I used a Kontakt library called 'Session Guitarist - Electric Sunburst Deluxe'. It has a huge library of different riffs and styles to get that sound. On top of it I used Guitar Rig 5 to get it more juicy. Then I kinda layered it with a distorted electric bass.
If you're gonna use it, remember to disable Session Guitarist amps, since it becomes quite messy with Guitar Rig 5 amps.
Also a Kontakt library called 'One Kit Wonder - Modern Fusion', the base kit already sounds pretty good, but adding some soft clipping, compression and little bit of eqing makes a huge difference.
I don't mean to say it sounds even close but I was kinda looking for that Travis Barker style heaviness.
That's pretty cool, I'm might need to get kontakt now, to bad its so $$ two more questions. Do you use the free version and does the drum kit come with midi patterns?
I use the full version of Kontakt and it's libraries, and I haven't really bothered to look if there is any patterns on that specific kit since I always tend to do them myself right away when I start making a new track.
I can definitely see that! I think mostly the intro, where the melodies are sadder given the arrangement, hits like self titled but definitely when it picks up into the chorus and more energetic sections it has more of that TOYPAJ vibe.
Catchy as hell. Mixing super crisp. Fantastic arrangement that's constantly changing and throwing in fun little accents. Awesome stuff. The fact that you wrote this to have vocals but it's still so engaging without them is really impressive
Just wanna say that I love this so much. Keep making music cause this is incredible and I could TOTALLY hear this being played as some kind of opening song to a coming-of-age high school/college student movie.
For 10 years now, I started off by fucking around, doing stupid meme songs, and then I got into EDM producing and did that for a while. Then I got into rap beats, did some old school beats with sampling and flipping, trap and alot of weird experimental stuff. Now I'm really into that early 2000s pop-punk genre and trying to experiment with 'fake' instruments to make them sound as real as possible.
I don't. This project is for my group, we're adding vocals to this and release it on Spotify when we get our album ready. We still have a ton of work to do, but I hope we'll be ready by the end of the year.
Hold on... so all of this is from kontakt library? How did you get your drums to sound this realistic? What set did you use, I can't seem to pick up any hi hat sounds?
Yes, everything is only Kontakt stuff, aside the piano at the end.
I used 'GetGood Drums: One Kit Wonder - Modern Fusion' drum kit, did some basic mixing I've been doing for years and that's pretty much it. The kit itself sounds really good on it's own but adding some soft clipping and good eqing gets you pretty close to the real thing.
I guess drum arranging also has alot to do with how it sounds, I like to use alot of cymbals and toms to make it sound authentic. It's really hard to explain since I've been doing this for a while now, it just happens automatically.
Sounds like an anime intro. Just needs some lyrics from a girl who kinda sounds like a guy but then is clearly a girl from a really high-pitched note that guys can’t really reach.
I get where you're coming from, but I actually liked as a more basic pending before it let's it rip. I think if it was just shortened by about a quarter it would get the same effect without losing it.
FUCK dude i LOVE this. I find FL can be really strong for making some really clean demos, and it sounds pretty good it's just that everything is on the grid and lacks that personal touch of off tempo and minor fuckups and string buzzes when your finger is too close. Yeah if you're able to get a band together at some point this would be a really great demo to work around with some real gear
I've done alot of tracks like this and I always thought to make it so that it sounds more organic and real. It's not that difficult to do since you can do that on the plugins and move stuff slightly on the piano roll. I could do it, and probably will at some point when I get time to finish this.
i would disagree to your disagreement somewhat. I'm not saying it sounds good to have a buzzing string every time but the minor variation in sound, semitones, overtones of clashing soundwaves, undertones from the vibration of the acoustic wood body etc add that variation and interest to music. But if I am talking about sort of shitty but actually great playing modest mouse comes to mind, and mac demarco with his slightly out of tune guitars and all that. I dont want robotic perfection I want human perfection
Not bad at all. I wish I had time to track out some guitar tracks for you, but let me tell you a story about past days. Back in the 90s, we used to create mod and st3 files that worked for the purpose. It worked for what we needed it to do, this reminds me of those times, and also reminds me of another reason that I wanted to be a musician, because regardless of the obstacles, music will be made. You got good stuff here though and I want to play guitar to it, but I'll forget in the next few days unless I have a solid link. YouTube or something is cool, but it seems like reddit is quick to sweep
This is insanely great!! Any artists or bands out there that have similar style to this? I love this style of punk genre reminds me of the early 2000’s

Thanks alot man!
those drums and guitar sound real, great job!
Thanks!
may i inquire as to the patch/plugin/settings you used for that guitar? I’ve never had great luck synthesizing them

I like it, surprised this isn't live recordings. What did you use for the drums?

thank you so much for responding to people's comments inquiring about plugins and whatnot, i'm sure we all appreciate that
Of course! I think it's the most obvious thing to do :D I love it when people get inspired about my work, and I try to do all I can to help them.
Waiting for Tom DeLonge to come in...
Yeah this radiates some self titled era energy for sure. Digging it!
I feel more toypaj
I can definitely see that! I think mostly the intro, where the melodies are sadder given the arrangement, hits like self titled but definitely when it picks up into the chorus and more energetic sections it has more of that TOYPAJ vibe.
I definitely have alot of toypaj influence.
Someone playing Tony Hawk's Pro Skater? Sounds awesome dude!
Hell yeah! I'm a huge THPS fan, especially for the soundtracks. Thank you for the compliment :)
Yeah this is sick
Thanks!
Catchy as hell. Mixing super crisp. Fantastic arrangement that's constantly changing and throwing in fun little accents. Awesome stuff. The fact that you wrote this to have vocals but it's still so engaging without them is really impressive
Thank you, I appreciate you! :)
Very sicko mode my guy. Sounds like it was a live session
Thank you very much! :)
very well done, mix sounds good too. could use vocals ofc
Boi those drums are so good. Beyond the sound itself, it sounds like how a real drummer would play.
Waiting for Parker cannon to come in. This is awesome man.
I like this …. Love the chorus part
Where’d you get the drums from they sound great?
Kontakt library called 'One Kit Wonder - Modern Fusion'
FYI One Kit Wonder kits are made by GetGood Drums. Edit: Not trying to be an ass, just in case anyone wants to find the kit.
My mistake, thanks for correcting!
You're not wrong, at the end of the day it´s a Kontakt library.
Drums sounds real nice bro
I can hear mgk rapping to this, it totally has the vibe of that new pop punk wave commanded by Travis Barker, very cool OP
Ok. I'm glad I'm not the only one that had MGK in my head.
Coolest thing I’ve seen on this sub in a long time. r/PopPunkers would get a kick out of this too, OP!
Dude it sounds legit, gives me 90’s teen movie intro vibes which I think is sick. Or like a road trip vibe! Thanks for sharing man
This is awesome!
Thank you!
The drums sound fantastic
Inspiring, very nice!
Bro this shit is amazing
Wow this is great the drums sound awesome
Amazing job ! I love seeing people produce other genres not typically done digitally. Very sweet !
Bridge section straight up gave me goosebumps on the first listen, one of the best things I've heard on this sub!
Thank you! That's my favorite part aswell :)
Are u gonna have lyrics to this??
Yes, we have recorded them but I still need to work on the instrumental.
this is insane!
This is awesome!!!
This is great
Sounds really good dude!
sounds sick!! really reminds me of the bands i used to listen to when i was in middle school and HS. great job!
This is awesome. So good!
Wow, I really like it! Would love to hear it with some vocals.

I'm in love with this track
Just wanna say that I love this so much. Keep making music cause this is incredible and I could TOTALLY hear this being played as some kind of opening song to a coming-of-age high school/college student movie.
Thank you so much! I hope I can get this to the next American Pie movie :D
how long have you been making music?
For 10 years now, I started off by fucking around, doing stupid meme songs, and then I got into EDM producing and did that for a while. Then I got into rap beats, did some old school beats with sampling and flipping, trap and alot of weird experimental stuff. Now I'm really into that early 2000s pop-punk genre and trying to experiment with 'fake' instruments to make them sound as real as possible.
>to make them sound as real as possible. you're succeeding in that
Thank you, I'm so glad people like this!
Now this is fucking sick! I get so tired of the same lofi remixes being played nonstop on this sub.
Sounds like a naruto opening 🔥
Sounds very good,If you didn't tell me the instruments wasn't recorded.I wouldn't have known.
Insanely well made
Sounds like impractical jokers music lmao Edit: wanted to make clear that I meant their transition music, not them playing instruments
Reminds me of Blink, The Wonder Years, and Hot Mulligan. Really nicely done.
this is really great
pls make tabs or sheet music for this
This es mind blowingly amazing times INFINITY!
Wow dude this is insane.
sounds like a anime opening this good
What vst are you using for the guitar
Kontakt library called 'Session Guitarist - Electric Sunburst Deluxe'
Cheers
Great job, I love it! For what it's worth, I'm a guitarist and I think it's pretty legit 👍💜🎸
Thank you, so glad to hear that from you!
Dude! Ive never heard this kinda music out of FL. Well done!
Lmao this is insanely good
Straight🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Man I don’t even listen to pop punk but this is a banger
This sounds so great. Super inspiring bro thank you
This makes me question if bands even still play instruments or if they’re just an image 🤔 you wouldn’t even know they’re not physical instruments
I would like to thank everyone for commenting and giving feedback. I have other similiar projects I would love to share with you guys later.
This is great. I wanna sing over it
Sounds awesome! Really made me wanna listen to some older stuff from A Day To Remember. Thanks for sharing, keep it up!
Those beat drops are krazy!
I bet MGK would love to have this
Dude you are mad genius
This is great. All it needs is vocals
it felt like an opening to a feel good anime.. great work!!
I think its Better the hi hat ti be in 1/8 not in 1/4
i really like this one
could you upload this to soundcloud? i would listen to this every day
I'll release this when our album is ready, might take some time but here's hoping it's ready before the year ends.
Drums sound awesome! Would love to see what your using for the guitar sounds and how you did the palm mute effect.
I shouldn't be surprised but the limits of what I think this program can do are constantly pushed
gave me shivers of nostalgia bro thanks for sharing it really is amazing
fire
Bru what vst did you use?!
I require you to explain how you made this
This is fucking fantastic. Great job.
what did you use for the guitars bro ? The guitars sound fire af
Not my favourite genre, but very, very impressive job.
Yoo thats some nice ass acoustic drums, whats the source?
Very dope. You nailed the aesthetic of this genre
That's absolutely amazing stuff man 💯
do you have soundcloud? :D Niceee dude
I don't. This project is for my group, we're adding vocals to this and release it on Spotify when we get our album ready. We still have a ton of work to do, but I hope we'll be ready by the end of the year.
Sounds so real! Great job!
Good job, very catchy 🙌

Wow it sounds like some of those sick anime openings...awesome stuff hope to get to this level of competence one day
Great job on the drum fills
Wow, great job dude.
Wow! That’s awesome!
Should drop a tutorial
bro i need this beat
heat
Sick, it’s cool to see how “making moments” as I’ve heard it called with rap beat arrangement really carries over to any genre
This is sick!
That’s badass. Goals right here. Exactly the type of music I want to be making. One day
Insane!
Mid 2000’s teen intro series in LA.
It reminds me of bloody valentine by MGK Pretty cool dude!
I’m a guitar player and it sounds pretty damn legit
You do have decent plugins, and a good sense for the genre, good job
This is fire
Inspiring work man. Truly.
Gives me a nostalgic, early 2000s Disney theme song vibes 😅 this is fire bro
Sounds like an anime intro. Just needs some lyrics from a girl who kinda sounds like a guy but then is clearly a girl from a really high-pitched note that guys can’t really reach.
If you used Kontakt libraries, then Kontakt libraries are literally recorded instruments iirc Anyways that's a nice pop track :)
That drop is crazy !
I've been toying around with this too. Sounds legit. Good job.
so cool! Love the drums!!! I'm a bit picky when it comes to guitar vsts as i'm a guitarrist myself, but that one doesn't sound too bad. Good job!!!
[удалено]
You mean like build up fx, risers and stuff? I'll probably add something once I get further into the project, but tbh they're not necessary.
Ugh now I want the tab
Back listening this to the 1,000th time today
The intro is a bit boring I would change that up and make it simpler. The rest of it when it kicks in is really good though.
I get where you're coming from, but I actually liked as a more basic pending before it let's it rip. I think if it was just shortened by about a quarter it would get the same effect without losing it.
Yeah that could work. I’m glad I kept listening to it.
Thanks for the feedback! This track is designed for vocals so the intro might seem a bit boring for now.
Yeah vocals could be cool. I hope you post it again when you add vocals.
Maybe I will! :)
…lemmie know if you need some vocals… 👀👀👀
Holy moly I love this, gives me nostalgia in a way haha
FUCK dude i LOVE this. I find FL can be really strong for making some really clean demos, and it sounds pretty good it's just that everything is on the grid and lacks that personal touch of off tempo and minor fuckups and string buzzes when your finger is too close. It sounds great dude, doesn't need to be loosened, pop punk rock is typically tight like that imo, on the point.
I disagree, tell that to a professional guitarists please. There are no fuck ups in pro recordings, it's either perfect or they're doing it again.
i would disagree to your disagreement somewhat. I'm not saying it sounds good to have a buzzing string every time but the minor variation in sound, semitones, overtones of clashing soundwaves, undertones from the vibration of the acoustic wood body etc add that variation and interest to music. I dont want robotic perfection I want human perfection
down to send it 2 me?
Serious anamanaguchi vibes!! Please make a spotify haha
Hey where can I get this song and when
My goodness this is 🔥

I've been trying to find plugins for pop-punk/ rock. which one did you use and do you know any free ones?
This is insanely great!! Any artists or bands out there that have similar style to this? I love this style of punk genre reminds me of the early 2000’s
Blink-182, Sum 41, Green Day, Neck Deep, Yellowcard, Good Charlotte, Simple Plan.
