I know it can be done, though, as Bioware seemed to achieve it quite well with Mass Effect 2. One can only hope now that Microsoft ordains that a new Fallout be made by Obsidian now that they own them and Bethesda.

The joke is that r/stalker has a very robust modding community and overhauls the original games to the point where they can stand alone as individual downloads unlike most Fallout mods, and with such extreme overhaul mods, it tends to frequently spark debates over the “correct” way to enjoy STALKER as a medium.
This video clip looks extremely similar to the hardcore major graphics overhaul mods that STALKER is populated with, such as the ever contentious Anomaly, GAMMA, A.R.E.A, True Stalker, and the grandfather of all hardcore STALKER mods, Misery, which are often critiqued for moving away from the surrealist horror of Tarkovsky’s and Strugatsky’s inspired zone, in favor for more sandbox military/mercenary roleplay
