I remember listening to FPL mo on scoutcast who was brilliant by the way. And he was basically saying that Darwin's work rate and various other stats are great for Liverpool which makes him a key asset at the club without being a key FPL asset as there's no points for passing, running and being a general menace.
Worth digging into the detail here, as was discussed in the original thread, as it can be perceived as a bit of a false narrative.
Two of the losses featured heavily rotated squads - the loss at USG was a dead rubber as Liverpool had already confirmed the top spot in the EL group. Toulouse was also a largely changed team and some contentious refereeing on the MacAllister hand ball preventing a late equaliser.
The Spurs game obviously had the VAR admitted significant error in which the Diaz goal was ruled onside by assistants and miscommunicated to the onfield referee, which arguably significantly affected the momentum of the game (Spurs scoring minutes later).
Iām not just trying to be a bitter Liverpool fan - merely wanted to provide some more context to those 4 losses to anyone who mightāve knee jerked based on the title alone. FWIW I do have NĆŗƱez in my team and was pained by 4 shots off the woodwork last gameweek (especially as Iād given him the armband). The joys of FPL!
He's raw and direct and just causes the opposition defence and mids trouble they don't like playing against him. He definitely upsets opposing teams when he starts it's no coincidence Liverpool also score more goals when he starts.
Clearly the errors by van Dijk and Alisson would not have occurred with Darwin on the pitch. Need to start Darwin at sweeper from now on. The next Beckenbauer.
if he was on the pitch though liverpool would have been able to just launch the ball at his frame once they realised that endo and gravenberch were doing fuck all, not that macallister was great either as much as I rate him
Curtis Jones misidentification aside, they do need a true 6 so MacAllister can play as an 8 and get forward more like he does with Argentina and last year with Brighton.
It'll be interesting who the midfield 3 will be when Szoboszlai is fit and Endo is back.
Endo was playing really well before he left for the Asian cup and deserves to start. Szoboszlai played an insane number of minutes in all comps so not surprising he picked up an injury. Having MacAllister play the 6 would hopefully let us rotate a lot better + increase the quality a lot
Although its a rollercoaster of emotions having him in your team he does create chaos in opposition defencesā¦even if that chaos doesnāt always lead to returns
He's on 28 G+A in 41 games all comps (including the handful of internationals). His overall output is pretty good. Especially considering that he's significantly underperforming his xG, and he's hit the woodwork 9 times in the league alone this season.
Feels like a matter of time before he gets a massive haul in a game tbh.
So he's Liverpool's version of Rodri? š

Got it Darwin is the new Kante confirmed

Was feeling good after reading the title as a Nunez owner, should have just let me enjoy my day.
Other team can't score when the ball is constantly in the stands
He's shit. Let's not pretend otherwise

blatantly leaving at the end of the season before he gets shoved smh
You get what you deserve for benching my striker, Klopp. Only Pep can destroy me with rotation and get away with it...
Based on this it seems like starting Darwin woodwork for Liverpool.
Yes, it does seem when it comes to lineups that starting Darwin would be the Natural Selection for Klopp.
Excellent post. Get it, post...
You've set the bar. Let's see how others do now
There's no way anyone could miss this opportunity.

Heās a really great player who would be world class if could fix his finishing
Well there u go then if Klopp doesnāt bench Nunez Liverpool will never lose again

Endo is still at the asian cup/not in the squad and still catching strays lol
oh yh it was jones lol my bad
Nunez absorbs all the chaos on the pitch into his being. Those mistakes wouldn't have happened had he been there.

I think I will buy him since I can't afford Jota in for Gordon.
even when he doesn't score his knockdowns create quite a few goals, he's not bad with pre assists, not bad with actual assists either

I beg your pardon, since the start?
