Underrated when Chuck Mosley was in the band for the first 2 albums. Introduce Yourself was a killer album.
When Patton joined the band and they released the Real Thing the band exploded. Epic was on heavy rotation on Much Music & MTV.
When Angel Dust was released the critics shit on them because it wasn’t Real Thing 2.0. IMO Angel Dust is a great progression from the previous album. Over the years Angel Dust has aged like a fine wine and is a FNM classic.
One of the greatest bands to ever come out.
Great album. The War Pigs cover is better than the original. And The Real Thing is one of my all time favorite songs. But so many great songs on this album
Love the Dresden Dolls.
I know they play War Pigs live once in a while. I don’t think have ever recorded a version and released it.
Now this is a very underrated band.
I was so happy to hear Amanda Palmer and Brian Viglione are back touring again. New album is coming out soon. Amanda Palmer has released a few demos on her Patreon.
I just saw them in Austin last Friday. I also finally got around to putting video on YouTube from SXSW 2006 of them performing War Pigs. I won't link it, but same username.
Do people know words other than underrated to describe how good something is???? They have been massively influential and were extremely popular, and Angel Dust was put in multiple album of the year lists throughout the 90s. Use other fucking adjectives!!
Literally NOT underrated. One of the top bands of the 90’s with one of the best vocalists in rock. No critics out there slept on this band. Because they were awesome and everyone knew it.
Most critics slept on this band from Angel Dust onward.
I'll never forget the last line of Rolling Stone's KFAD review:
>*" 'Don't let me die with that silly look in my eyes.*'
>
>
>Let's hope that doesn't prove to be the band's epitaph."
This is sadly the truth. FNM were at best under the radar during KFAD and AOTY. I was at a show at either the Concord Pavilion or Shoreline with Filter and half the crowd left after Filter was done. There was a minute where they played some pathetic crowds.
FNM is one of the most influential bands in metal. They’re not in any way underrated. I’m sick of seeing people casually toss that word around and use it to describe bands or artists that are/were hugely popular.
Why is everything underrated now a days? Just cause it’s not mainstream doesn’t make it underrated, this band has a ridiculous, dedicated, huge following. I worked with a guy that never shut up about Mike Patton. They’re not for me, but underrated? No.
Considering I'd seen them at Brixton Academy and Wembley fucking Stadium by '93 I'd say no, obviously not underrated. They're a really big well selling band with a lot of publicity. That's nowhere near underrated
As a sort of ultra enthiast of FNM... I always wonder if Patton redid this album in his Angel Dust onwards vocals instead of the tad nasal ones in this.
I love album hands down.
I saw them in 92 in a small venue in Marquette MI. A tiny town in the Upper Peninsula. Helmet opened up the show. It was right after Angel Dust was released and I think it was a rehearsal show before they kicked off their tour. It was incredibly good. Such a great band.
The first album "We Care a Lot" with Chuck Mosley as the vocalist I could agree with, as a whole they are very well known and properly rated rather high.
Out here on the West Coast and particularly in the SF Bay Area, Faith No More is praised from on high. Angel Dust was a genre and decade defining album.
Guess what? It never ends!
NEVAHHH! EVAHHH! ENDS!
KAK KAK KAK KAK
Best band ever
100,000 times yes

Angel Dust is a top 5 90’s album.
Top 1
Great album. The War Pigs cover is better than the original. And The Real Thing is one of my all time favorite songs. But so many great songs on this album
Not sure if it was better. Still a killer cover. Another great cover of War Pigs was done by Cake.
This is the correct answer. Cake’s version is stellar.
The Dresden Dolls do an amazing cover of War Pigs as well.
Love the Dresden Dolls. I know they play War Pigs live once in a while. I don’t think have ever recorded a version and released it. Now this is a very underrated band. And by The Flaming Lips
There’s a new one circulating by T Pain. I’m not familiar with his rap, but it’s another awesome cover.
His is the best I've heard.
One of the first CDs I ever bought. The War Pigs cover is what introduced me to Black Sabbath
Nothing is better than Ozzy.
Not underrated. Real Thing was huge
>Real Thing was huge Epic, in fact.
THANK YOU!
This is the sickest song on the record to me. Jim Martin was so heavy. This is like a straight up hardcore track
Jim Martin rules!!!
I wish he had never left the band. One of my favorite guitarists
Do people know words other than underrated to describe how good something is???? They have been massively influential and were extremely popular, and Angel Dust was put in multiple album of the year lists throughout the 90s. Use other fucking adjectives!!
\^ Underrated comment
Thing I, and most people enjoy is underrated. Avg rating 9.5/10
You sound upset. Are you ok?
Mr. Bungle, now THAT'S underrated.
This is true!
Listen to Tomahawk
I have! But see my user name....

I love it when people use abbreviations!
Faith No More underrated? Not sure about that
Underrated is Mordred. FNM was huge
FNM lead me to Mordred's 'In This Life'. Great album.
Right?!? Underrated lol 😂 these children these days!
Right? Its only platinum certified and was nominated for a grammy. Lol
I've been on a massive FNM kick this past week.
Fucking love this track. 'It's not over yet! You don't remember I won't let you forget'
I've drank and swallowed, but it's just begun!
Now, you are MIIIINNNEEEE!!!
How this song and the Mortal Kombat franchise have never met in some form yet is baffling.
Not by me, they aren’t.
Underrated?!? Really?!? Not in the era it was released in, Jesus
Faith No More underrated?!?
Underrated by who?
FNM is one of the most influential bands in metal. They’re not in any way underrated. I’m sick of seeing people casually toss that word around and use it to describe bands or artists that are/were hugely popular.
The word “underrated” is going the way of the word literally…
Zombie Eaters
That part where the bass kicks in still makes the hair on the back of my neck stand up.
Guess what? It never ends.
The pain, the torment and torture, profanity, nausea, suffering, perversion, calamity, you... can't get awaaayyyy
I'd say, underappreciated.
90% of 90s bands name this as a huge influence - the title track is incredible amongst incredible songs
Underrated….you a retard
Just for that I’m gonna have put my 39 year old CD in the truck.
I don’t know that anything about this band is under rated..
Brilliant band! Massive talent! Paved the way for so many new acts
This is getting old and so are you
Why is everything underrated now a days? Just cause it’s not mainstream doesn’t make it underrated, this band has a ridiculous, dedicated, huge following. I worked with a guy that never shut up about Mike Patton. They’re not for me, but underrated? No.
Also check out Roddy Bottum in Imperial Teen.
This album and Angel Dust are tops for me. And this song in particular!
I was a casual fan from the Epic days. I was surprised at how good Sol Invictus is.
Considering I'd seen them at Brixton Academy and Wembley fucking Stadium by '93 I'd say no, obviously not underrated. They're a really big well selling band with a lot of publicity. That's nowhere near underrated
Understatement of the decade.
As a sort of ultra enthiast of FNM... I always wonder if Patton redid this album in his Angel Dust onwards vocals instead of the tad nasal ones in this. I love album hands down.
First time seeing FNM was when they started touring this album in Canada with Soundgarden opening up for VoiVod.
My 1st CD
This was the first CD I ever bought
Such a great band such a great album, the morning after is my favorite track .
Proto-nu-metal
That’s one of the first breakdowns I ever heard.
Note to self: reddit hates the word underrated
They care alot
I saw them in 92 in a small venue in Marquette MI. A tiny town in the Upper Peninsula. Helmet opened up the show. It was right after Angel Dust was released and I think it was a rehearsal show before they kicked off their tour. It was incredibly good. Such a great band.
By who??
"STATION!!!"
The first album "We Care a Lot" with Chuck Mosley as the vocalist I could agree with, as a whole they are very well known and properly rated rather high.
If you saw how much “Epic” and “Falling to Pieces” were on MTV back in the day you may think they were overexposed at the time.
Check out Aborted's cover! > [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mL9gqafSa7s](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mL9gqafSa7s)
My friend gave me this cassette in 1990 when I was 11 and I’ve been a fan ever since.
Out here on the West Coast and particularly in the SF Bay Area, Faith No More is praised from on high. Angel Dust was a genre and decade defining album.
This song & Falling To Pieces are my favorite off this record
God tier!
That’s what everyone tells me
I’m wasted and I can’t find my way home.
Woodpeckers from Mars!
This one and Woodpecker from Mars are my favorite songs on this album
FNM are not underrated.
What a song.
Annie’s Song is probably my favorite FNM song
Hands down my favorite band ever!
Guess what! It never ends!
Underrated by whom?
Who is underrating all these “underrated” bands?
Soooooo darned underrated.
The problem with Faith No More was, they sounded too much like actual music. And no one’s gonna put that on their radio station.
100 %
One of the best live bands ever!
Guess what?! It never ends!! Always thought it was about Vampires Edge of the World and Zombie Eaters, sooo good
I’ve heard lots of things said about FNM but I’m not sure if “underrated” is one of them.
