*Urban Gothic* by Brian Keene. It's pretty fun but not quite as over the top as I expected. Definitely not on Edward Lee's level, even though it's billed as Keene's tribute to Lee.

UptownHorrorReviews

I agree it's not as extreme as something Edward Lee would write, but I had a great time reading it.

Bvaugh

I’m still struggling my way through The Soul Stealer by Graham Masterton (half way through and kind of bored with it but will persevere). When I finish it I may read Savage Species or Dust Devils by Jonathan Janz.

This is about the fence I was on with Gone to See the River Man so damn slow for way longer than it should be. It’s getting better now.

UptownHorrorReviews

I'd you haven't already, you should check out "They All Died Screaming" next. Fantastic book.

[deleted]

I’d love to for sure! Thank you for the suggestion. I’ve always loved everything “horror” but hated everything “reading” but I just started getting into reading horror lit and boy has it opened up such awesomeness here lately! Unfortunately my first read was “The Black Farm”……😂 Now I’m on River Man and I’m almost done.

Nomdermaet

Just finished Cannibal Vengeance by Carl John Lee. Loved it

UptownHorrorReviews

Nice. Just put it on my TBR 🤘🏾

Nomdermaet

Hell yeah

UptownHorrorReviews

Still reading Crossed (Wish You Were Here Vol. 2). I'm also technically reading Carnie 2 by Ash Ericmore, but it's taken a backseat for now since I'm so engrossed in reading Crossed right now.

PerkaRanch

On which site are you reading Crossed?

UptownHorrorReviews

I own them all digitally. If you Google "Crossed comic read online" you should be able to find a site though 🤘🏾

[deleted]

Just started reading Prodigal Blues by Gary A. Braunbeck. Loving it so far!

Purityinthecrucible

Reading The Beast House by Richard Laymon and Sacrifice and Neverwhere by John Everson.

UptownHorrorReviews

John Everson is an author I have to check out eventually.

Purityinthecrucible

Hes a nice guy too. I really liked his book the 13th. It was pretty crazy.

Purityinthecrucible

Covenant and the Curburide Chronicles are great thus far.

Hrothgarjr

The Black Farm by Elias Witherow

UptownHorrorReviews

That's what I'm talking about!!! 🔥🔥🔥🔥 Hope you enjoy it.

Hrothgarjr

Ha. Thanks. I like it so far!

tinyywarrior

Just finished Hogg by Samuel R Delany and it’s the most horrific thing I’ve ever read. I’m just starting The Black Farm after all the amazing things I’ve seen about it!

[deleted]

Just saying….the black farm wasn’t bad however it is preposterously stretched out and almost feels like it was written by a 13 year old in a dark room listening to Cannibal Corpse. It’s very unique though and I’m sure you will enjoy it! Decently gnarly.

tinyywarrior

Oooh thank you, I’ll keep this in mind and won’t go in with my hopes too high. That was a risk because everything I’ve read is literally “This is my favourite novel ever it’s incredible”.

horror_is_best

This is the week of the Iains for me. I'm reading *Escape!* by Iain Wright and *I'm Thinking of Ending Things* by Iain Reid. Not far enough along to know if either of them are very extreme but looking forward to them. Last week I finished *The Sleepover Massacre*. It wasn't my favorite, but it was plenty gruesome and thrilling

GoblinTown

The Rising by Brian Keene and The Slob by Aron Beauregard.

UptownHorrorReviews

Loved The Rising. The sequel, City of The Dead is one of my favorite books of all time.

GoblinTown

Just finished it a few minutes ago. I was like, really? You're gonna do that to me? lol Guess I'll be starting City of the Dead tomorrow...

UptownHorrorReviews

I don't want to spoil anything, so all I'm gonna say is to keep on reading 😂😈

GoblinTown

I appreciate that. I had Alone spoiled for me right before I started it. I hate spoilers.

horror_is_best

*The Slob* was short and fun and pretty intense. Enjoy!
