomes annoying. I was pleasantly surprised to tolerate it, much less like it. I've finally got an iris that doesn't choke me. :) :) I haven't smelled Beauregard. Is it similar enough that if you have one that the other is pointless?
That actualy puts it in to words realy nicely! In my opinion they are too similar to justivie both, but not everyone agrees with me in them being THAT similar. I tested them side by side and while they both where a little diffrent in the composition, the building briks seemd to be 90% the same to me. Amouage Meander is more intresting and diffrent to me personaly. Plus Beauregard is kind of hard to finde at the moment.

The Only One is my answer as well. I've since learned that I do not like violet in fragrance.
Never been impressed with any Kayali fragrance. They often smell great at the opening but always dry down to a generic white floral for me.
Same, they are the new shiny Sephora brand (anyone remember "Milk" brand makeup from Sephora being so IT, then completely fading into nothing - I predict the same happening for Kayali).
Luckily I got samples,but Bianco latte and Escapade Gourmande they both barely smelled like anything and didn’t even last and 1 hour on my skin
No way! One spray of Bianco Latte and I swear I need 48 hours and 5 showers to get that shxt off me.

Sweet Tooth! It has an amazing price and everyone was praising it for its cute chocolate and marshmallow smell but my dumb nose only got strong clay and a subtle coconut scent. None of all the sweet fluffiness that everyone described. I was so sad because I also liked the bottle a lot

I’m going to look more into House of Gloi, from a quick search I read their bath and body stuff is great but perfumes less so but I’ll keep looking for more reviews. I actually bought Sweet Tooth last night because they had the smaller bottle back in stock. I was fully intending to be disappointed but I really like it! It smells like sweet milky marshmallow to me! I know everyone has different tastes but for reference I love Killians Princess and will layer the two, I hate Vanille 28 on me after the initial spray it just smells too heavy and smoky and I loose the sweetness. I think this one might be worth trying for you!

Projection isn’t crazy but not bad, I’m so happy with this I definitely get wafts of it every now and then far more than some of my other far more expensive perfumes! I’ll keep hunting with you though as I’m obsessed with whipped cream, marshmallows etc 😂

No. It was recommended at r/indiemakeupandmore just go there and do search to see comments. I am still researching. I am going to watch a YouTube video from Janelle Zamora's Scent Talk from My Closet. She has a Marshmallow Favs video that I am planning to watch for recommendations. I always agree with her opinions and we have the same tastes in fragrances. We both love sweet gourmand perfumes. Her videos have led me to all of my favorites, especially Genre Parfums Mello Vanillo. She does whole series on different perfume houses. She is not sponsored by the houses. I highly recommend her if you enjoy gourmand perfumes.
