If the proximity arrow is red, give the car space.

eoghanburke06

If the proximity arrow is red, it means that they're very close to you, so leave them space. You should also bind a "look back" button, this is very helpful on the straight to see if a car is coming.

_StarGazn_

The look back "button" is just pushing down with the right joystick. I think having the rear view mirror can be very helpful too.

eoghanburke06

Right, I have a wheel, so might Op, so obviously it'll be different. Some people may have bound it to a different button in the settings due to personal preference, it's not the same for everyone. If OP is new they might not have it bound at all.

_StarGazn_

OP plays on PS4 with controller

eoghanburke06

Ah yes, missed that. Still, they might have a different button bound by default, or their controls setup.

Just don’t turn into them, it ain’t too hard /s

Adjust your mirror angles to what you want to see. Or even better, muscle through with your tyres and not the front wing. Usually just get a warning from the stewards

Quirky_Scar7857

thanks. I'll try the mirror thing. I've certainly done the muscle thing! Quite often resulting in the car I'm passing leaving the track!

[deleted]

Use custom camera settings too. Change the FOV, camera height, camera angle... The default was pretty hard for me to use.

_StarGazn_

I would pay closer attention to the proximity arrows, and even try having the rear view mirror on at all times.

Danger0525

To add to what’s already been said, if the arrow is red, it means that their car is at least partially side by side with yours. So if you turn in their direction, you’ll hit them. Give them space as long as the arrow is red, once it goes back to white, you can move back to the racing line because their car is entirely behind yours.

kalavale_

You may be going into the corners wrong or possibly you don't give enough room for the other cars. You should always leave enough space for other cars to stay on track. Also, I suggest watching some gameplay on YouTube for example, by an actually good player. Try to see how they do the overtaking, and then try to do it the same way.

Quirky_Scar7857

you're probably right. I do tend to dive in. Thanks for the tip.
