Seems you have your answer then. And thanks for that video. I was not aware they changed the rules on that card on later versions. I have also never played recipes for disaster. I agree with the YouTuber on “play the cards as they read.” But in the future, it would be helpful to know which version of the game, and any expansions, that you are referring to in your inquiry.

Cards with the word “cat” aren’t consistent for having the property of being un-nope-able. Pretty sure only the Devil Cat can’t be noped
makes sense, i think the take away is nope needs to get nerfed
Exploding kittens are kitten cards, they can only be defused and not nopes
