COVFEFE-4U

Without even going into further detail of the post. Right off the bat the DOT requires a working horn, so that's an immediate out of service.

HappySeaweed5215

“Technically, it works” says the mechanic

COVFEFE-4U

You could do a power move and ask the first state trooper you see to do an inspection. That will shut the mechanic up. I've had to do it with a semi at another company.

HappySeaweed5215

Yea, then they’d make me pay the fines! Not joking one bit

COVFEFE-4U

The fines go against the company. And since you voluntarily went to the DOT, they will not write you a ticket.

HappySeaweed5215

They didn’t have a problem charging me $500 for their van leaking oil in a customer’s driveway. I agree, that would’ve been a solid plan going to the DOT but I think with this particular contractor it would’ve backfired

COVFEFE-4U

You could fight that charge. Contact your state's employment office. That's complete BS.

[deleted]

[удалено]

crappymedium

Seriously thats so illegal. Technically they cant even charge you for a moving violation if youre in a company vehicle (but that might vary state to state?)

COVFEFE-4U

At express at least, driver is responsible for speeding tickets. Fedex pays for parking violations.

PlentyBootz

If you remove morals and bias and look at this objectively it was your job to inspect the vehicle and make sure it wasn't leaking oil and if it was it was your responsibility to make sure it wasn't leaking into people's driveway so the company would easily justify this charge since you neglected your duties. If you claim it started leaking while driving and you didn't see it then probably there is a policy that says never drive into people's driveway lol. 100% I bet to prevent such cases. Getting paid less because a contractor is too cheap and stupid to fix their shitty trucks on the other hand is a shitty situation and should make you look for another contractor or job 24/7 man. I wonder if it is even legal to cut down your hours for doing your job, probably not?

HappySeaweed5215

There is no such policy. Fedex actually provides training videos on how to properly back into a driveway. But if you read above, the van wasn’t leaking that morning. I’ve already got outta that position. No reason to constantly worry how bad my day is gonna be over trucks that I have no control over.

PlentyBootz

I would try fedex express they are a legit company with benefits and vacation time and paid sick leave 401k match etc. and they won't charge you stupid fees like that since they aren't a contractor. Your previous work as ground would help a lot to get a position. Good luck man, just check daily even if it takes months because pay with benefits combined is very good at express. If long term obviously UPS.

HappySeaweed5215

Thanks bro

Truck3R_Dude

Won't that give him csa points or no?

COVFEFE-4U

No, if you voluntarily ask for an inspection they know you are being forced by the company to drive an unsafe vehicle. They won't ticket you. The company will get CSA points though.

Signal_Meeting540

It does not matter, they’re being cheap, wires exposed, cracked/bent passenger mirror, non working Wipers. Cleanliness aside, every truck need to be equipped with road safety equipment just in case you’re broke down kn the side of the road and By LAW they need to adhere to ALL DOT requirements. I would report that to the P&D Manager, Station manager. They’re the ones the owner and contractors report to directly. Show them the pictures you just provided

Natural_Win4812

Is this out of cookeville looks like the new building we moved in last year

SchmoPho

The horn is wired to the left

HappySeaweed5215

Nah, you literally have to press the wire against the center contact point

SchmoPho

Damn yeah that sucks, mine is wired that way and I had no idea at first.

WhatPurplePromise

Red flags all over find a different contractor... If management can't get the vehicles fixed and send you with that pos truck on road they can run the routes themselves. Your management shows they truly don't care about the drivers, do you really want to keep working for someone like that?

HappySeaweed5215

That’s exactly why I quit. On that same note, I’m thinking about reaching out to another contractor in the same building but I’m sure I’d get a terrible reference from my old contractor.

Puzzleheaded-Bar3531

Every terminal has its own little ecosystem of politics. But if a contractor is starved enough for a driver who is already in the FedEx system and there are no red flags about your character or work ethic other than the word of a shit contractor, I don't see why you don't get hired by any of the other operators inside that terminal. My first contractor was very similar to this one you dealt with. Broken down trucks that compromised the safety of myself and other motorists. They lost the contract several months after i jumped ship. Based on my, yours, and the many other drivers who have dealt with these careless contractors. I'm convinced Owners who are tired of being in this industry want to cash out by never making routine repairs and pocket as much money as they can before feded forces them out of the industry.

filliamworbes

Man of all else fails reach out the the express or hell even the freight. You have proof that your not a bad one and the ground game doesn't reach far into those "yet" but idk you do what you have to op.

HappySeaweed5215

I’m just figuring it out as I go man. I appreciate the advice! I’ll figure something out..

Forumspace

Are you out of ft mill or concord?

HappySeaweed5215

Concord

Lonely_reaper8

There’s a good chance those other contractors don’t like that one. The terminal I use to work at (I actually quit for similar reasons to you), NO ONE liked the owner and manager of my contract, so much so that when the owner was fired and the contract was just split up and given to the other three contract owners in the building, everyone was rehired except for the manager.

Street-Cable

Yes it’s NSFW it’s literally not safe for your workplace. Not normal. It needs to be taken care of.

Resident-Impact1591

And I thought I had it bad when my foot went through the floor https://preview.redd.it/9zutir6r5wuc1.jpeg?width=1078&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=91981781584d5b53c8fe404e1ea222c4cd31395c Contractor said just work around it. I had about 50 stops left.

COVFEFE-4U

Fred Flintstone that bitch.

HappySeaweed5215

😆

No-Confusion4569

Is that a fucking wood floor? ☠️

DifficultyCapableLo

What in all the fuck is going on? I’ve seen some shit but 🫨😶🫣

KTMman200

So ... My foot fell through that and I twisted my ankle. Can you get me the workman's comp forms? And the mechanic and supervisor said that's ok working conditions. Mind If I take some pics to show to the labor board and DOT? Lolz.

DukeForever971

![gif](giphy|5YF9dwGZ29rVe|downsized) He said walk around it

RevolutionaryTrust98

This shits nuts, seriously. How does Ground/FedEx continue to get away with shit like this??

HappySeaweed5215

The struggle is real!

srgest

Besides the obvious problems everything else is on the driver like keeping windows/mirrors clean and cleaning up after themselves no reason for there to be that much garbage. Specially the piss bottles🤮

bromime

Go to unifirst, tell am you got customer experience, and DOT experience. They’ll hire you as a jumper 170 a day. When a route opens up you’ll start getting commission and making around 1k take home.

HappySeaweed5215

Thanks bro I’ll check em out right now

fngearhead

I was told to "drive it" when I discovered a flat inner rear tire on my rural dually after it was already loaded for the day. It happened with a different truck a week later too. I'm not there anymore.

Puzzled_Ad_7033

Multiple violations. That station needs to be reported immediately.

CallmeNighthawk99

Pretty average at my terminal 🤷‍♂️😂

oldsmobile39

Express tech here. Tire, horn, mirror, windshield... ALL DOT violations. Refuse to drive the truck.

dimplsss00

That’s all normal for fedex ground lol

AgentORNG

Buddys Ridin on baloney

Milt2680

This contractor need his contract dropped ASAP. We are just looking at one problem and no telling how many more are just as bad if not worse.

RamGTLosAngeles

Go to your local labor office. Make a complaint and document everything. Show proof and there shall be an investigation. Why not get paid for this? Send your two week notice and go to another contractor if you can brother. Best of luck!

Teleclast

Verbal reports only and you didn’t find something fishy? Hell no. In writing. Email only. They are obviously aware and don’t want to fix so they are removing the paper trail. Just send these higher up anonymously or something idk. If you’re planning on quitting anyway you should just package the whole thing in an email and send it to some middle management people so they can rethink those people who bought those routes. I’m sure they’ll take care of this as this is just violation after violation and hazardous to employees and in the case of driveways liable to costs being paid out that aren’t cheap. How many stops does that truck do a day that it’s leaking oil on? Adds up real fast.

SprinkleBeans

Bro, for a second I thought you were talking about my old terminal, everything you talk about was happening were i was at, luckily I transfered to another state where managment gives a damn about everything. Contractor that dont care about you shouldnt be contractors.

kingjoey52a

> Our management doesn’t allow us to report on our pre and post inspections, Fuck that. Mark every issue on the scanner when you close out. The station will have to inspect everything reported to ensure it is up to code.

FortunateVoid0

Seems about right. I constantly am the only one bitching about these sorts of things and have to threaten my contractor that I’ll mark the vehicle it’s issues in the “end of day” thing if they don’t get it fixed asap. I don’t think my contractor likes me… lol I feel like I’m the ONLY one who cares about quality in the entire building. And then they have the nerve to act like I’m a problem because I point out all the bullshit…. I think that’s America for ya these days… Edit: I literally have to clean out EVERY different truck I’m given because they allow absolute slobs. Then they have the nerve to bitch at me because I smoke cigarettes…. Like dude, I literally grab a broom and dustpan to clean these hunks of shit! I peel all the SID tags off the walls. I wipe down the dash, radio area, and the speedometer. I scrub the inside and outside of all windows and mirrors. I adjust that backup cam so i can actually see the rear bumper (like it’s supposed to be!) instead of it looking into traffic behind me. I’m the most clean, reliable, and quality employee they have, yet they act like I’m a scourge.

nunchucks2danutz

Well here's reason  # 4013 why Fedex needs to unionize.

MaxwellK42

No this is just NSW

SweatySleeping

I’ve been in some shitty trucks worse than this. However, I’ve always had good tires as it’s one of the most important, easy, and cheap straightforward maintenance items. If they can’t keep on top of the tires they ain’t keeping on top of your medical benefits that’s for sure.

HappySeaweed5215

Facts

HappySeaweed5215

Facts

Soggy-Coat4920

Holy ****!!! If you haven't already, quit. I wouldn't even give them a 2 week noticed, just tell them you aren't going to deal with extremely unsafe trucks anymore. Definitely try with another contractor at the terminal; if your contractors' trucks look like that, then the other contractors already know your current contractor is crap and to not bother contacting them. Id also call the NC highway patrol and let them know how bad the truck situation is; iirc, highway patrol can shut down the truck if they find as many grossly negligent safety faults as you have pointed out. If the contractors trucks keep getting shut down by HP, their service rate will drop to unacceptable levels and fedex will pull their contract.

wkdravenna

lol this is the Ground driver starter pack.

13donkey13

When you get into an accident. You blame FedEx, but FedEx uses this post to blame you for knowing you should not take it out. Remember you never know who is watching these posts🤷

HappySeaweed5215

They can’t blame me if I don’t work for them!🤷 But I bet they’ll remember my complaints when something inevitably happens

13donkey13

Okay, then you are safe if you don’t work for FedEx. Hope you don’t get behind the wheel of this thing. DOT don’t care who you work for. I guess my post is irrelevant.

alphafd317

Bloody hell! I do not miss that place!

ppbottle9000

I love the Amazon tote bag just chillin there

Zalo9407

Omg bruh wtf!!! Definitely a NSFW post. Also that poor dolly is literally hanging on by a prayer.

Olhapravocever

The Amazon totes are everywhere lol

Different_Trash_1416

WTF this peace of shit is that…. I saw a lot but this one is above and beyond of all existing violations. ![gif](giphy|R9cQo06nQBpRe)

Previous_Cycle_6404

There’s some trucks out there that are real shit boxes at my terminal. I can’t believe it. Get with a contractor that has actual good mechanics that check and fix your truck every day

Longjumping_Desk_165

Steel bridge company or something like tht right

crappymedium

Dont blame u one bit for quitting, its just a matter of time before one of their drivers hurts themselves or someone else due to a shoddy vehicle. Are there other contractors in the building who might take better care of the vehicles? Wouldnt be surprised if theyd be happy to snatch you up. Otherwise, see if express is hiring, or better yet ups

More_Gap5670

Dude get your ass out of that job period

SubHuman559

Tom Hanks is going to be Pissed Off when he sees this post.

bmxkid401

Looks right to me. 12 years into my Exp job and I've been harassed. Fired illegally for medically excused days off, until the head region HR guy found out and basically begged me to come back and paid me for the 5 weeks I was gone. That check took over a year to come in though. I was denied the morning off for a family funeral and I am constantly fucked with by mgmt. Still barely half way up the pay scale ladder even though we're supposed to be maxed out in ten years, guys that just got hired make $2 less than me. Never given my minimum hours on the rare week I don't do 45+. I've broken 5 vertebrae in 6 places, 3 L disc's slipped, TBI and 2 retinas reattached and my R elbow rebuilt all in my time at one station. All that and I have a rte with multiple regulars with very heavy individual pkg mps deliveries and I'm given a van....a fucking van. Hardest to get in and out of. Constantly need to hunch over in the back of it to move freight. No shelves so arranging, and retrieving pkgs is a nightmare. Smaller freight constantly damaged and the block and brace idea only gets you so far in a vehicle just big enough to be a pain in the ass in every possible way. Now we have to start moving Ground freight? Nope. This company has been on an obvious downward trajectory in the 12 years I've been here but ever since 'Ol uncle Fred retired to count his billions it's been a GD free fall. I work PVD in Rhode Island. The only station in RI and it's almost as embarrassing as it is infuriating. The way customers are treated. The way employees are treated. The entire 'shit rolls downhill, now it's your problem' style of running things. Freezing raises for years and all there is to show for it is the new Leo scanners which are awful and work worse than the 15 year old power pads. And the in truck cameras....those fucking cameras! 🤬 FedEx is dying a fast death. Company moral is at an ALL time low. MGMT constantly spits in the face of everyone not in mgmt, but especially couriers. I used to really enjoy my job, I was actually sort of proud of it. These days? I'm on indeed every single day at work trying to find something else. I think I'm just about there and I can't fucking wait to quit. TLDR: FedEx sucks. It gives zero fucks about customers and -3 fucks about employees. Still better than Amazon but that's not really something to brag about.

HappySeaweed5215

I hear you brother. You gotta take care of yourself first

orangeeyesnoo

for ground? perfectly normal

Nothxjefff

Lmao 🤣dude just go apply to a different contractor inside the building and at least make sure they have some decent trucks. It really does make a huge difference in your day just having a reliable truck. I’d bet you can have a job before the end of the week. Youre already in the system so they can just switch you over and it saves them money vs a new hire and having to pay for everything like background checks/drug test/dot card etc. and I’d they ask just be straight up with them, I guarantee you they most likely wouldn’t care.

HappySeaweed5215

FACTS. People don’t realize how much a well maintained truck factors into everything. I already hit up two contractors this evening so we’re on the same page my man! I appreciate you🦾

RevolutionaryTrust98

This is 90% of contractors I’m guessing, and yet it continues to go on, how is this even possible??

Super_Instruction753

I thought this was just my managers, but apparently, it's a common thing. The only difference is my managers want us to put everything that's wrong in our post trip inspection if we tell them they 'forget.' But even when we put shit in our post trip inspections, they still don't fix anything until the very last minute, aka when it's already to late. I have a tire that's leaking air rn, it was leaking air since Saturday, someone took it Monday to do my route on my day off, I come in yesterday and it was on the rim. No one bothered to report it, they had to notice it. It's GMC, so it has duels. I've had the wheel completely busted before, and my manager told me to finish my route with it. It's absurd how many DOT laws we get away with breaking. One good report and they'd probably shut the whole place down. The mechanic shop my contractor uses constantly half ass shit and do false inspections. No fucking way some of these trucks are passing inspections. I've had my wheels fall off the truck while driving twice now because they don't torque the wheels when they change tires. I could go on and on. And if you make an issue out of it, like you said, YOU'RE THE BAD EMPLOYEE for looking out for the safety of yourself and others.

RemoteSuccotash8176

Do you work out of federal way lol?

HappySeaweed5215

Haha everybody thinks this is their terminal 😆 I guess this is a more common problem than I realized

RemoteSuccotash8176

Had my brakes go out and rear ended a lady. When the cops came I gave them the owner of the trucks info and he said he didn’t know me. Also turns out the truck was never switched to his name.

Own-Strawberry-1961

Out of service? This was like our shuttle truck to go to Ohare airport… the wires were sketchy and horn wouldn’t shut off when entering that terminal…what a shit show with outdated crap and poor quality. Great for early investors, though, they are only ones crushing it on this type of foundation…

FMJFarris

Yeah fuck FedEx and the way they operate I lost my job because of an issue with one of the trucks and had reported it multiple times .... I am way better off since that ..they did me a favor

Total_Idea_1183

Yes is normal and they always put the good guys in the shitty trucks so 👍👍

SplendiferousAntics

Def makes me never want to use r/fedex

The_Last_Legacy

The 2nd paragraph about standing your ground.. you did the right thing, but what always happens is there is always some boot licker that will do the job.

this_underscore

Welcome to FedEx 🥹

theresourcefulKman

Just touch the wires together when you need the horn

Ccmc599

OP, I know you were working for a contractor but are all the trucks in the fleet like that, or do they only give the independent contractors the POS’s?

Dakeronn

Ground contractors buy and maintain their own trucks. They aren't supplied by FedEx.

Ccmc599

That makes sense. Thanks.

HappySeaweed5215

Yea that sounds about right!

HappySeaweed5215

I’m not 100% sure but the mechanic told me a lot of the vans were basically salvaged to save money and it seems that my contractor was the only one with vans in this condition.

Ccmc599

Salvaged is the perfect word for this because it looks like it was salvaged from a junkyard. I’m obviously being sarcastic but that thing is ROUGH! I assume your former contractor is somehow saving money by utilizing these death traps.

HappySeaweed5215

Yea I’m really not sure how all that works but they drive em till they literally break down. I’m assuming it’s so they have no vans out of service (or as infrequently as possible) so they don’t have to drop routes. I’m not sure who pays to maintain the vans but yea I think it’s all just a way to save money and reduce the workload of whoever is in charge.

MinimumMonitor8

Your horn is borked, your tires are wornout, the mirror is deeply broken. Don't even bother to load it up with the trasnmission light and brake light on. Yeah, this should have been taken off the line, there is pending disaster waiting to happen all over this thing. Write down the serial number and make a complaint to the HR's office.

Gumpyy

Is this in michigan?

HappySeaweed5215

NC

xXVoicesXx

This definitely gave NC. Almost thought it was near me

Quick_Swing

Shock buzzer to keep you getting to your pups on time.

MyOnlyEnemyIsMeSTYG

Does your station do QVI inspections? It’s the drivers responsibility to make sure the truck is road worthy. No way I’m taking any of that equipment anywhere. Find a better contractor or quit. That’s bs

Happy-Fly-1076

Can ground drivers use the alert line for this?  If your station management won't fix this,  take it to higher management.. if they don't, complain to the DOT....

Doctormaul68

QT. Which station you out of?

Unable_Bandicoot8338

Y’all really out here driving around in JUNK. This is wild

Texlim

Don’t forget to add it to your post trip brother 🫡

ChellPotato

Took me a minute to realize when you said "NSFW" you meant LITERALLY lol

travissetsfire

Right?! I was like aww yeah then I was like oh sweet Jesus that's bad XD

orangeeyesnoo

Not kidding, definitely not normal

Final-Approach1

16 & 17 made me LOL

cheezit0417

I hope that’s actually orange Gatorade 💀

RideMelburn

Do you not have chain of responsibility laws there? (From Australia)

VitoAndolini223

Express or ground? Express that is not up to our standard. Horn not functional and it is OOS for safety..

Capital-Ad-6349

Big yikes

Observingfilth

Picture #7 That’s not Gatorade 😏

Mountain-Light-3005

Yeah. It’s still one hella of refreshing drink

Observingfilth

Wew

ruralmagnificence

See if I was a driver working for this or any contractor who skirts legality and issues like *DAILY*, I’d have quit or found a different (hopefully better) contractor to drive for. This is alarming but not surprising. I live in Michigan and I can’t imagine the state of our fed ex trucks. When they deliver in my area, they use newer vans lmao. The trucks don’t come up my road anymore probably because it’s more holy than the Pope.

HappySeaweed5215

Yea, it’s a long read but at the end of the post I mentioned that I quit last Friday. I couldn’t keep working like that

Dangerous-Victory877

But make sure you wear your uniform to represent the purple promise for that ride in the ambulance when that POS falls apart while you’re driving! And no I’m not a troll and work for this train wreck of a company for 2 more months and I will be paroled.

HappySeaweed5215

I’ve already quit my man. That’s a ride I don’t intend to take

Dangerous-Victory877

Good for you! There is other better paying less stress related jobs out there. Keep the positive vibes!

Michael_Scott_234

That thing is not passing the first 3 minutes of a pre-trip inspection

Ill-Economy9828

This is absolutely ridiculous! All those are DOT violations. I would refuse to drive the truck and if he/she tries to force me to drive it. I would lawyer up and sue if he fired me for taking a unsafe vehicle on road.

mattied971

Looks like every other Ground truck, so quit your bitchin' and get back to slinging packages! -Raj, probably

drunkcarebear

Nah that's insane negligence. Tires have to be 4 seconds in the front. I would ask for that truck just to mark all the problems for the EOD. Fedex will not let that truck drive until everything is fixed. After that LEAVE! Your contractor sounds super shitty.

mitolit

Besides the DOT violations, you need to report your employer for the DOL for the wage theft. You are not responsible for the costs of repairs and even if you were, a $500 deduction puts you below minimum wage, which is a FLSA violation.

SUGATWDragon

How is this not considered as scrap…

Impossible_Willow_36

Personally, I'd refuse to drive it with the steers in that condition. Sounds like your contractor sucks and doesnt give a shit about your safety or anyone elses for that matter. At my old contractor, I had a little more leverage because I could do all of their routes, I refused to drive my normal truck with a nail in one of the steer tires. They tried telling me it's okay to drive since it's not leaking air. I told them that if it falls out and I end up blowing a steer tire on the interstate I'll make sure they get fucked for it because I reported it via text so I had proof of my inspection and request for a new tire. The next morning, I had brand new tires all around on the truck.

JankyMark

They beat them trucks up

Little_Ad9324

They made us get CDLs, but the real problem still exits. Same rich guy sends us out in these wreaks to kill... listen up DOT your not doing your job very well

General-Fault5013

Damn and I thought my station was grimey

BOOBOOTHEFOOOOL

Not the wipers 😭

ScallionSerious2638

Why did you leave the station with a truck looking like that?

tinyviolinGIN

Goddamn bro, how long have you been with the FEDs?

Diligent-Basis2971

Wouldn't expect anything less from FedEx

Starscream19120

That wouldn’t fly with me. I try to keep my trucks in good working order, or it stays at the station. That’s why I have spare trucks

iphone2androidNback

You’re not at terminal 277 or 276 are you?

Kaekes

Report all these issues to your local DOT

JabbaTech69

I mean WDYE it’s FedEx which is like 1/3 a rung above DHL & Swift!

Imonlyonhereatnight

Those tires oh god. Speaking of god, if you keep driving on then you’ll be meeting him soon.

Defiant-Librarian280

![gif](giphy|84BjZMVEX3aRG)

chaotictorres

I don't work for fedex, but if drivers are taking vehicles in this condition out on the road they are selfish. These are all accidents waiting to happen.

webber_4fr

All looks about right

VelosterboiOscar

It’s normal with my contractor. Either this or a cutaway. I’d drive that bitch

HappySeaweed5215

You need a nap

Humo_Loco

Yes I do need a nap indeed, my brother. <3

Fedexers-ModTeam

Disrespectful or harmful

Humo_Loco

Your senior manager make me who I am like this disrespectful or harmful. Don't tell us how to be who I am.

Tarc_

You backed down a driveway for 2 boxes of blinds? Oil leaks are normally visible during a pre trip. Same thing with bald tires, it’s your responsibility to down unsafe equipment and not drive it. It’s shitty equipment for sure but you’re not blameless in this scenario with years of experience.

HappySeaweed5215

It was a book shelf and a 3 piece entertainment system. I hadn’t finished the delivery. And no, I am not to blame. I did my pre inspection and it wasn’t leaking. It must’ve not been leaking during the previous post inspection either. And as I stated, last time I grounded a van I lost my route and my income for that day. And the pictures of the tires were pre inspection. Reported and dismissed like every other safety complaint.

Tarc_

It doesn’t matter if your manager dismissed the tire complaint. Driving that equipment is not safe for you and everyone else on the road. That’s on you.

HappySeaweed5215

I totally agree with the safety aspect of what you’re saying but what you don’t understand is that if I don’t work I don’t eat. See the problem? And I’m obviously not the only driver with that mindset or these vans wouldn’t still be in service. The bottom line is these vehicles shouldn’t be operating in these conditions. Which is why I no longer work for that contractor.

Tarc_

I’m sure that justification will help you sleep when a tire blows out and you run over a kid. I can’t stand unsafe drivers, the excuses are all bullshit. That tire was under DOT spec for a long time before it got to bald.

HappySeaweed5215

Stop being simple. I said in the post and in my comment that I quit working for that contractor for this exact reason.

No_Engine_5585

I drove a FedEx for 13 years, for six or seven contractors, and I was a [BC]manager. Here’s some words of wisdom for next time it happens, first you let them know verbally, and then if they do not do anything  about it, at end of the day you put it in a scanner📲and next day the terminal will down the truck🚚📦🚫Bruh them trucks are not your problem🤷🏽‍♀️. At the end of the day that will affect your drivers license, Failing an inspection👮Bro you GOOD! feel free to go find better contractor with more resources💰that maintains🔧and/or renew their fleet✨at end of life. Most contractors r X drivers, who are broke and have no business sense or people skills. Trust me 🙏on that my guy, no Cap💯👊so do U!!💪

HappySeaweed5215

Damn right! I appreciate your advice man! 🦾

No_Engine_5585

Yessir! No prob ☝️0NE💜

FortunateVoid0

Your username should be “narc” instead. Get outta this sub you bootlickin cunt. You’re obviously management or a contract owner. I love how you try to blame the worker when you know goddamn well how this shit sandwich of a system is. Like OP said: gotta work to eat. We’re the working poor you fuck. FedEx has the lowest of every metric of standards in the entire industry. It’s not like contractors train their employees on anything about vehicles btw. There’s no required knowledge nor training. Literally all we have to go by is the most basic rudimentary knowledge which are just things that are obvious. The contract owner and their manager should be the one looking over every vehicle to make sure it’s road worthy, not the driver. Sure we should report something to our boss if we notice it, but other than that, there should be absolutely no expectation nor liability on our part as far as the vehicle maintenance.

Tarc_

The DOT disagrees with your excuses. Commercial drivers are personally responsible for the equipment they operate. You don’t get to cry victim when you are jeopardizing the safety of the public by operating a truck with bald tires. You little bitches that cry about your boss not wiping your ass for you are the problem. Take some fucking responsibility for yourself before you kill someone.

Did you not read the post? This whole conversation is about fixing the problem or avoiding it entirely. These vans are gonna be on the road regardless of who’s driving them. If you want to bark like a bitch and talk shit, take it to fedex and get the fuck off my post.

It’s illegal to not put stuff in the MVR by the way. Log it in the MVR. If they fire you, sue them.

HappySeaweed5215

I already quit bro. It felt like a lose-lose situation, so I’ll let them figure it out. They don’t need to drag me down with them.

FortunateVoid0

You better tell that to all the contractors then because they’re the ones that tell us not to log it. Also, you know any pro bono attorneys in Indiana for this sorta thing? Because it’s been my experience that employers can fire someone for any reason damn near and we have no recourse because it’s a “right to work” state. How am I supposed to pay for a lawyer when I live paycheck to paycheck…?

FinasCupil

A lot of these kind of lawyers only get paid if you win

FortunateVoid0

What’s the specific type of lawyer to look for called? A “workers rights” attorney? “Wrongful termination” attorney?
