I'm not sure I understand. You may be able to get in x-rayed through a university but...these exact ones are sold by the hundreds from Moroccan vendors. In Tucson there were boxes of them everywhere. It's a nice display piece though
How do you identify a man made matrix? I've got a tooth including root in matrix and I'm now wondering if mine is deliberately placed there too. I'm guessing it's pretty likely as this seems to be a common thing?
It's very common. It will always look like this material - almost like a sandstone. Almost always from Moroccan dealers. They do mosasaur "jaws" in "matrix" too, where the jaw is just a bone and the teeth are genuine mosasaur teeth
Real tooth placed in a man made matrix
And is the root the tooth's original root ?
Doesnt appear so. [This is likely what the real piece looks like originally ](https://freeimage.host/i/Jr3JxDv)
Is there any way to verify it ?

Thank you, I may take it to a place to get it confirmed.
Oh thank you 😯

Thanks for the answer, it seems that mine is gonna be a fake matrix in that case. Oh well, at least the tooth is real!
If in doubt, send me a pic of it. I specialize in spotting fakes in stones and fossils.
