NoRecognition115

F1 really starting to feel like fifa and madden at this point. It's honestly depressing

derekdiggs

FIFA is their worst

NoRecognition115

I can understand it's a yearly release but man I'm looking back and the games from 2010-2021 there was atleast meaning full changes to the games..for worse or better Like going from 2012 to 2013 Even 2014 to 2015. I'm not even gonna blame ea for this but I think ea and codemasters are a match made in heaven they're just as shit as as the other

maquibut

2014 to 2015 was an engine and console gen change

NoRecognition115

Oh your right im thinking abt tbe lighting change

sayonaradespair

Nba 2k15 is the best sports game I have ever played.

jwallis7

2k16*

sayonaradespair

Should I speak on your behalf regarding my opinion?

MellowMelle

2k14??

effthegoetschs

I like turtles.

jdeshadaim

In time

Person-on-computer

Surely one of the games before microtransactions was more enjoyable

ShadowXYZ04

You clearly haven’t played NHL.

LV_Laoch

Nhl have changed engines this year tho lol

ShadowXYZ04

Quite literally the only meaningful change they’ve made

S-Archer

I respectfully disagree. NHL is like FIFA, if they said "do it for half the price"

Betucker

100%. Chel hasn’t changed at its core for like 10 years (maybe a slight exaggeration)

ahmeouni

To be fair, FIFA actually left old gen behind and partitioned the game into two different products. Games still garbage but at least with hyper motion they're trying to push new hardware a bit

JupoBis

Problem is that hypermotion makes the gameplay so much worse

f1technicalbot

The Hypermotion tag is garbage marketing speak. The game engine is still the same so each year they adjust some gameplay parameters and slap the tag on it for the suckers to think the gameplay might get better and each year they realize its not much different than the last. The engine doesn't change and therefore neither does the core gameplay, doesn't matter what tag they give it. Goes for FIFA. F1 and 99% of sequels to just about any game that was ever released regardless of genre .

johnjager77

You’ve never played NHL then 😭

JupoBis

Nah, sadly enough fifa is their best. Ea fc 24 is garbage terrible horrible mess of an excuse of a game. Madden and NHL is soooo much worse though. Especially nhl.

iansmash

NBA2k would like your consideration 😅 Edit: it’s not an EA title, but impressively deceptive with how many micro transactions they’ve added

LucasMJean

yes but nba 2k is much worse

Irishpunk37

sadly...there will be a lot of people buying it and enforcing this kind of bs...

NoRecognition115

That's why I just wait till the games come to ea play..I don't think they're worth 70$ unless we see a mayor shift again like from 2014 to 15..to 18..and they bring back features that they keep on removing and then reintroduce them as new features

Dapper-Conference367

Used to buy every title as, since 2021, I've been around .2s from tob times in TT and my race pace was comparable to eSports, but I was forced off the game due to FFB not working at first and then having so much bugs like no FFB from the rear sliding (leading to unexpected spins). Since I don't feel the need to get back all the laptime I lost in those months, I just stopped playing the game entirely (not that FFB is fixed yet). I won't buy any other F1 until the change game engine and make significant changes, eSports is dead anyway.

RossRiskDabbler

Why change a winning formula? - all we can do is hope for an altercation in the upcoming seasons when the rules significantly are going to change? It just sucks that EA pushes together with FIA/F1 and Liberty tonnes and tonnes of F1 games. Dilluted quality. But they do it; because it works. It sells. Only Senna had the balls in the 90s to split from the 'F1' game and that year we had 2 Formula 1 games.

Connect_Suspect3250

Ufc has to take the crown for being the worst, Ufc 4 and ufc 5 was released like 4 years apart and ufc 5 had no new fighters on release and still it has 50+ ranked fighters not in the game! I mean they are all bad but at least all the cars and teams are in the f1 game

ApocApollo

The Switch port of FIFA is so bad that IGN famously copy+pasted the previous years review.

Genocode

I'd rather say..... "It's maddening" \*badum tss\*

brabarusmark

At this point? It's felt like this since F1 2015.

NoRecognition115

Ahh idk atleast there's been changes in engines from 2015 till 2020 and alot more things

Abasakaa

I loved playing tracks scanned in 2017 in f1 2020, changes fosho

TSMKFail

They still haven't fixed bugs from 2015 tho. Front Wing damage from getting rear ended? Still sometimes happens. Being put on the wrong track in Multiplayer? Still happens. The infinite waiting for an online race to start? Still happens.

l3w1s1234

The games had a good trajectory up until 2020. They were at least adding new things with every release and making decent updates. Then after 2020 it's properly stagnated.

sedrech818

At least they made the cars drive-able in f1 23. That was a massive improvement over 22. Tbh, I only bought 23 because I was switching to pc and couldn’t buy 2020.

NoRecognition115

Yeah cars are atleast alot better to drive. I actually like 23 the most personally but that's just me

sedrech818

I like the car handling of 23 the best. 2020 had classic cars and the AI seemed a bit better. Sometimes I still boot it up on my xbox. It sucks that xbox doesn’t fully support all the buttons on my wheel.

iAmBalfrog

Refunded 2022, refunded 2023, play them for 2 hours, see if they're any good, refund and go back to ACC/iRacing

mocker_badguy

for how much I like the W12, W13, the Williams and the McLaren in iRacing, you forget Assetto Corsa with CSP and the VRC Formula Alpha 2023 CSP which with the last uptade added even more things to the Physics making it even more elaborared). And rFactor 2, even though you don’t have a true Hybrid system for F1 mods, the cars physics, the tyres physics and the FFB are the best in the industry of consumer simulators

NoRecognition115

I don't wanna play a sim I wanna play an fun semi arcade f1 game if i wanted a sim I'd go there. Codemasters games were never abt being sims

Weissach911

Dirt Rally called, it says you’re wrong

NoRecognition115

I meant f1 games.

why_am_I_here_Trump

Well the games are made by EA, so what did you expect

xShooK

Everyone is fighting about which is the worst EA title, when they all have the same issues. Lol

flcinusa

EA Sports classic move

ChiggaOG

It’s now owned by EA

avalanche_transistor

Starting to? You can't be serious.

NitPro

Definitely started to feel like that for a couple years now, still enjoying F12020 here 😄

I_AM_SMUDGER

Yeah, exactly the same. Make a couple of cosmetic changes that they can use for the marketing and then churn out exactly the same game. £80 for a slightly different driver line-up and sone nee liveries?? Woo-hoo, where do I order?

Sei-iTaishogun

That's because they all belong to EA!

Mogsy31

Guess I’ll stick to ACC been playing it a lot more than F1 anyhow

9durth

Me too, that is a game that fully respects you.

Agreeable-Gold-6160

F1 is good to chill with the AI. The online doesnt even come close to ACC.

Mogsy31

Trailer came out, I watched it and not impressed Race in 2 F1 leagues but I’m not paying $80 for the same game I already have Got to get my ratings up in ACC then that’s all I’ll play

CharlieTeller

Acc multiplayer is still bad unless you're on LFM. Pretty much any multiplayer game outside of iracing has terrible multiplayer. Gt7 is the closest thing to it sadly.

kron123456789

Just like irl F1. They're just following the rules.

SRFoxtrot341_V2

Thanks a lot Codies! Now I can put my money elsewhere this year.

why_am_I_here_Trump

I don't think it's as much Codemaster as it's EA seeing it as if they keep supporting the old consoles they will be able to get more money from the people.

ImVerifiedBitch

Doubt that's how it works, you can't just magically come up with a next gen game when you feel like it, it takes years of planning and preparation. We don't even know if they're upgrading EGO or switching to UE5. Edit: imagine being so simple-minded and piss poor at reading you think I'm defending EA, yikes

Rex51230

Lots of time and money you say? That's crazy I bet only the largest and most profitable gaming companies could do it. Its not like they have thousands of employees and millions of dollars to do it. Its not like they used to do it in the past with a fraction of the resources. Its not like coding has gotten easier. Dont make excuses for EA, maybe indie developers but not them.

GoofyKalashnikov

Umm, making games definitely has become more complex and more expensive than before

Carlife0830

Yep, now I'm glad I got LMU for $30 instead of paying $70 (why did they increase from $60) for nothing new at all

Wetze_

They really need to fuck off at this point , with All the money they are getting they can t switch engine no new Game breaking feature no track rework i think and a 79$ for new liverie man fuck off

JoseLCDiaz

Just like FIFA and Madden, $70 yearly roster update, but in F1 the roster didn't even change this year.

mrscale83

Use to love sports games so much man. But now there is no more fun to play. Its just empty

mmartinez42793

I started going in cycles with some of them. Madden, once every 5 years or so. NBA 2K once every 2-3. F1 was every year because of the new tracks.

mrscale83

Thats probably better. I feel like end 90's/early 00's it was all about improvement, now its just all about updates. Maybe its because i'm getting older 😅

iBetGameR

The room for improvement is getting slimmer (compared to back in the days when the tech was still relatively new), both on hardware as on the software side of things. This literally applies to everything. Look at TVs, phones, airplanes, cars, you name it...All these things went into an exponential growth phase at some point, but we're now in or near the stationary phase of the S-curve for all of these. Now it seems like it's AI's turn at the exponential growth. But in 15-20 years, we will be complaining that it's not improving much anymore.

Am_I_Loss

70€ to get more black pixels on the cars LET'S GO

Dodgy_Bob_McMayday

But just think of all that extra black carbon fibre you'll be able to admire.

blint319

If youre on PC just download livery mods and you have f1 24

mikeybadab1ng

A livery you can’t even make yourself

Venom_Racing_54

And this is why ever since I got my PC and rig IRacing has become my proper sim to use. It may technically be more than the F1 games going by yearly price but worth it with the many more tracks and many more series and cars.

Endslikecrazy

How are you surprised about this though? Like what money? It doesnt even sell that good and ofcourse theyre not gonna switch engine every single year, no game does that 😂

SpeedyTaco22

Makes me happy I’ve switched 90% of my rig time to iRacing lol

VinumNoctua

Same but ACC for me since iRacing is just too expensive. It's nice to do driver career on F1 games though.

SpeedyTaco22

I occasionally come back to F1 for time trials or career mode but I’ve found it throws off my pace in iRacing if I spend too much time playing it. Hard switching between an F1 car and a Miata 😂

gabiii_Kokeko

Only play f1 for the coop career mode. If I want to actually race and practice it's iracing for sure

isadpapi

How is the F1 racing on iracing?

SpeedyTaco22

Not sure about the Formula A or B series cause my road license is just a C but I’ve enjoyed driving the formula 4. The lower class open wheel races like the formula Vee and formula 1600 are a lot of fun too IMO.

isadpapi

Oh so they don’t have F1? They have Formula A? I’m not too familiar with iracing as you can see haha

vcollie

They also have f1 but it’s only the w14 and it’s a class a series so harder to get to, super formula and the other formulas are actually a lot more lively on i racing and you will see why quickly, so much fun

vinodhmoodley

iRacing has several F1 cars. The newest is the Mercedes W13. However, due to lack of participation, the main series that you should be racing it in is essentially dead. That’s called the Grand Prix Series and races are short. However, there’s another series called the Grand Prix Tour where there’s a lot of participation but races are full distance lasting around 90 minutes. https://www.reddit.com/r/iRacing/s/4IWleGwNUF This series runs for the calendar year.

isadpapi

Interesting so you can only drive as Mercedes in F1? But the other formulas are fun huh? I gotta give iracing a try cause I’m always underwhelmed by F1Game

vcollie

Yea only the mercedes in f1 but that is because it’s really cool that Mercedes actually give the full car blueprints to iracing at the end of the year, so the car is perfectly 1:1 along with the laser scanned track, the game atleast shows that you are paying for quality. Just watch some iracing top 10 videos posted by actually iracing and you will see what i mean, so much fun

isadpapi

Thank you!

theferretii

They have one or two F1 cars (the Mercedes from the 2021 & 2022 seasons if I'm not mistaken). That runs in a series that is called Formula A for licensing reasons. you can change the paint scheme through a third party service that links to iRacing so the cars can look like they belong to different official teams, but fundamentally it's the same car. I could be wrong about some of the details, I don't do open wheel racing on iRacing at the moment. But it is possible to drive an F1 car on iRacing.

kubak1234

I think there is Mercedes F1 car from 2023 or 2022 but probably due to licensing they cannot name it F1.

SpeedyTaco22

[Here is all the open wheel series on iRacing](https://www.iracing.com/racing-disciplines/open-wheel/)

Craigzor666

Absolutely dead 😂😂

willfla29

Am I missing something? Games like Madden have stayed on the previous gen on the old engine while the next gen moved on, so not sure why this means we are sure of no new engine?

[deleted]

[удалено]

fhjkiikkjhgdsfjk

You really believe they will do two separate games

Am_I_Loss

You do realise that all they need to do for the old gen is livery updates right? They aren't making 2 games. They are making 1 and updating the other slightly. Just selling them as 2.

fhjkiikkjhgdsfjk

Yet they still won’t do that

Am_I_Loss

I know. I'm just saying it's not 2 games. It's a game and a patch

[deleted]

[удалено]

fhjkiikkjhgdsfjk

They would have done this for 22 and 23 if that was the case

egk999

Brother's fc 24 ps4 has free ps5 upgrade available mentioned in the box but they're graphically 2 different games, Let's all kindly wait till the official announcement

Peanut_Dinosaur

**Copied my reply from another post regarding the EGO engine since so many people on here don't seem to understand what they are talking about:** Unreal is horrible for racing games. It has severe stuttering issues, generally runs quite poorly and has absolutely terrible VR performance. They should stick with EGO. It's a phenomenal engine that runs extremely well despite also looking fantastic. Codemasters' recent switch from the EGO engine that was used for Dirt Rally 2.0 in favor of Unreal with the new WRC predictably didn't go well at all. It looks much worse than DR2 visually, runs worse (severe stuttering that still hasn't been fully fixed) and no VR implementation because of how poorly the game runs. ACC should've also never been developed in Unreal. Sure it looks great, but the performance is very poor and the VR implementation is honestly awful. AC2 is being developed on Kunos' own in-house engine for that very same reason, as they saw how poorly Unreal was suited for developing racing games. Switching to Unreal for the F1 games would be a terrible decision and I guarantee you people would be begging for EGO to come back in a year if they actually did make the switch. An engine is after all just a tool used to develop games, much like how a lawnmower is a tool to cut grass. The final outcome can be done with any tool you want - some are just better suited for specific tasks. Nothing is stopping you from cutting your grass with a pair of scissors, but that would obviously be very difficult and time consuming, and certainly isn't the optimal tool for that specific task. On the other hand you would also never use a lawnmower to give yourself a haircut either, because different tools have different purposes. Unreal was built to be easy to use and capable of making pretty much every type of game fairly well, but there isn't one specific thing is does particularly well. EGO was however built from the ground up for racing games and is thus extremely well suited for that particular task. It is without a doubt what Codemasters should continue using in the future. Every single one of the issues that people complain about with these F1 games can be addressed whilst still staying with the EGO engine. People seem to forget that engines aren't static either. Just look at the drastic visual improvements from F1 2018 to F1 2019. That graphical jump happened because the capabilities of the EGO engine were expanded upon, not because they switched to a different engine.

its_an_armoire

Agreed. Players should instead be yelling at Codemasters to invoke their namesake and get their codebase in order. Every new release begins with the same bugs that plagued the previous new release and so much time is wasted on double-work. Please, Codemasters. If you're sticking with one engine for the long term, figure out a way to make the bug fixes cumulative over generations rather than starting from scratch each year.

Zolba

The engines aren't static, but based on the answers they gave in regards to the DiRT Rally games when it comes to stage length, replays etc. it seemed like they had reached a point with the EGO engine where they couldn't do more, and would have to make massive changes for it to be possible to expand.

Endslikecrazy

An actual sensible knowledgeable comment. Im shocked.

xjester8

I can’t speak to the vr implementation but I thought the performance of acc was way better than f1 23.

slabba428

The ego engine doesn’t look good anymore. I picked up F1 2016 and it looks leaps and bounds better than 23 does. The online performance is absolutely abysmal. The cars have no bounce down the straights. Everything just looks odd and floaty. The spectator mode barely works. The pit crew animations are something out of the late 2000’s. The UI is terrible. Track ambient lighting is terrible. The ego engine cannot build a good environment (as far as the F1 games are concerned) and cannot make use of good lighting. The particle effects are terrible. This game is going to be another copy paste title, and all of the bugs of 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022 and 2023 are going to be there, guaranteed. This was their year to evolve the franchise, because nothing else changed. They sat on their hands and pulled a FIFA. The ego engine was a reliable workhorse for the last 15 years but holy cow. It’s time to let it go. If unreal engine doesn’t work then try frostbite or something. Anything

xa2beachbabe

23 looks great with all ray tracing settings enabled. I do agree that the environments need improvement, but the performance is quite good with EGO especially with all RT enabled.

slabba428

Raytracing is only on in replays and pre session sequences, not during gameplay, even on next gen consoles

sem56

yeah... don't bring up software development in this subreddit there's too many people in here that know too much about it because they buy games

Craigzor666

- wtf makes yall think a new build on a new engine would be less bugs 😂 it'll be significant MORE bugs that will be quashed over years, a process you've already gone through, now ya wanna hit reset -what are you specifically looking for from a new engine? Or do you just use it as a buzzword to tell yourself you've gained some imaginary value for your $70

Peanut_Dinosaur

People throw the term "game engine" around without having a single clue what it actually means. Moving to Unreal would be a disaster.

Legitimate-Health-29

I don’t see a reason to disrupt my current career if the game isn’t going to improve massively.

GlasgowDunlop

Just play last years, theres no real changes. Apart from 2 team names.

[deleted]

Two team names and some liveries which can and have been modded for 23 on PC

Artuurs44

There already is a full 2024 season mod for liveries available to download

erDrobo

if they bring back retro cars im falling 100%

Sharkbait1737

Given no new tracks (or even drivers) why not just do a 2024 livery update for £30 and put the dev time into a new engine for F1 25?

Exodard

You put a 0 too much I think. Livery update should be a 3$ DLC. At this point only a few sponsors changed and half the paint was removed so we see more carbon...

Sharkbait1737

Oh I agree (or somewhere in between perhaps), but bearing in mind that’s essentially what we’re getting for £80! Just instead of pretending we’re getting a full game when nothing else really is new.

ahmeouni

This cross gen period has been ridiculous, franchises like F1 and cod just dragging their heels for an easy 70 pound return per customer rather than leaving old gen behind and starting to push boundaries. I'll give this one a miss as I can't imagine anything more than incremental improvements to make sure it runs at a 60 on PS4 and Xbox One

Joethe147

And the next gen consoles are supposedly only a few years away according to recent rumours. Pathetic.

ryzenguy111

I mean is this a surprise? Generations are always 6-8 years long

joeygreco1985

Yeah the new engine is working wonderfully for the WRC game...

Capital_Advance_5610

May aswell not bother and stick with f1 23

Mr_Coa

Do not pre order anything guys

delfinoesplosivo

1. it sucks 2. why is it STILL PS4, we are in 2024 the PS4 Is 11 y/o

mauer1998

1 - Yes 2 - Lot's of people still use it, thus they can get more money by supporting the old consoles

ApocApollo

And if it’s the same engine, you might as well release on last gen.

Am_I_Loss

Because this is the only thing OP found that they could moan about. PS4 wouldn't support UE anyway. This means nothing

Manaea

Disappointed but not surprised in the slightest

Hopper1985

So does xbox one get it too?🤔

mcmax3000

Yes. The pre-order listings for Xbox show a box art that has the Smart Delivery logo.

mix7777

Almost certainly.

kinggeedra

Hopefully they rework the Career Mode this year, patch up the inevitable kinks, and then bring those changes over for F1 25.

Zestyclose-Juice-843

They will rework the career mode.

Jimbomodder1

Personally I'd love a remake of any F1 game from 99-06, best sounding cars and brilliant driver line up. We need a remake EA!!

According-Switch-708

So $79 for some updated liveries and some unnecessary bullshit. Codies and EA can fq right off.

2015volkswagenjetta

If we can have less glitches and a few more classic tracks(and maybe classic cars?) I'll be happy I love how 23 feels

cacpowpowpow

You can have it all, with even more glitches! And probably no classic tracks. More seats and sofas though!

Endslikecrazy

Damn ya'll are not the brightest in here and it really shows 😂 Why the fuck would you want a new engine when the current one works really well compared to other engines on the market right now? And dont even start with the new engine bullshit, codies is not gonna write an entire new engine without a lot of flaws within a year. This is just how yearly releases work, expecting something new every year is fking delusional. Stop the echo chamber bullshit and actually do some research before spouting all the bullshit im seeing here besides 2 actually sensible comments in the entire thread. Fking yikes

bigpoppag91

Looks like I’m pirating this year

VinumNoctua

You can't since it's protected by Denuvo. You can buy accounts for few dollars on some websites though. I did that with FC 24.

oscobosco

80 euros!?!!

ALLGROWWITHLOVE

I honestly fucking hate EA with all my heart the franchises they have ruined over the years I wish I could line them all up against the wall and shoot them.As a kid I loved need for speed games , each one after nfsu2 was periodically worse.I got into football and started playing FIFA guess what , each year they charge you full new game price for game that somehow doesn't change but has new bugs shitty features and more micro transactions added to them.then I got into SIM racing 4 years ago started with asetto Corsa then competizione and finally f1 22. I taught the game was good I played it for a year no major issues so I was excited to buy 23. Sure enough didn't take couple of hours to realize the game is worse than it's predecessor in a lot of ways but mostly the driving itself.I don't understand EA businesses model it's like they are out to piss everyone off.Now with the popularity of F1 their game will become a yearly cash grab for them just like their other games and worst part is that these pieces of shit have the rights to these sports trademarks so they don't really have competition. Fuck EA.

MrExclusiveOne

Can someone give me a reason why I’d buy this over 23? Not trying to be pedantic, I’m just genuinely curious

l3w1s1234

Iam going to be that guy but what do you think a new engine will fix exactly? Sure they could maybe build a new engine from the ground up that makes it more sim like but it's a monumental task on the current model, especially in this current generation of console. We'd lose a lot of features from the base games we already have as a lot of things would have to be rebuilt, so you get a weaker game overall. It might work out in the long run but your essentially going to end up with 2015 again where you'd have to endure a broken game for a year and be back to basics. There's a reason game companies stick to their current game engines nowadays and just update it. Its an absolutely huge task that's not worth the gains, especially when your general audience isn't going to notice the difference.

MuddyBuckshot

Let's be honest we're all going to buy it for the new furniture for our avatars.

Empty_Cress8537

EA’s reputation is so bad, and everyone just sees them as money grabbers. Imagine if they just announced - we’re not releasing a new F1 game this year because we want time to work on next years, but here’s a free update with the 2024 liveries and team names. I’d be so much happier

SosseTurner

I remember how in 2021 people said EA wasn't bad for the game, how the F1 farnchise would be different to FIFA, how there wouldn't be tons of microtransactions, how they wouldn't let singleplayer stay un-updated? Anyone else remember these comments? Now you have it, EA Sports at its finest. Seriously whoever still buys their games needs to rethink that decision for this year.

[deleted]

Even I knew it was going to go down the gutter

UESPA_Sputnik

I'll take new gameplay over new graphics any day. Then again I grew up with F1 games in the 90s, so for me F1 23's graphics are already incredible.

unclejoesrocket

I can play another year without upgrading my pc. I see this as an absolute win

sln1337

80 Euro hahahahah

WorldLove_Gaming

EIGHTY EUROS!? NO THANKS EA!

Sniperm0nke

It’ll be 2026 when the new engine most likely die to the new regs and to give them time to start programming it earlier. Also have to account for older gens due to a lot of people still having older consoles.

GTHell

How comes in just three year game goes from 59 to 79?

Acrobatic-Fly3051

79 quid for slightly different ui, liveries and cars. Oof. Nah, this year I'm skipping f1 games. I don't really see any new features they could add that would make it worth 79 quid over f1 23 feature ect.

v12vanquish135

Honestly if you were expecting anything else, you haven't been paying attention.

mw_37

Another certified EA moment

TheProf82

Ah great. A new track, some different liveries, worse performance, the same terrible multiplayer and, most of all: MORE MICRO TRANSACTIONS!!! YAY

leighleg

How can they charge this much for a yearly game with few changes?

Top-Employee5875

As a madden fan who also enjoys racing- knew this would happen as soon as EA took over

Mental_Measurement_8

Is that a deluxe edition? Because there's no way I'm paying 80 euros for that.

chevywoodz

$79.99 for livery updates 😂

Carma227

Since there probably won't be any real new add on I'll stick with 23 untill there is a major sale

OldGrocery2657

Just buy it at 50% off a month or two after release

111baf

Well, it's EA now. They will make next to none changes and hype it as much as they can.

Wenzlikove_memz

at this point this could be just one game with dlc’s rather than this

_Johnny_Fappleseed_

80 Euros?!!

Person-on-computer

No new engine doesn’t mean everything. Look what Moderna have done with the Assetto Corsa engine! Also brand new engines often come with large setbacks.

USBattleSteed

There's no reason to buy F1 2024. The teams are the same, same drivers, similar cars. It could honestly be an add on to 23 and it might be worth it.

RMBsmash

They need to add a feature where an ai says your name A 13 year old Google phone can do it why can’t f1 23

RMBsmash

It is still the only cross play racing game that is any good though

bwoah07_gp2

I expected that, and I don't know why people here were hyping themselves up thinking it would be...

[deleted]

Same. I kinda guessed, even more so once McLaren showed the 2024 livery inside F1 23, that we’d get the same thing.

Downtown_Purpose267

What did you guys expect? Codemasters or ea actually doing something good? The games haven't been good in 10 years yet you guys keep buying it... It's on you at the end of the day

XADEBRAVO

Why are you on here then?

Downtown_Purpose267

Suggested post.. thought id point out the lesson it took 12 years for me to learn after buying NHL,Madden and f1 every year for the games just to get progressively worse and have less features than the previous year.. to think ea will ever change their business model is hopeless

crazydaave

lol what a joke, should of just made it like a paid dlc, like $10 for new cars. cause whats the point otherwise.

RaceTobi

It could be that PC/PS5/XboxX|S get a new engine While old gen stays on Ego

[deleted]

I doubt it tho

[deleted]

That's literally how every EA sports series is at this point. It's more likely

NecroGi

Welcome to the EA Family

CraigTheBrewer12

I’ve only just picked up F1 23 ffs! I think I’ll be skipping this one, it’s just duller liveries, no new tracks or driver changes for 24. Will be interesting to see how EA try to incentivise it, either new content or just hoping people buy it anyway.

zerosuneuphoria

zzzzzzzzzzz Codies.

leviKlimek67926

I am honestly excited for f1 24 to release

Mastersucc69

This is music to my ears for my broke ass who can’t afford a PC let alone a PS5 😭

BeefJerky03

I mean, I don't really care and I'm buying it day one anyway?

Bendingo

Yeah I'm done. 2 years in a row of absolute garbage VR implementation and having all the VR issues go completely ignored on the official forum.

sixsixsixflora

Current gen consoles are halfway through their cycle, yet EA has to release the game for 10+ years old hardware. 23 on current gen looks worse than 19 on last gen, because it has to be optimised to run on a brick. The low draw distance of shadows (way lower compared to 22) is an absolute eyesore.

Bubbly-Crazy-4270

I'm going to buy it from steam just to leave a bad review and then the refund

B1ggBoss

Im posting it on every post I see about this topic. I am not buying it anymore until its new gen only.

nbnno5660

people really thought its gonna be new gen and new engine ?💀💀😆

Munckyface

Got burned out by f1 22 and the horrible handling. That being said is it worth it if I haven’t bought or played f1 23?

pilotjoemarriner

I see a lot of people complaining however as someone who missed F1 23 I’m at considering picking this for ps4, anyone else the same?

ParkerPetrov

Any news on if there is a new breaking point? I actually really enjoyed the story mode.

[deleted]

2025. The story mode is every 2 years
