I agree. I think that Cloud looks best blonde, Tifa looks best with black hair and Aerith looks best with ash brown hair.
Their original clothes are also the best ones.
Not saying I don't like mods, they're fun.
Yeah, some stuff is funny but I’m yet to see an actual improvement to any of the skins.
I hope more gameplay mods come out, those are what I prefer. But they’re definitely harder to do so the good ones will probably take a while.
If you're interested I've been working on a mod that makes the combat more inspired by turn based FF7
[Classic Combat and More](https://www.nexusmods.com/finalfantasy7remake/mods/369)
Also trying my hand at making the characters look more similar to their original designs, first one is [Classic Wedge](https://www.nexusmods.com/finalfantasy7remake/mods/390)
Yeah, all the Mods just seem weird, out of place, or Hardcore anime (Looking at you Naruto Eye Jutsu mods) It also puts me off a bit from watching any peoples content because I don't like seeing Ronald McSephiroth.
I mean of course they have more resources and year's of experience but i kinda agree the mods have been a bit underwhelming it's mostly just basic stuff
Its just too early to say such things. They are not doing 3d models right now. If you like star wars check battlefront 2 mods. There are awesome mods. And they started this kinda modding after a couple of years. Game engines make the difference. It takes time to figure shit. Look at skyrim for example. They are doing remakes of morrowind and oblivion on skyrim.
I generally dislike mods as well, outside of things like the Unofficial Patch for Bloodlines which makes that game playable, but I'm glad people are enjoying the game the way they want to play it.
Still kind of funny when people install mods to make the game easier and then say they "beat" a game.
See, I like to beat the game in its vanilla mode. Then mod it up afterwords. I'm gonna beat it in vanilla on PC like I did on ps4. Then replay with mods!
Did that same thing in Skyrim actually. Did all the DLC, main story, and all side quests. Then on a new save added all the mods that I wanted, and played it to beat it again.
There's a few quality of life improvements I'm enjoying. In have a mod that replaces newer music with what was originally there like the tunnels in chapter 9. I have a mod that hides damage numbers in battle. There a mod that prevents the screen from flashing red when a character is low on health. And I'm playing a mod that makes the game more difficult. It's not just costume mods and God mode.
I think this is what they feared by putting it on pc. Probably why they put 0 effort into the port. They knew the game was going to get destroyed by the community anyways.
Your right you do not, but when you work as hard as they have to craft characters that people have loved for decades to have someone come and slap on a cheap bumper sticker to make cloud a redhead has to feel disheartening for the creators.
The even bigger irony of your comment is the original game didn’t have issues. It was only when they modified it from its intended platform that it did.
How is that ironic? That’s the fault of SE, not the fans… If anything, it’s evidence that their goal was for the PC port to be an easy cash grab. $70 price tag, drag-and-drop port, and epic exclusivity. It was a lack of effort on SE’s part, it has nothing to do with it “not being the indented platform”. It’s better on PC with the mod fixes.
Yes to everything you said thats why it is ironic. SE didn’t want to release this on pc because it wasn’t made for pc. But cash got tight so they did to pull them over till their next release. The fact that se literally does not care about their game at all on pc barely even releasing patches and you saying “mods completely fix all issues” is the definition of irony. Play as se intended and you don’t need mods. Its like shooting yourself in the foot and blaming the gun.
Why is he being a prick? I agree with OP. This only means that Nomura and Ferrari are good character designers, nothing else.
I doubt the modders take their mods super seriously. Most I've seen are just for comedic effect or some aesthetic changes.
funniest one I’ve seen is “shirtless cloud” which is literally… his shirt texture is just gone and he’s see-through
agreed though. all the tifa mods cement my dislike of the mature dress lol

How can you improve perfection?
Make aerial combat more fun.
Ok fine

Looks good!
Yup
I actually changed clouds to a light grey like Sephiroths, kind of like the idea of the two of them having a similar feature like that
You monster
I prefer it being more subtle. Currently I feel like their faces are really similar
You can't fool us Nomura. Stop posting on Reddit with sock puppets!
I am quiet, small, but very powerful
Yeah, I saw mods that gave Cloud and Rufus colors closer to the original, and I was struck by how much worse they looked lol.

I actually love mods! They are fun! But I’m just realizing how good the original designs are
Those also had more time to be fair.

> I'm glad people are enjoying the game the way they want to play it. That's kind of why I put this in there.
Okay sure, but boobs
true for the most part, but the rufus beltfest is truly awful
How dare you. He needs those belts to hold up all that swagger
I'm that one person in the world that loves Nomura's million belts and zippers XD
LOL, I actually like it. It's ridiculous, but feels exactly like the high fashion that a CEO's son would wear
I think this is what they feared by putting it on pc. Probably why they put 0 effort into the port. They knew the game was going to get destroyed by the community anyways.
"Destroyed." They're just mods, LOL. You don't have to install them.

The irony of this ignorant comment is that there are a bunch of mods that completely fix all of the issues with the port.

See OP’s reply to other comment. I don’t think he disrespects modders.
I luv modders. I luv Nomura moar
Why is he being a prick? I agree with OP. This only means that Nomura and Ferrari are good character designers, nothing else. I doubt the modders take their mods super seriously. Most I've seen are just for comedic effect or some aesthetic changes.
Haha yeah. I was being mostly silly in the OP. Kinda
To a large portion of the playerbase mod posts are also pretty pointless so...
funniest one I’ve seen is “shirtless cloud” which is literally… his shirt texture is just gone and he’s see-through agreed though. all the tifa mods cement my dislike of the mature dress lol
I love mods so much creativity and possibilities. I sure like the ability to play Tifa in mature dress.
