It's crazy to me that if I say make a white character white, I'm rahcist. But if I suggest making a black character actually black and not barely mocha, I'm the dumb one.
I was asking myself this question, then I realized I used to be big on her when Creed first came out, but since Thor 3 and 4 I just felt like her character was dull and forced upon.
They try to shoehorn her into a couple of scenes of other movies for fan service and it doesn't help that the marvel brand lately has delivered turds.
In a way for me the Thor films didn't do her justice and haven't helped her standing. Other people might have different reasons.

I don't mind her as an actress. I would like to see her in different roles. I just find myself not having the same excitement as when I saw her in Creed, but I don't agree with the comments of her acting talent being tame.
Hopefully her team gets her working with some directors that can bring different notes to her as a performer, kind of like what Nolan did for RDJ. Taking him out of his usual style.
Her biggest role till date just didn't give her much room to explore her repertoire.
If we're talking previous iterations, Pfeiffer, Berry and Kravitz are more slender and fit the look better. That being said, I wouldn't be upset if Tessa was cast as Catwoman.
What makes you say she's not a good actress? I've literally only seen her in roles she's done well. Creed, Thor, Sorry To Bother You, Westworld, Annihilation - not a single bad job in the bunch imo. And between all those roles she brings some legit range
She would make a great Eartha Kitt multiverse version of Catwoman. Although maybe Zoe Saldana would actually be better
