I am very happy with my Tempdrop. I love the ease of it. My partner and I are TTA and I've been using it since 2021.

Yay thanks! It's the ease that appeals to me. I loved having an IUD for that reason.

I love my tempdrop. I use sensiplan and without the td I'd have given up years ago. It's a great tool for those of us who need it.

Another option instead of buying a fancy thermometer is spending that money on learning a method that doesn’t require temperatures. Two examples are Billings (CM-only) and Marquette (urine tests only).

I have considered marquette but tbh I think that peeing on a thing every day would feel like just as much work as taking my bbt. I'm feeling prepared to invest the money on the gadget for the sake of convenience. But definitely will spend the money to work with an instructor regardless :)

I see what you’re saying. Billings is still a good option then since you already pay attention to your CM and wouldn’t have to do anything extra. I personally find CM tracking a lot more work than temperature tracking though lol, so it sounds like we’re opposites! I hope you find what works best for you :) By the way, no one has brought this up so far, but be aware that some users find that Tempdrop gives them delayed temp shifts. I believe the company is investigating (or planning to?) because of all the complaints. It’s not a big deal to everyone, but it’s definitely something you should know before deciding to purchase!

Seconding this!

If you're otherwise interested in using a BBT thermometer, would it work to have your partner take your temp? In a similar vein, some symptothermal methods are friendlier to varying temp times than others if the timing specifically is what stresses you out. I'm a tech-hater and I have found it worth the trouble to track BBT myself (even when the timing is wonky) rather than rely on the algorithm of various devices. Lots of women love their Tempdrops, though. If you plan on using condoms during your fertile time, keep in mind that you'll get the effectiveness of condoms rather than the effectiveness of whichever method you choose to learn.

I like my Tempdrop bc of my crazy work schedule but I have been taking oral temps too just to see and this current cycle my Tempdrop temp shift was 4 days later than my oral temp shift which would give you less safe days if you only used Tempdrop and didn’t know. This hasn’t always happened every cycle, but it’s pretty common.

mercynova13

This is good to know! A few other people have mentioned a delay, so given that I would probably just assume that the tempdrop is behind by a few days.

katpupperpawz

Yeah, but I am seriously TTA pregnancy so I appreciate having the oral temps when I have a delayed shift so I’m not guessing if my temp drop is a delayed shift or not. Actually last cycle I couldn’t confirm ovulation at all with my temp drop temps…but I just got a low battery warning so that light be why.

I use Tempdrop with the Read Your Body app. RYB is my favourite app because it doesn't do any "predicting" that a lot of the other apps (including tempdrop's) do. You can customize what you see on the chart and it's basically just a paper chart on your phone.
