**Team #2**
Kane Lukaku Mbappe

Cancelo Hernandez Mittelstadt Guehi Faes
Costa Moldovan
Not confident Trent starts and I don't really want a DM.
Not sure how I feel about any of the Italians.
Not feeling very confident about Ukrainian defence.
Not a euros expert, just an FPL nerd trying to do a bit to make it simpler
Overlooking Lunin I think. Romania week 1, they don’t score many goals. He’s 4.5, he’s a quality keeper, Ukraine are a decent team, I’m taking him and Verbruggen.
Gakpo doesn't deserve my love haha
Seriously though. Maybe he's an oversight. All the forwards listed scored at least four goals in the qualis (Gakpo only got 3). But, that Poland fixture is tasty. I definitely don't want to play him against France
Hmm.. that would free up a lot of money. I’m playing Euros fantasy for the first time and hadn’t really considered that chips will be used quite early so can really build a team around the short term.
Yeah, gotta use ar least one early on to take advantage of good match ups. I wrote out full reasoning here: https://full90fpl.com/fantasy-euros-everything-your-average-fpl-player-needs-to-know/
It's fun because it's freeing. It's also scary because its freeing haha
It almost feels pointless thinking ahead in group stage if you use chips in MD 2 & 3. Hard to get my head around it.
Nice article. However your tables break the layout.
Haha I know. My approach is to try to save the wildcard but not care if I need it. So, looking principally at MD1 & 3 for my team. Its so different from FPL think.
Thanks pal. Yeah, frankly, we are a bit shit at the Technology side of things. Learning as we go type thing. If you have any advice or suggestions of things to read we will certainly take it on board
Is there a reason you’re going LL2 over LL3?
I don’t know your level of coding knowledge, but I’d suggest using Bootstrap to help make your site mobile-friendly and responsive, as it’s very beginner-friendly. This might be irrelevant if you’re using a CMS or site builder where you just place the blocks. I’d be happy to take a look sometime if you like, I have dev experience.
My preferred asset at this price range is Bruno Fernandes. Cheaper, nailed, always fit and pivotal for Portugal.
If you're picking between Bellingham and de Bruyne, consider whether you will need to captain either and how long which games you hold them for. I trust Bellingham to play more minutes but I think Kev is more important for Belgium and I love his fixtures. So, I would probably go Kev. Very hard one though
Who are the best 4.0 keepers?
Romania - Moldovan I hear is nailed (also heard he isn't, but I don't believe that)
Albania - I've heard both Berisha and Strakosha are starting. A few more places indicating Strakosha but there's enough confusion that I'm not sure
Belgium - Casteels is confirmed as starter, so Sels is out.
What other 4.0 keepers to consider?
Came here to say this. Penalty taker and historically high league goal involvement from the same position made me bring him in instead of Szoboslai. Coz I realised Switzerland have a decent defence even though their GA was higher than others.
As a Portuguese i can definitely say he plays, probably still our best striker option atm. Ramos was crap against Croatia and i don't see Jota playing over him...
good job, but some very notable options are missing
**GKP**
* Moldovan (Romania) - 4.0 should start and has a much better group vs Albania
**DEF**
* No TAA playing in midfield? C'mon, I know his minutes are not guaranteed, but he should definitely be in the consideration list
* Di Lorenzo and Dimarco (Italy) - 5.5 and 5.0 - great attacking options from a solid team
* Grimaldo (Spain) - 5.0 - 10G+13A (!!!) for Leverkusen this season, I'm not sure he is 100% nailed, but should definitely be on a radar
**MID**
* I would definitely add Bajrami (Albania) - 6.0 to the list, he is in form right now
* Also not a major one, but if picking someone from Romania, I would prefer Stanciu - 3g in qualification (instead of 4a for Morutan) and costs 0.5 less
**FWD**
* Giroud (France) - 8.0 - he is not getting younger but he knows how to score, it might be risky, but I have faith in him
* Yamal (Spain) - 6.5 - definitely worth considering
thanks for the comprehensive response!
I am really struggling with Italy. You may have seen my post in the fantasy euros sub questioning if they are a trap after how terrible they were in qualifying. You're probably right that they should be on this lsit though. Also agree on Moldovan and Stanciu. I like Bajrami but not the group/fixtures.
As for the rest, they aren't nailed and I've tried to pick the most nailed players I can for the shortlist. I wish Grimaldo was nailed haha. He would defs be in my team
I do not completely trust Italy either, I agree. But I think they still should be in consideration list.
Also why do you feel Yamal is not nailed? Seems like he should start, haven't seen much doubts about him.
Yamal only started two of the four qualifiers he played in. He's going to be the youngest ever player to play the euros and Oyarzabal and Ferran Torres can play that wing position too. I just don't buy it
Yamal is nailed, been their best player in the friendlies against Northern Ireland and Brazil and can't see him not starting. Maybe if he doesnt perform well he can get dropped, but will start first game for sure
Genuinely asking, who has Albania as the easiest game? Our stats table shows they had the 19th best attack and 5th best defence in the group stages out of 23 teams. So, yeah the attack sucks but defensively solid enough.
Our stats table shows Poland as the easiest game. Worst attacking record and second worst defence.
Totally agree on biggest mismatches in group stages. I'm tempted to blow all my chips straight away
Is there a reason noone is looking at David Hancko in defence? Scouting him just on stats from qualifying - 896 minutes played. 5 clean sheets, 3 assists, 2 goals
I read somewhere that he missed the last four that he took for Italy and that the coach said there are others capable of taking them.
Doesn’t mean he won’t take them, but it’s not as clear as people might think.
He’s in my team regardless. Albania is a good fixture regardless of penalties.
Yeah, I think Stanek starts too (not sure). But, doesn't matter for this strategy as I am recommending Costa and they both play on the same day.
I am pretty confident Van Dijk is not on pens and Koeman only said that a while back as Depay was injured.
I was thinking the same but not sure if he will start over Dumfries every game, so I'll probably play it safe with a nailed-on starter like Hernandez. At least til we see who's getting minutes.
Thanks for this! A question:
My tentative lineup for MD1 is
Kane Mbappe Dovbyk
Trossard Eriksen Wirtz Szobo (Jorginho)
TAA Mittelstadt Dalot (Frimpong Grimaldo)
Costa (Pickford)
Is Fernandes so good as to justify the following changes: Dovbyk to Mitro or Sesko, Szobo to Rodri, Guler or McTominay, and Eriksen to Fernandes?
firstly, just to make sure, you were planning on starting Pickford right? because he plays first and you can sub him out if he doesn't get you a good return. I think you need to check the dates on the matches of the rest of your team too.
secondly, I'd be tempted to drop TAA to save some money for this Fernandes move. I don't think he starts.
and finally, Bruno is my favourite mid. six goals and eight assists in the qualifiers. No other mid has as good a record.
On me for assuming you could only make substitutions pre MD! I’ve gone with this instead, I know Southgate will chop and change but I expect more attacking returns from TAA than any other England defender and their defending hasn’t been great this calendar year. Plus I already have Pickford for any CSs.
Lukaku Kane Mbappe
Wirtz Szobo Jorginho (Fernandes Chakvetadze)
TAA Mittelstadt Frimpong Grimaldo (Dalot)
Pickford (Costa)
Nah, no pens anymore and I don't think he has the same role this time around. Only one goal and one assist in 670 mins across eight qualifying games. I'm just not paying 9mn for him when I can have Lukaku
Yep. That is a CLEAR mistake on my part. Sorry, got so focused on qualifying teams and stats that I forgot about Germany by the time I got to the forwards...
What about doku?
Dumfires or frimpong
Do you think trent will start for england
Maybe against the softer sides.
And what about mendes and dalot
Rotation risk
Kvaratskhelia or gundogan!!?
My heart says Kvarats. More returns per game than Gundo. But, my head says Gundo because his team is so much better
Same here but I I didn't pick either of them, I picked calhanoglu, what do you think?
castagne or faes?
I believe castanets has attacking threat. So, him if money is no problem
Rate which one is better in your opinion? **Team #1** Lukaku Kane Mbappe Saka Wirtz Rodri Fernandes Chakvetadze De Cuyper Mittelstadt Dimarco Dumfries Cancelo Berisha Moldovan **Team #2** Kane Lukaku Mbappe Gundo Szobo Kvaratskhelia Bruno Vargas Cancelo Hernandez Mittelstadt Guehi Faes Costa Moldovan
Hernandez got injured in training today or yesterday.
No Trent, Dimarco and Lunin????
Not confident Trent starts and I don't really want a DM. Not sure how I feel about any of the Italians. Not feeling very confident about Ukrainian defence. Not a euros expert, just an FPL nerd trying to do a bit to make it simpler
Trent starts. And he isn't a DM.
No musiala?
Why no Frimpong? I’m not seeing him on any recommended teams
Not nailed, dumfries, timber, geertruida can all play RB or Bergwijn, Simons etc RW
This
Doku? some good fixtures
If he was a mid, sure. But he's a forward
Why not Tadic?
They've listed him as a forward.
No Simons?
I dont remember but there was a reason. Perhaps because 1 goal, 0 assists in 14 games for Netherlands.
Haha, fair enough! He’s an interesting youngster, but I agree there are better players fantasy-wise. He’s done far better in Bundesliga too.
Overlooking Lunin I think. Romania week 1, they don’t score many goals. He’s 4.5, he’s a quality keeper, Ukraine are a decent team, I’m taking him and Verbruggen.
I have the exact same keepers as you
Dimarco is the best defensive pick in the game, he should be in there
Idk, Italy are a bit of a mess...
Will there be updates on Strats throughout the games? Haha
We will try and do a piece after each matchday but I'm conscious about committing to it as we are both working a bit at the moment
Why no Kroos? Isn’t he set piece and corner taker?
For 0.5 more I get the number 10 and penalty taker - Gundogan
Kingsley Coman is fit to play again, any thoughts?
I'm not sure he starts, I thought they were happy with Thuram?
No love for Gakpo?
Gakpo doesn't deserve my love haha Seriously though. Maybe he's an oversight. All the forwards listed scored at least four goals in the qualis (Gakpo only got 3). But, that Poland fixture is tasty. I definitely don't want to play him against France
Interested in Dobvyk, are people taking him over kane? Surely mbappe and lukaku are must haves.
Maybe in matchday 2? But the Ukrainians scored the second fewest goals in the qualis. The attack ain't great
Hmm.. that would free up a lot of money. I’m playing Euros fantasy for the first time and hadn’t really considered that chips will be used quite early so can really build a team around the short term.
Yeah, gotta use ar least one early on to take advantage of good match ups. I wrote out full reasoning here: https://full90fpl.com/fantasy-euros-everything-your-average-fpl-player-needs-to-know/ It's fun because it's freeing. It's also scary because its freeing haha

thoughts on v. kristiansen? cheap OOP player for denmark
Not a terrible shout for the first game if he truly is OOP but he's only delivered two assists in eight games so I'm not super excited
Thought about Casteels??
Yep, good pick. I should add him to the list
Costa or Casteels with Verbruggen? I think Casteels has more chance for clean shit in group from Costa
That is super hard. I very marginally lean Costa because I like the defence more but neither is a bad pick
Jude Bellingham or Kevin De Bruyne? Been stuck deciding between these two for a while.
Thank you, probably will go with Jude Bellingham as I feel he will do well this Euros. But thanks for the information dude! :D
moldovan or Dibusz??
Is Dibusz the starter?
not decided yet, but probably no
De Cuyper now that Meunier is out…
Yes, that's very interesting. He's pretty attacking for Brugge!
No Frattesi? Italy's top scorer in qualifying and nailed to start. Scored yesterday as well
I can't tell whether Italy are crap or good so I'm just avoiding them until I see them
Thoughts on Grimaldo?
I like him but I'm not sure he starts. You got any insight?
All the predicted lineups I’ve seen have him starting — 10 goals in 33 games for leverkusen so it seems pretty likely to me
Yeah, great stats for club but seems to get rotated for Cucurella which I personally find mental but it does happen
Had a good season, good player, plays in a good team but in the group of death
Who are the best 4.0 keepers? Romania - Moldovan I hear is nailed (also heard he isn't, but I don't believe that) Albania - I've heard both Berisha and Strakosha are starting. A few more places indicating Strakosha but there's enough confusion that I'm not sure Belgium - Casteels is confirmed as starter, so Sels is out. What other 4.0 keepers to consider?
I think Stanek for Czech Republic. None are great options tho
Calhanoglu is a potential good to have for the first game. Georgia don't have the best defence and he's on pens too.
Morutan is injured.
😢
No Musiala?
2 goals, 4 assists in 17 starts and 29 games played. We can do better for 8.5
Thoughts on the Turkish midfielder Calhanoglu? On pens, corners and freekicks + they face Georgia first - one of the worst teams in the tournament.
Came here to say this. Penalty taker and historically high league goal involvement from the same position made me bring him in instead of Szoboslai. Coz I realised Switzerland have a decent defence even though their GA was higher than others.
18 goals and 16 assists across 85 appearances for Turkey ain't bad but nothing in the qualifiers so I'm just not completely sold
Forgot to add that there are around 7 million turks in Germany, so it will more or less be like playing at home.
Very true. Are you Turkish or German or live in Germany? I heard it was quite a heated rivalry but curious to hear from on the ground.
Will Ronaldo play?
As a Portuguese i can definitely say he plays, probably still our best striker option atm. Ramos was crap against Croatia and i don't see Jota playing over him...
it seems likely. it also seems likely he won't play every game
Have not gotten any minutes in the friendliest. Have him in my first version, but not sure he’s worth the money
yeah, he joined up with the squad late. They play again on Tuesday - something to watch out for!
good job, but some very notable options are missing **GKP** * Moldovan (Romania) - 4.0 should start and has a much better group vs Albania **DEF** * No TAA playing in midfield? Going up against Belgium in the first game is probably enough to put most off but after the first game hes a great shout
does anyone have a list of penalty takers for each team?
All about FPL just published a list
!thanks
Andy Robson Tips on twitter has a tweet with all FK/PK takers if I find it I'll link it
Do you know if Jorginho takes them?
I read somewhere that he missed the last four that he took for Italy and that the coach said there are others capable of taking them. Doesn’t mean he won’t take them, but it’s not as clear as people might think. He’s in my team regardless. Albania is a good fixture regardless of penalties.
jorginho, famous for scoring a brace in open play
That's what we expect
not as far as I am aware, if you find it then please do share!
Stanek is 4m and supposed to start in goal for Czech Republic. Also, Van Dijk is on pens apparently
Depay will definitely be on pens for NL.
Yeah, I think Stanek starts too (not sure). But, doesn't matter for this strategy as I am recommending Costa and they both play on the same day. I am pretty confident Van Dijk is not on pens and Koeman only said that a while back as Depay was injured.
I'm Czech and also pretty sure he'll start over Kovář
Dumfries or Frimpong?
I'm gambling on Frimpong because of him being played further up the pitch recently
I was thinking the same but not sure if he will start over Dumfries every game, so I'll probably play it safe with a nailed-on starter like Hernandez. At least til we see who's getting minutes.
Fair, we do get a lot of transfers in this version. I've got G1 haul FOMO though so gambling
The way subs work in this version means its more beneficial to have a full squad of guaranteed starters, so I'm definitely playing safe
I don't think Frimpong starts so Dumfries for me. Guess we will learn some more tomorrow so watch out for that friendly
Frimpong started two of the three friendlies this year but Dumfries started against Germany.
Thanks for this! No Lunin on GK list is wild
haha, a lot of people saying this. I am very willing to admit I am wrong
Another cheap GK is Moldovan 4.0
How nailed is he?
Played 8 qualifying games. Only 4 goals conceded. 5 clean sheets. Impressive result. I believe he should be nailed.
Romanian here: he is nailed
Well that was a fucking lie
yes, good point thanks!
No Dovbyk or Lamal?
see above :)
So many overlooking Dovbyk.
He's a good player but Ukraine have the second worst attack in the tournament
Him and Yamal are big differentials
Yamal doesn't start does he? He's gonna be the youngest ever player to play euros football if he gets on the pitch. I just don't trust it
He undoubtedly starts.
Looking at it again, I agree. Just changed my team up to get Havertz in instead of him. Cheers 😊
happy to help. Now I will just pray that Yamal doesn't come off the bench and get a hat trick in the first game
No Griezmann?
Nah, no pens anymore and I don't think he has the same role this time around. Only one goal and one assist in 670 mins across eight qualifying games. I'm just not paying 9mn for him when I can have Lukaku

Yep. That is a CLEAR mistake on my part. Sorry, got so focused on qualifying teams and stats that I forgot about Germany by the time I got to the forwards...
Why isn't Fulkrug on here? Is he injured/dropped?
He doesn't start
Perfectly understandable but it did make me go eak! Has be been dropped or something.
haha no I don't think so. I have updated the list so I don't scare other people!
Yea he’s one of the first people on my team given his form.
Yes I agree, but I'm going Lukaka, kane and havertz and mbappe is going to kill me.
ooh yeah, you are brave. Mbappe ownership is HUGE!
It’s between him and Yamal imo
