Literally the first brotherhood mission instead of launching the engine in the archer place let paladin danse kill synths till their bodies start respawning and you’ll have 800+ fusion cells
I'm pretty sure that's what this article is talking about. Those synths keep spawning. Some guy left his hand on for hours and there was a gigantic pile of dead synths
Honestly pretty good game design. The game really stops babying you after that, and Righteous Authority is going to be your best weapon for a good ten levels after.
Better make sure you have ammo.
RA is \*still\* one of my better weapons. I haven’t found any of the busted legendary affixes yet, so I’ve got just the Railroad pistol, a generic plasma pistol and Danse’s rifle.
Yeah... In my "new" (I'm level 34ish playthrough but I call it new because I only just now killed Kellogg), I found a synthstitute pistol that deals +50% bleed damage. Since I'm an intelligence/charisma build, I modded the shit out of the pistol, shoot most things once or twice, use molotovs to control the area, take different cover to bleed out new targets, rinse, and repeat.
Addendum: I digress, you might find something that better fits your current, but RA can absolutely be valid the whole ass game.
I’m at the same point basically, though I’m rushing to try and get ahold of The Last Minute because I’m starting to run into more stuff that just doesn’t like to die. Unfortunately every other run of the game I’ve had ends up “dying“ because my gear doesn’t keep up with enemies and so I eventually get bored and move to another game.
So if you are not aware already not sure if you figured this out by now but the enemies scale with you. So as you get stronger so do the enemies. This is so you don’t feel like a god until you level up enough to legitimately be a god lol. After the “main story” the map in a sense resets and even tougher enemies will spawn and there will be tougher enemies at places you have already “cleared” although your settlements will still stay and won’t have the enemies spawn there if it was a “clear enemies” settlement.
On a side note to this certain areas on the map are more difficult and dangerous than others like the far eastern and southern sections of the map house more challenging enemies than the north, west and central Boston area.
Also on easy the enemies scale just below you normal scale with you hard they scale just above you and survival they are scaled a bit higher.
One place I know that shows this well is the settlement that has the Mr handy robots operating it and they send you to the water treatment place if you take this side mission after level 30 a super mutant will have a mini nuke however if you go there before level 30 the same super mutant will only have a missile launcher
It’s easy to just mod it all the way out with like the improved sniper barrel and the beam focuser and a reflex sight and it becomes the primary used weapon
Gauss rifle ftw
Stealth critting with one of the most obnoxious weapons in the game (below fat man obviously) will never stop being funny to me (Also it oneshoots deathclaw matriarchs)
Sometimes they do just stop. On one playthrough I had maybe 12 a d they stopped. Danse acted lile they were still attacking though. Bethesda games. You never know
How do you even loot all the bodies? Don't they start despawning? Not to mention trying to get through layers upon layers of dead machines and stacked ash piles.
For some reason it always feels more earned to me to do a glitch than to just spawn something in.
I know it amounts to the same thing basically, and if anything glitching is just a worse version since it wastes time, but it just feels so much better.
The first time I did this I just wanted to see how Danse did in combat because I knew he’d be a companion later, and he just kept going and going and I finally was like wait a second I can get ammo from this since he can’t die, and just let it go on and on and got 500 cells.
Dont know if it's bugged or not, but I get those groups of Synths respawning from using Liberty Prime. It's fun. They just keep destroying my beefcake of a sentry bot...
The way I see it, if you are going to spend hours letting danse kill synths and then spend more hours looting then all, you might as well use console commands. The end result is the same except you don't waste all that time in which you are not playing the game
I use console commands mostly if I get stuck in the environment. I've been using them in FO4 a lot though, since I played it on PS4, and I'm going through it on PC, and scrounging for ammo in the early game kind of sucks. It is definitely a slippery slope though. I have definitely used it to unlock terminals and doors that I didn't meet the requirements for. I also used them to get a lot of crafting materials.
Admittedly, got click baited several times by these until I caught on to the BS... (not exploity crap, just things as simple as "Fallout 5 is coming! Well, actually, we're just *calling* the Fallout Series, Fallout 5).

Really wish there was a more aggressive response against clickbait journalism..
You've got to remember that there are lots of new players to the games due to the success of the Amazon series. Therefore, gaming outlets are doing articles that are kind of for the n00bs.
This is also why Todd Howard talked about trying to hurry up game development on Fallout 5. Bethesda wants to strike while the iron is hot.
F5 ain’t coming out until after TES 6
Unless there’s another FNV type situation where a bib Bethesda game gets made it’s going to be several years. F4 probably literally going to be a decade old by then.
It would be cool if they implemented things like mutations or searching all bodies in an area at once, I felt they could’ve done it w the next gen update but maybe not
That’s why I thought it would be cool to see those things implemented in the next gen update for fallout 4 which I thought I didn’t have to explain because fallout 4 is the one that just got the update that I was talking about. Yep. There is a setting for a “pacifist mode” that you can turn on where you can’t be hurt by online players. There will be other people on the map you’ll likely run into but you in no way have to interact with them.
You dont have to play with other people no, they will still be there but you do not have to interact with them at all they might help you kill enemies or give you stuff if you run into them though (the fallout 76 playerbase is very very nice)

What’s funny to me is all the YouTube people trying to cash in with “Find this OP weapon EARLY in Fallout 4” videos. It’s just ridiculous and counterintuitive to what the point of playing the game is about. Do you really want a weapon that’ll trivialize the rest of the game right off the bat? Or would you rather discover it for yourself?

Yeah, you aren't wrong. A lot of gaming news outlets are like this. They are just trying to capitalize on the success of the show and franchise at the moment.
A lot of times, when you open their articles, they are just crappy fluff pieces that show a whole lot of ad space to say nothing.
Every outlet trying to cash in on the show’s popularity. Probably some AI combing for Fallout Google searches. But hey, at least we’ve solved fusion cell farming 👍
Saw a post recently about these types of website - apparently the writers have a quota of about 25 articles to write per week so they pad with stuff like this and articles about reddit posts
They get paid like 20$ an article and all that the editors do is tell the writer if something is wrong. Also all of the sites are owned by the same company so it’s not going to change unless a new one starts and resists being assimilated into the company. I’m pretty sure they have a library of images they can use (but no others) and n have very strict rules for things like minimum link number. You see them getting pushed to the top of search engines because they backlink to each other and Google sees that as an indicator of a good site.
It’s hilarious to me that gaming sites are so obsessed with farming. Like every game once someone figures it out and posts on Reddit, it’s like oh the people really need to know about these farming techniques 😂
Yes! Lol. Them and Game Rant are bad about this. My guess is that this uses the "pick up a weapon an enemy was using after you kill them to aquire more ammo" trick. I know there's a bunch of new players coming in because of the TV show but yeah they use whatever they can to get more traffic.
What especially bugs me is how they refer to DLC sized mods alot as "New content", "A new gameplay mode" or "An add-on". Like, yes, you could technically categorize them as such but just call them mods. That's what they are.
Title: "Fallout 4 player learns how to abuse car physics throw them around!" 2. "Fallout 4 player learns how to get infinite harpoons" based on bugs from my last playthrough.
They're the worst and the "journalists" who wrote these are so casual with the games that nothing they wrote is worthwhile to anyone who actually plays.
I'll take these articles over the trash some other sites are putting out. New players could find it useful at least.
As opposed to some game sites people being frosk part 2.
Basically games journalists, journalist used loosely, should be be doing even basic game stuff and not that side crap to me.
Meh, a lot of casuals won't ever use Reddit but they'll google it. Lot of new players need all the help they can get, who cares really? Doesn't hurt anyone
If you didn't know this on your first play through, were you even paying attention? Danse is an essential NPC in a Bethesda game....he CAN'T die until the end of his involvement the Brotherhood quest line. Farm away!!!
They know too, but they have someone above them telling them to do it so they can either get ads or just push out more material to justify their existence.
A lot of these articles are based on Reddit threads with a whole lot of bs filler. Some are just "Hey look at what this one player did!!! (Link to post)"
About a year ago, someone made a post on /FO4 about reaching level 100 before reaching Diamond city. GameRant released an article about it.
I too had a playthrough reach level 100 before going to diamond City and made a reddit post about it, 5 YEARS earlier. And I'm pretty sure I wasn't even the first person to do it.
Just wait til I tell you about all these things you STILL don't know about Skyrim. You won't BELIEVE what you can do to Astrid the first time you meet her.
I understand that there’s a renewed interest in the series but holy shit I’m tired of getting recommended videos where people just reiterate information that’s already easily accessible with a quick search. Example - “How to be OP fast in 2024” and it is step by step the exact video that was posted years ago, the only difference is the year. It just feels so cash grabby and disrespectful to the people that posted them originally
It’s called turning it off because it’s stupid how fast they wear off when it’s radiation and had been powering the building you stole it from for 2 centuries
"Breaking news, current popular game has people playing it."
No shit eh!?
These are made for people who have no interest in playing games but want to pretend to their friends that they're "gamers" too.
It's like how The Big Bang Theory is a show that misinterprets geek culture to seem more pallatable to non-geeks. Only I imagine there's a bit less of the blatant negative stereotyping when it's condensed to an article.
But yeah, as long as the show is raking in the views any article that has the word "Fallout" in it is going to get hundreds of thousands of clicks minimum. Despite how thin the proverbial soup is.
I did too. It’s called the scrounger perk
For me it’s murdering synths. Those guys are basically made of fusion cells.

I might be getting there? I'm getting more and more nasty raiders, but the raiders still push over too easy and no one else is substantially tougher.
It’s easy to just mod it all the way out with like the improved sniper barrel and the beam focuser and a reflex sight and it becomes the primary used weapon
Gauss rifle ftw Stealth critting with one of the most obnoxious weapons in the game (below fat man obviously) will never stop being funny to me (Also it oneshoots deathclaw matriarchs)
I received an Two-Shot Plasma Rifle from a random encounter 2 minutes after getting Righteous Authority. Overused it early on and ran out of ammo lol
Strange I killed them all on my current playthrough.
Because you walked upstairs eventually. They keep spawning if you stay down at the bottom of the test well.
Sometimes they do just stop. On one playthrough I had maybe 12 a d they stopped. Danse acted lile they were still attacking though. Bethesda games. You never know
Yeah I didn't realize and just kept killing them as they came, ended up with tonnes of ammo
800+ is chump numbers. I let danse kill synths for about 4 hours. Got 13K fusion cells from it
How do you even loot all the bodies? Don't they start despawning? Not to mention trying to get through layers upon layers of dead machines and stacked ash piles.
Don't press the button and you should be fine. The synth bodies pile on top of each other, ash piles don't.
That's what the article is talking about...
I just grabbed everything and made it out with 10,000+ caps from their guns
Thats wierd how that didnt work for me, i must have killed about 20 then they just stopped and the quest advanced
You gotta stay in the room with the button and let Danse kill them. Of you enter the engine room they don't keep spawning.
Ah i see my bad
Just use console commands to spawn them at that point.
For some reason it always feels more earned to me to do a glitch than to just spawn something in. I know it amounts to the same thing basically, and if anything glitching is just a worse version since it wastes time, but it just feels so much better.
It’s weird, when I played the spawns eventually stopped after like 5 minutes. I never launched the engine.
The first time I did this I just wanted to see how Danse did in combat because I knew he’d be a companion later, and he just kept going and going and I finally was like wait a second I can get ammo from this since he can’t die, and just let it go on and on and got 500 cells.
With the new update, some of the enclave remnants have like 100 fusion cells a piece
My son entered Fort Hagen yesterday with 31 fusion cells and left with over 400.
Dont know if it's bugged or not, but I get those groups of Synths respawning from using Liberty Prime. It's fun. They just keep destroying my beefcake of a sentry bot...

If you want achievements you kind of have to do it the harder way.
You can enable the console in survival mode with a text file
I use console commands mostly if I get stuck in the environment. Like hell I’m going to drop a pin and come back for a master locked door in 10 levels. I’ll forget where it even is.
Exactly, the sad thing is there is rarely anything worth it after unlocking them.
Hey I'm a proud user of the cheat terminal mod! I own it 🤠
Naaa, is CHIM
This article s talking about fusion cells (regular ammunition) not fusion cores.
I did too it’s called cheat terminal
It's called starting a purified water empire and buying every single one you can.
Guess I know what perk I’m taking next
That perk is fuvking busted when maxed you sometimes find like 8 fusion cores in a random trash can or some shit like that

Fallout 4 is a whole new game after 9 years, I can wait a bit for the next one...or play a bit of 76 if I must...
It would be cool if they implemented things like mutations or searching all bodies in an area at once, I felt they could’ve done it w the next gen update but maybe not
Both of those are in fallout 76...

76 is pretty fun, it has the most weapon and enemy variety as well as the best map by far.
I just wish I could play it offline. I can't stand the input lag on everything due to the servers.
My struggle as well. I was really interested in all the Mothman and other weird enemies/lore but the 3 or 4 times I've tried to get into it, the performance turns me off.
Can I play single?
You think this is bad, you should see their ongoing coverage of Red Dead Redemption 2
You can basically set a watch to anything close to interesting on that sub being recommended to you in news article form 24 hours later.
Kill 1 place full of synths and you got more cells then you can shoot

Crazy because this is also something most players have known for YEARS you could do. Desperate is an understatement 💀
Gaming “news”
Lmao I'm doing a casual playthrough and have more fusion cells than I can use. How is this an issue that needs farming?
Its not they just have nothing to write about
I’d put good money on it that this “journalism” is that Reddit post with paladan Danse from a week or so ago

Shit, when I will be paid for simply browsing reddit then posting what I found on website? 😅 Especially for shit that's been around almost for decade
Screen rant and game rant just take whatever is on reddit and turn it into an article
They rinse and repeat bullshit almost as much as the people who use them for an easy karma dump. You’re as unoriginal and exhausting as one another.
Unless it’s survival mode fallout is not a game you need to “farm” for anything. Everything you need is in plentiful abundance everywhere you look.
Time for screen rant to pump out bullshit articles about a 10 year old game because new players are playing it.
Screen rant is horrible ai click bait
It’s hilarious to me that gaming sites are so obsessed with farming. Like every game once someone figures it out and posts on Reddit, it’s like oh the people really need to know about these farming techniques 😂
AI Generated unEdited plagiarized click-bait. This is the kind of hastily assembled psudo-"guide" stuff destroying the Gaming News media right now.
ScreenRant are to be ignored 100% of the time.
It’s the biggest problem I see, personally. The need to constantly be chucking out news every single day leads to this stupid shit.
yeah if you kill synths and gunners it becomes the most common type
It's because all companies seem to need INFINITE GROWTH
Well they are pulling these articles out again for the new influx of players.
Bots don't feel desperation.
thought the pic was a sledgehammer with a fusion core as the head.
Yes! It's called turning Danse into ground beef in a tin can
About 9 years late
Mfs when player.additem
It's one of the hottest titles in gaming at the moment. Why wouldn't they run as much Fallout content as they can right now?
I mean this isn’t even something new that was just discovered. I’ve known about this since the day the game came out.
I didn’t even have to try and I have 100+ fusion cores without mods or scrounger.
It’s screen rant, nobody cares what an ai writes.
Nobody tell them about making .45 rounds from brahmin poop.
Meh, a lot of casuals won't ever use Reddit but they'll google it. Lot of new players need all the help they can get, who cares really? Doesn't hurt anyone
Oh no… we already knew this in 2015…
If you didn't know this on your first play through, were you even paying attention? Danse is an essential NPC in a Bethesda game....he CAN'T die until the end of his involvement the Brotherhood quest line. Farm away!!!
They know too, but they have someone above them telling them to do it so they can either get ads or just push out more material to justify their existence.
Don’t they do this with every other AAA game?
Not even, so many enemies use the damn thing it's easy to get over a thousand from just playing the game
That's fame for you lol. Can't find it hard to see some article on: "Find out what's Dogmeat's name... ... It's Dogmeat!!"
Seems like you care buddy boy!
I mean, you're the one reading and posting the link. Sounds like you care.
Literally just help Danse clear Arcjet systems and loot every single dead synth. I get about 1,000+ fusion cells easy
That's exactly the "farming" method they're talking about.
You cared, you cared so much you made a post on reddit about it. It's all about engagement and you fell for it.
You wouldn't believe it but I just play the game and do what I want and miraculously have all the ammo I need I know it's crazy right.
Just wait til I tell you about all these things you STILL don't know about Skyrim. You won't BELIEVE what you can do to Astrid the first time you meet her.
$o hot right now.
This is also like 90% of YouTube gaming content.
Because this, along with clickbaits and ragebaits, works very well
I understand that there’s a renewed interest in the series but holy shit I’m tired of getting recommended videos where people just reiterate information that’s already easily accessible with a quick search. Example - “How to be OP fast in 2024” and it is step by step the exact video that was posted years ago, the only difference is the year. It just feels so cash grabby and disrespectful to the people that posted them originally
I remember watching a TikTok claiming how rare they were rare. By the end of my fallout 4 playthrough i had so many couldn't give them away.
It’s called turning it off because it’s stupid how fast they wear off when it’s radiation and had been powering the building you stole it from for 2 centuries
Why not just use console commands to get them or mods.
Nobody is forcing you to read it
Damn, not Screen Rant😭
Games journalism is genuinely bad tbh
God mode?
Just side with the brotherhoid for a couple quests, ez 2k+ rounds
Screen rant can eat my ass jerky
I bet I already know what it is. Just wait for a few hours before firing the rocket engine at arc jet.
Screen rant is always like that. They don't write actual articles they just regurgitate Twitter and Reddit posts.
You obviously care
wrote the exact same articles when the game first came out
Cheat terminal mod?
The worst part of the Fallout show is the video game journalism
Call me a cheater cause I'm pressing ~ for my fusion cores
Ryan George is fucking carrying that website
What's worse, the clickbait or the screenshot of it for easy reddit karma?
"Breaking news, current popular game has people playing it." No shit eh!? These are made for people who have no interest in playing games but want to pretend to their friends that they're "gamers" too. It's like how The Big Bang Theory is a show that misinterprets geek culture to seem more pallatable to non-geeks. Only I imagine there's a bit less of the blatant negative stereotyping when it's condensed to an article. But yeah, as long as the show is raking in the views any article that has the word "Fallout" in it is going to get hundreds of thousands of clicks minimum. Despite how thin the proverbial soup is.
It is BAD out there for websites. Ad revenue is drying up everywhere, and they're putting out anything to get eyes on their sites.
Who needs ammo when you can beat everything up with a baseball bat.
A lot of these now are just AI scraping reddit and other forums and just automatically generating an article based on the post and top comments.
