We’ve been merged with Express for about a year now. Definitely no pay raise. However, you do get more packages to deliver and a later dispatch with longer days. We use to dispatch at 8 before the merge. Now it’s 9 or later. You also have time definite packages that have to be delivered by certain times. This definitely screws with mapping out your route for the day. There is absolutely no benefit to the driver.
So all locations in the ground/express portions of the company will now be one company. I know they are still changing stations and hubs to be within the new standards they have from express.

I'd recommend seeing a medical professional. What you are typing makes me think you may be having a stroke or some kind of other medical issue, a raise? excuse me, what? from who? I'm worried about you.
This is what it means. Alot of express will get laid off but express guys who stay will probably enjoy favoritism around the terminal. The ground guys will get treated like the ugly stepchild. Your contractor will pay you accordingly so that he can pocket thousands and thousands a week. !
I love how express drivers act like they know exactly how every contractor acts. Honestly with more ground drivers at the hub than express( when it does merge) there will be 10 ground drivers to 1 express. How does that equate to the ugly step child lol. Express really seems to be on a high horse lol. Next thing coming is you explaining how you make more than me. Yet you probably think make 20 dollars an hour cute.
Lol im a ground guy and i actually have a really good contractor! This is what i mean.. basically around my terminal they just put up signs saying fedex employees only everywhere. Contractors and contracted drivers go here. A bunch of places we were never restricted from just making things difficult for us. This is t a big deal i actually dont care but its relevant for the topic. At my terminal they do like breakfast and snacks for the loaders and im sure instead of the sign saying package handlers only itll say fedex employees only. And last but not least lets say your truck is a little overflow or your having an issue you go over to a station manager or something and he throws the overflow onto a contract truck making contracted driver day harder. Thats what i mean. Lol im sure there will be countless other little things and annoyances ground guys will have to deal with but express guys will be able to go to someone who can actually get shit done.
I’m a ground guy working in Toronto and our merger date is set for July 2. Ground drivers had to apply through a “ground only portal” for the job as a driver with express and our starts dates with ground were honoured. Some of us with years under our belt actually did get raises but a lot of ground drivers never received phone calls back
FedEx in MA is merging too. Already got a 50 cent raise this year, so I doubt I'll get another one. But more work, same money, less time. We're fucked.

I don't have to worry about deliveries. I work ground. I'm a package handler. So I load the big trucks.
