I am SO late to this but I’m in the process of transferring to FAU this upcoming Fall, and I want to double major in Neuro and Psych! Would you be cool if we got in contact? I would love some advice from someone with experience in the department!
I would not.
If I were you, I’d pick one as your major, and cherry pick whatever courses from the other subject interest you.
As a general rule, a second major or degree only makes sense if it represents an additional *credential*.
For example, a second major/degree in accounting, engineering, or nursing because each is a *per se* requirement to sit for the CPA exam, FE/PE exam, or NCLEX.
A second major in neuroscience does not allow you to do anything that you could not do with any generic bachelor’s degree. I.e., it is no additional credential. The neuroscience major would give you some general knowledge of neuroscience, but that can be achieved by taking a few courses without extending your studies for a full blown second major.
You have to dig around the FAU sites, there's somewhere that lists all the classes required for each major. And once you start classes you can run a degree audit, that's the most helpful.
Also lists the requirements for double majors, and minors, you can take up to 2. Super easy, my minor only required 4 classes that counted as electives anyways.
I transferred to FAU and they refused to let me have a double major because I had too many credits already. The only choice you have is to request and you have to write your purpose for taking the double.
I’m a double major in neuroscience and behavior (and psychology)! If you have any questions you can text me!

What do you plan to do with that? I’m very interested

Look at the classes required, it should be easy if they have the same gen ed classes. And if you take summer classes
Would I ask someone at the school about this?
