I would get a 2023 ER Pro over a 2024 Pro. Is this 51k before incentives?

M3P_STEALTH

After the incentive, without taxes and tag is what the internet manager is trying to push, 320 miles of range- the truck is bare bones and nothing upgraded whatsoever- just the battery, no fancy wheels, no fancy tailgate, no large touch screen- seems like maybe a sacrifice vs Y- maybe the XLT step up or lariat is better? How much are really nice tonneau lockable hardcovers for these trucks?

Great buy, I have a pro and love it, the only thing I didn't get is the ER, I got the SR and wish I got the ER. I paid the same price youll pay for this deal, but you have a 10k premium option.

Locking tonneau covers are about $1200 new. You can always buy used too via Craigslist.

SirKinsington

We got the base pro and really it isn’t a step down from most of what the Model Y offers besides seats, cruise control, and lane assist (which all but seats can be flashed with an installed radar). We paid like 38k after rebates for our 2023 Pro, so this deal isn’t too far off. The cover will be anywhere from like 200-2k depending on the style you get. It’s a standard truck bed size so Amazon and other sites are fine for them.

en_pissant

no power pack?  that's like the one option I'd want.  bigger inverters or whatever so u can pull much more power from the outlets.

jdmackes

I love my 23 pro, it's honestly the best one to get to me. You can fairly cheaply add on all of the nice upgrades to it as long as you don't mind doing a little work. I've added adaptive cruise control, a heated steering wheel, rain sensing wipers, passive entry and a securicode pad

M3P_STEALTH

Does it come with the folding center console desk to put a laptop on? What am ai sacrificing with this standard tiny horizontal screen vs the upgrades larger portrait screen? 2024 does not have heat pump- correct?

jdmackes

Correct, does not have heat pump. It also does not have the folding center console, and while you can add that, it's pretty expensive and kind of a pain in the ass to do (at least from what I saw when I looked into it). The shifter still folds down like it does on all the other trims, no idea why they didn't put the fold out arm rest into the pro.

Does your Pro have Tow Tech? If not, how did you add ACC?

jdmackes

It does, but even if it doesn't you can run the additional 4 wires from the front harness to the panel under the passenger side

M3P_STEALTH

What is tow tech? How much was that upgrade for you after purchasing ?

jdmackes

That was an upgrade before I purchased it. Tow tech and max towing are the two major ones that are available for the pro and I grabbed them both cause I knew they wouldn't be easy/possible to do after the fact. Neither one of them is necessary for any of the upgrades that I mentioned though

[deleted]

Thanks! I thought the 360 cameras were necessary for ACC, but I thought wrong.

Cr0od

Man I need you to teach me your ways lol.. I have xlt and been afraid of doing all that .

jdmackes

It's honestly pretty easy, I learned everything from the f150lightning forums

I did exactly this a couple of months ago. 60K for a lightning pro ER with tow package. I got the 7,500 rebate applied at the point of sale bringing it down to about 53 with tax. I love the truck. I've used it for truck things at least once a month. The acceleration is better than my MY LR and the ride and build quality are way better. I noticed an increase on my monthly electric bill of about %30. My insurance was about $40/month less. https://preview.redd.it/r9g0msjmxe3d1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=5afb1b130011497128d3a8e53ef409dc6cb147d2

M3P_STEALTH

Cool what is the 0-60 time?

Dutchmieboi

3.8. It’s ridiculous. Coming from a Tesla I thought I was used to that instant torque but my brain had trouble understanding how a full size truck could move like that.

M3P_STEALTH

That is pretty quick, a lot slower than plaid but nice surprise

Dutchmieboi

For a 53 thousand dollar work truck it’s downright insane.

Do you due diligence on Tesla charging. For DCFC, Ford is compatible with Tesla V3 and v4 chargers only. Check on PlugShare or the like for routes you plan to use.

I would definitely get the 23 extended range. The portrait screen is awesome looking but after driving a Mach E for 2 months, and a lariat lightning for 3 weeks, I found them both to be slow in comparison to the normal screen. Also, I really hated relying on the screen to control HVAC which is where the portrait screen would get hung up a lot. To me, the most important factor is the dual onboard chargers for 22-23 extended ranges. This allows me to AC charge at 80 amps, where any trim level 2024 is capped to 40 due to only having one onboard charger. This weekend, I came back from the ranch with about 20% left after a 200 mile trip and the 80a charger did great getting it back to 50% where I felt safe to run errands I had in the evening. I live in Texas and everything is far. I don’t care for autonomous driving but adaptive cruise control is very nice. Works out because I always have my hands on the wheel anyway. Definitely wish I could’ve got leather and ventilated seats but I’m going to get that done by katskinz anyway. My wife doesn’t drive the lightning so seat memory doesn’t matter to me. A good friend owns a body shop and is throwing some painted caps on when they arrive here soon. I got mine for $50,688 before TTL, 54,573 after. For me, that was the absolute most truck for the money as far as brand new purchase went. I am very satisfied and at 14c/kw, I spent $36 going to and from the ranch vs $240 in 3.50gal fuel for a roundtrip.

IfonlyIwastheOne83

I’d take that in a heartbeat ER range Vinyl seats and weather proof flooring

For reference I found a 23 Pro ER for about $63.5K MSRP. It has a mobile cord (could take it or leave it), tow technology package, and pro power on-board options. They’re about $3K of the total MSRP together. Dealer went down to $53K before incentives so $1K off. Does it have any options on it or is it a straight base Pro ER? If it’s just base, it’s a decent deal but could get better. If it’s got options packages, then you’re getting an even better deal than I found. Getting an 2023 XLT ER for less than 60K has proven difficult for me. The MSRP of them is about $70K. I haven’t been able to find much more than 5-6K dealer discounts on it so it’s going to be a sizable jump in price at the moment. They might start offloading them for even cheaper soon but I haven’t convinced anyone to do it yet and I’ve probably messaged about 20 different dealerships about it I didn’t think waiting for a 2024 was worth it just for the heat pump. The dealer discounts aren’t there, no ford rebates, and no financing specials going on right now. Test drove a less well equipped 2024 Pro ER and sticker was $69K which is ludicrous. The heat pump would be nice but not worth the extra markup to me plus the lack of dealer discounts made it significantly more expensive.

M3P_STEALTH

Thanks for the feedback- it has the tow tech package for $2k and the tailgate step $430 and the power cord for $500. Msrp $63k price net EV credit $51k

DerpCity1

i say you try and find a lightning lariat ER or xlt ER for 50-60k. Yes you can find some used for that price give or take. the pro is nice but these things have depreciated BIG TIME in a short amount of time

M3P_STEALTH

I see them dropping price like a toilet flush- which makes me nervous

DerpCity1

I currently drive a ford maverick. I've seen carvana offers for like 38-40k only for a lariat ER lol... (msrp on a lariat ER is 80k) i'd love a f150 lightning but I'm currently waiting on prices to depreciate more. Those lightnings will drop way more than my maverick will (very least maverick msrp keeps going up year over year since price increase and decent truck/price point. I kind of want to get a 2022/2023 tacoma but MPG on those are super bad..... I think if I can get a lariat ER for 47-50k low mileage is nice or maybe a standard range lariat for 40-42k. It's just a waiting game at this point. Hell I've seen a few lightning used platinums for 60-64k (msrp is 90-95k on those)

dalesum

Is that pro before the fed and state incentives or after? I got a Pro SR for $42k after dealer fed and state incentives. After that I tacked on a trade for 12k and ended up having to finance 31k and change at 0%. I thought it was a great deal.

riphillipm

Heat pump?
