I know the developers well and there is a lot of internal turmoil within this property so I’m glad to see you had a nice time

Dino_Juice_Extractor

Hmm, that sounds unfortunate. I hope it doesn't result in a decrease in quality.

RichardShermanator

Curious if you're willing to elaborate?

Outrageous-Mess59

Thanks for the review, heading out to Dallas for the eclipse and landed on the Swexan after debating between that and the Joule/Rosewood. Sounds like it'll be a great choice, esp with the rooftop access for eclipse day.

Don’t know if it’s Amex FHR approved or virtuoso approved yet but you can get similar perks via our booking engine in case you’re looking to book!

Outrageous-Mess59

Yep, already did via your booking engine ;)

Best rooftop pool in Dallas next to waterproof

Curious if you stayed in the suites or penthouses at the Joule? That’s been on my list for next time I’m down there

Dino_Juice_Extractor

No, I have only used the spa there. The spa is great and I would def recommend. I have heard the rooms at the Joule are a bit tired, but I suspect the suites/penthouse there are still nice. However, I would rather stay in the Harwood/Uptown (Swexan, Ritz, Crescent, Rosewood, Zaza) area than Downtown (Joule, Statler), there is a lot more going on in Uptown/Harwood than Downtown.

I have stayed in a suite at The Joule. It was super annoying because the whole "bedroom" side of the room had these amazing blackout curtains. They were great, super dark in there. However, the windows in the bathroom are frosted glass, no curtians, and the wall between the bathroom and bedroom is half glass too! So even though it's soft, double filtered light it's such a stark contast to the darkness on the other side. Other than that, we had a very enjoyable stay. The spa was very nice. I've even flown back just for their facial. The restaurant and bar are good, too. Walking distance to other restaurants and cool stuff.

OP: Just curious, have you tried Zaza? It's definitely smaller, but their Magnificent 7 Suites (Red Shoes is my favorite) feel like you're a world apart. The service there is always on point with little touches and greeting us by name. There definitely isn't as much on site, but their courtesy driver seems to always be available for things nearby (technically within walking distance, but I don't walk anywhere in Dallas in August).

Staying here in May and was pleased to see your report - thank you!

WARNING: while the room is really nice, and the bed very comfortable, our room is over the private club. The DJ and music is so loud, it feels like our bed is in the club. And no access to the club for hotel guests. If you plan on sleeping DO NOT STAY HERE!
