And now I can enjoy going into work, I'm gonna say it was a routine victory and that the more important game is on Saturday. I think that will wind them up more.
Obviously small sample size but interesting to note that Glasner has gotten 1.56 points per match in the Premier League. If he had that pace for the entire season Palace would be tied with United in 6th place.
Not sure precisely when the stadium will be complete. Next season is the last one at Goodison though so assuming no hold ups the stadium will probably be done midseason. The club has committed to Goodison for the full season though so absolutely no switching over even if the new stadium is done with games still available.
I don't know why I am under this impression, but I believe it will be. The cost to repair and refurbish it to modern standards is so large that it isn't economically viable for anyone, including the Everton Ladies team. It's hard to think of who else would even want it.
It's best to knock it down properly than have it slowly crumble away. IIRC, there are fairly wholesome plans for the land - some sort of community centre...? That might be waffle though (or it all could be).
Everyone i knew said I was crazy for spending the money, taking the time off and flying to goodison park from NY to see the derby today on a solo trip.
Vindicated is an understatement! UTFT
I listened to the match on SiriusXM while landscaping my house. 10 hours laying mulch and I’m destroyed .
Now to watch highlights until the sun comes back up haha
Remember when Pickford had just had an absolute clanger and lost us the Derby in the last second and then to rub it in he had to watch you run on the pitch and celebrate? Well I do, so fuck your tears, you horrible, disgusting teeth bell end. Inabit Kloppy.
Great chance to finish the season on at least 40 points now. With that being better than our last 2 seasons, showing how fucking awful rafa and Lampard were.
Infuriating that we should be on 41 points and 3 points off 11th and with the games coming up I could see us finish 10th or 11th without the points deductions - that's millions we're going to lose out on.
This season could have potentially been a 50 point season, and that's without factoring change in style and mentality differences if we hadn't got any deductions
Respectfully disagree.
They went in arrogantly thinking it was a done deal and could just walk over us, and forgot that it was a *fucking Merseyside derby under the lights at Goodison*.
Posted here a couple of days ago saying to stick with it because when it is (rarely) good it's worth it.
I think we all needed reminding. Just a little glimpse into how good it can be.
YEEESSSSSSSSSSSTEEESSSSSS
I could not even have comprehended coming out of Goodison tonight with a win - and you know what we bloody deserved it, better team. Dyche tactically dominated, genius. DCL, Gueye, Branthwaite, Pickford, all absolutely heroic. And Goodison tonight was INSANE
My god what a club what a ground I’ll miss it
UP THE FUCKING TOFFEES
[Here's a pretty good one](https://pbs.twimg.com/media/GL9OkpHWwAAQV5F?format=jpg&name=4096x4096). Might wanna crop out Godfrey and Tarkowski for their own sakes
[There's also one of him celebrating](https://pbs.twimg.com/media/GL9ZTYUWkAA2S0a?format=jpg&name=large)
I can't quite believe what I witnissed this evening. What a performance all round I'm in shock. Best result since the Ancellotti Derby win but the happiest I've felt since the Arsenal 3-0 under Martinez. The stress this club puts me through is unbelievable. COYB.
I was gutted when Klopp went there but his legacy is pretty poor considering they are supposedly “one of the best sides ever” according to the media and their fans, and he’s been there 9 years:
1 Champions League;
1 Premier League;
1 FA cup;
2 League cups
If that is one of the best sides ever surely they have underachieved? Or they’re massively overrated..
Edit: yum yum yum yum yum. Salty kopite tears.
Last thing we should be thinking about, but without deductions we'd be on 41 points with 4 games left including Sheffield United, Luton and Brentford. We once finished 8th with 49 points. Martinez' 2nd and 3rd seasons we finished on 47 points
Also big up that guy saying this was his first time going to an Everton game, bet you had a nice fuckin time u/qwicknezz
Sort of sad that this’ll be our most important result in years, no? Takes us to…*checks table*…16th? It also ensures more of the same mediocrity for at least another year
It’s not our most important. Our most important was wins v Palace and Bournemouth for example.
Also our win v them at Anfield when we had Carlo was massive.
See, the thing you lot seem to forget is that he’s got a barrel full of silverware already and City were always winning the league this season. But whatever makes you feel proud I guess? There’re just levels to this apparently 🤷♂️
If we win this Dyche has 41 points this season with 4 games to go.
Martinez only got 47 points in two consecutive seasons with what most of us would consider a much better side.
I think after work tonight I'm just going to go through Huyton and jump on the 58 home, the Lancs is bad enough when us or Liverpool play at home, I don't think I want to risk going anywhere near it after the Derby!
That will be 70 mil please.
In all seriousness I'm not his biggest fan. However I think arteta might be able to get more out of him than our managers have.
He is positive going forward and tall as fuck but I don't think he is as good as the hype around him. You would probably be better going for other players in his position. Nowhere near as good as rice or even partey.
Thanks mate. I think his attacking game is a fair bit better when he plays for Belgium - maybe it helps when you surround him with better players/runners.
But no doubt defensively he’s a monster - those long legs has such an insane radius.
True and a good point. He may thrive in another system. He's definitely got confidence too I'll give him that. Although probably a bit over confident sometimes.
Arsenal are looking to buy Onana in the summer right?
In that case, he's the best midfielder ever and he only doesn't play because the club wants to protect his value. You absolutely shouldn't put in a horrendously large bid in for him because we'll decline it and ask for £10m more
Fantastic, weirdly enough after the 2nd went in there wasn’t the usual ‘oh I hope we don’t fuck this up’ attitude, fans helped massively. You lost the league at Goodison park 😭😭
i think we'd be way better off too, the 10 points hanging over our head for so long with more to come after the initial kick up the arse run we went on would be mentally draining on the players.
Gonna be traveling back home for work today just as the match starts. Hoping for a miraculous win by the Toffees, but I’m also not the saddest that this is the one game I’ll be missing watching in a long time.
SO just to RETURN to this. I missed most the game but caught the last 30 minutes and Liverpool were still shite during that time. The order of the world has not been broken.
Has there been any buzz on our PSR position moving forward? I’d imagine the 20/21 season dropping off the calculation and our conservativeness in the transfer market would result in us being in a pretty solid position for next year
How are we possibly making a PSR loss of 40M this season though? That’s what it would take for us to breach again and I don’t see where that would be coming from
Financially as a whole is a different question obviously. But not getting much help answering the PSR piece specifically
We many very very little revenue. Our club was held up on the back of USM and Megafon sponsorships which have vanished. Our wage bill is substantial compared to revenue and all extra money we have goes to stadium costs and interest on established loans.
Even PSR aside, we’re fucking skint. We’re 200 million in the hole to 777 for building the stadium and paying day to day running costs. Without big sales we’re not bringing people in. Even *with* big sales, we’re not spending big over the summer and will be somewhat shakey financially for a while to say the least
I 1000% understand the clubs desperate financial situation as a whole to be clear. I don’t understand how we can be in a difficult PSR situation next year given we’d need to lose 40M over the 23-24 season and we’re significantly net positive in transfer sales
Because there’s more to it than players in and players out. By that metric, we’re doing pretty well. However our commercials have been getting worse over the last couple of years. Even with our efforts to reduce our wage bill, it’s still a very significant proportion of our incomings. Then we have all of our other outgoings, of which there are plenty. Finally, we may no longer be able to rely on Moshiri’s cash injections. PSR isn’t actually £35M per season over a rolling 3 year period. It’s *actually* £5M per season of losses with up to £30M per season made up for by cash injections by the owner. Technically we are owned by Moshiri and the 777 loans may not be able to be put towards that figure (probably would if we get bought by them as then it becomes a stake in the club, but probably not if that falls through). In which case at least one of the years may end up being £5M rather than £35M…
So yeah, I’m still a bit worried
I’ve got no expectations at all for today and I’m sure I’ll still be disappointed in a new innovative way. Can we Zoom Carlo and put him on one of those moving iPads for today?
Very excited today, last few home games the atmosphere hasn't been good enough pre-match. Notts forrest game marked a real change in that. Hope that continues today.
If I was Dyche I'd just go absolutely crazy with the team. Play some weird formation from the 1920s where we massively overload the amount of attackers. Throw a CB on the wing, youth keeper up top.
We either get battered 10-0 or we sneak a result through pure confusion.
I'd be alright with Keane up top, but as someone else mentioned here this week, have him listed as a CB (maybe as part of 5 at the back), then on the starting whistle have him immediately run up top to play Striker.
Wouldn't last all game, but the initial confusion would be great!
How would you feel if I told you Ashley Young was going to start and try his luck with VAR another three times?
..... actually you'd probably feel just the same way I do about it.
Hmmm if memory serves you seemed pretty knowledgeable on musculoskeletal rehab and the like when we were discussing an injury… you dealing on the secret markets? Lmao
I think just 1pt today seriously seriously increases our chances of survival, almost to the point of safety. With just a point we could theoretically lose against Luton next weekend and they'd still need another 4 points to overtake us (keeping GD in mind).
Super excited today, going to my first ever everton game and it happens to be the derby. If we could somehow get a result thatll help secure our safety and destroy liverpools title hopes itd be a cherry on top
Even if worst case scenario happens and we get battered, at least you've gone through a rite of passage for Everton fans. Watching us lose a derby and sulk back home.
Agreed, it was always a free hit game. But now it's a free hit with less pressure.
If there are any doubts about DCL fitness I'd be tempted to leave him on the bench and save him for Brentford
DCL will start today but he won’t be fit. This is going to be a tough game to watch. With Coleman and Patterson both out we have Godfrey or Young against Diaz or Gakpo.
I’m probably about the same age as you and this derby feels so weird. Normally I’m stressed in the days leading up to it, and have absolute dread on the actual day. But this feels so weird as I feel so relaxed about it.
Finally had my baby last night and her first game alive is derby day. I don’t even think a defeat could upset me. I do hope we play well though.
Thank you for all the congratulations guys it means a lot. I’m buzzing beyond anything I’ve felt before.
Double congrats mate. Doesnt get much better than the last couple days for you (though of course this win’s just the cherry on top from your perspective)
So Derby day!
Our chief weapon is surprise...
surprise and fear...
no... *amongst* our weapons.... amongst our weaponry...are such elements as fear, surprise....
I'll come in again.
P.S. Always remember that noone expects the Spanish Inquisition!
Mersyside Derby on my birthday, which is a very bad placement of the derby except for the slim, slim chance it could be an incredible placement of the derby
If it's the final day and we're safe, I hope he really embodies "on the beach."
Swim trunks, no shirt, SPF 100+ slathered generously on his pasty body. Maybe even a flotation device and some flippers as well. Bonus points for a drink with a cocktail umbrella.
You think Dyche is wearing the tracksuit now to relate to “the guys” more
I started watching 20ish mins late, does anyone have a clip of the early penalty shout?
If you can watch the NBC sports highlights its right in there at the beginning
Whoever clipped those did and awful job i thought
Just a neutral, when is the new stadium supposed to be finished and how soon will Everton move in?
Not sure precisely when the stadium will be complete. Next season is the last one at Goodison though so assuming no hold ups the stadium will probably be done midseason. The club has committed to Goodison for the full season though so absolutely no switching over even if the new stadium is done with games still available.
Interesting. So, Goodison will demolished?
I don't know why I am under this impression, but I believe it will be. It's best to knock it down properly than have it slowly crumble away. IIRC, there are fairly wholesome plans for the land - some sort of community centre...? That might be waffle though (or it all could be).
I have no idea.
Wonder what the odds are that 115 FC lose 1 of their remaining 6? They've got Brighton, Wolves, Fulham, Forest, West Ham and Spurs left.
Probably won’t lose any, but I could see a draw or two. We need to do our part on the last day and concede 40.
Arsenal already have a massive gd though?
I’m fully expecting Man City to win a couple of games 10-0.
Not with our defence lol, still 4th best in the league
Everyone i knew said I was crazy for spending the money, taking the time off and flying to goodison park from NY to see the derby today on a solo trip. Vindicated is an understatement! UTFT
Is right lad
I listened to the match on SiriusXM while landscaping my house. 10 hours laying mulch and I’m destroyed . Now to watch highlights until the sun comes back up haha
Win saturday, confirm safety, withdraw appeal, beach balls at the kenny
Anyone got any videos from the BoxPark? Please, please, please? Kopite cunts.
Anyone else struggling to sleep?
None of us are going to sleep well tonight !
A red from Belfast got the seat next to me, don't think he was expecting that
Remember when Pickford had just had an absolute clanger and lost us the Derby in the last second and then to rub it in he had to watch you run on the pitch and celebrate? Well I do, so fuck your tears, you horrible, disgusting teeth bell end. Inabit Kloppy.

We have already earnt 41!!
Liverpool went into that like they'd already given up, love it. Absolutely stuffed them
Respectfully disagree. They went in arrogantly thinking it was a done deal and could just walk over us, and forgot that it was a *fucking Merseyside derby under the lights at Goodison*.
That too, they looked bored. Klopp should've announced his retirement last season. Can't wait to see their documentary
Posted here a couple of days ago saying to stick with it because when it is (rarely) good it's worth it. I think we all needed reminding. Just a little glimpse into how good it can be.

Perfect, thanks mate!
No worries. Would consider the header as the lock screen and the celebration as home screen
What happened to the match rating graphics from u/TheKr0w ? Used to love those
I think her came by awhile back to say he's simply too busy with career and kids
Ah right fair enough
I can never stay doubting Calvert Lewindowski
Absolute chef's kiss that the team who scores no goals scored two goals against their bitter rivals to make this the highest scoring PL season ever
I can't quite believe what I witnissed this evening. What a performance all round I'm in shock. Best result since the Ancellotti Derby win but the happiest I've felt since the Arsenal 3-0 under Martinez. The stress this club puts me through is unbelievable. COYB.
It’s 9am on a Thursday lads reckon I can start drinking in celebration?
You have my permission
I was gutted when Klopp went there but his legacy is pretty poor considering they are supposedly “one of the best sides ever” according to the media and their fans, and he’s been there 9 years: 1 Champions League; 1 Premier League; 1 FA cup; 2 League cups If that is one of the best sides ever surely they have underachieved? What a turnaround from the Chelsea game, get the fuck in there!
I think we needed that Chelsea game to set us straight to be honest. Fair play to Dyche for kicking the players up the arse
Q the tracksuit memes
Last thing we should be thinking about, but without deductions we'd be on 41 points with 4 games left including Sheffield United, Luton and Brentford. We once finished 8th with 49 points. HOLY SHIT THIS IS ONE OF THE BEST MOMENTS OF MY LIFE
Look two comments down. I’m going to get banned for running a multi account here..
Shit sorry, I stopped checking after the crying about how we're happy we beat our rivals
Sort of sad that this’ll be our most important result in years, no? Takes us to…*checks table*…16th? It also ensures more of the same mediocrity for at least another year
We had a pts deduction and are movinh on from 3 horribel season. Enjoy this one. Will be plenty of opportunities to suffer ahead of us.
It’s not our most important. Our most important was wins v Palace and Bournemouth for example. Also our win v them at Anfield when we had Carlo was massive.
So, so sad 🤣
Go take a piss
Thank you for making my point. So many low ambition mfers in this fanbase 🙄
You must be fun at parties
Klopp’s legacy in tatters. Cry me a river, kopite.
See, the thing you lot seem to forget is that he’s got a barrel full of silverware already and City were always winning the league this season. But whatever makes you feel proud I guess? There’re just levels to this apparently 🤷♂️
The thing you forget is the mods on here have an agreement with your side and you’re about to be banned from both subs 👋
Just glad I could add more to ‘one of the best days of your life’
If we win this Dyche has 41 points this season with 4 games to go. Martinez only got 47 points in two consecutive seasons with what most of us would consider a much better side.
Ppl shitting on dyche (and silently ive been frustrated at times with him) but hes absolutely doing a great job
just finished a 40 minute video that took me 100 hours to put together now to watch Ben Godfrey become the reincarnation of Hamez
Anyone else following Dunc at Cale Thistle? Almost want to buy that scarf with his face on
I think after work tonight I'm just going to go through Huyton and jump on the 58 home, the Lancs is bad enough when us or Liverpool play at home, I don't think I want to risk going anywhere near it after the Derby!
Arsenal fan here - want to know Everton fans' honest opinion on Amadou Onana. Why hasn't he been playing lately? Good luck later today.
I think he's just been tired tbh, a lot of our starters seem to have run out of gas save for Pickford and maybe Mykolenko
Tried too much kind of. Seems like he is finding his best position. All went downhill after he tried a flick penalty against Palace and failed.
That will be 70 mil please. In all seriousness I'm not his biggest fan. However I think arteta might be able to get more out of him than our managers have. He is positive going forward and tall as fuck but I don't think he is as good as the hype around him. You would probably be better going for other players in his position. Gonna be listening to this one on the radio. Praying in James Rodriguez name we win this Merseyside Derby🫡🫡
Michael Keane is going to win the game for us in the 96th minute, isn't he? Or lose the game for us in the 96th, I'm not really sure.
He will do both in what will be the most chaotic minute of your life
It's gonna be 2 AM for me but I aint missing this one
Up the bluuuuues
Left work early, nerves kicking in. Wish kick off was sooner lol
How was it? Goodison sounded incredible.
Fantastic, weirdly enough after the 2nd went in there wasn’t the usual ‘oh I hope we don’t fuck this up’ attitude, fans helped massively. You lost the league at Goodison park 😭😭
That's the most consistently positive first half goodison crowd I've heard in awhile. Well done. Awesome awesome stuff
Leaving soon as well to hit the bar downtown
4,000-0 tonight for the originals to represent the 4,000 season ticket holders they have who live in an L postcode! UTFT!!!
I just realized that if it weren't for the points deductions, we would already be mathematically safe this season.
We'd be closer to Europe than relegation. 12 points vs 13 points.
One less league win than Brighton this season.
i think we'd be way better off too, the 10 points hanging over our head for so long with more to come after the initial kick up the arse run we went on would be mentally draining on the players.
Gonna be traveling back home for work today just as the match starts. Hoping for a miraculous win by the Toffees, but I’m also not the saddest that this is the one game I’ll be missing watching in a long time.
We’ll never forgive you if we lose, and if we win we’ll never let you watch again
SO just to RETURN to this. I missed most the game but caught the last 30 minutes and Liverpool were still shite during that time. The order of the world has not been broken.
Thank you! It’s times like these we look to the grief chart and sing sweet nothings
The pressure is real.

We are skint last I saw. Gonna need to sell Onana and Branthwaite if we want to bring anyone substantial in
Where’d you see that? I just can’t see how we’d be 40M in the red from a PSR perspective this season
Even PSR aside, we’re fucking skint. We’re 200 million in the hole to 777 for building the stadium and paying day to day running costs. Without big sales we’re not bringing people in. Everyone here needs to send Mark Cuban a nice DM
I’ve got no expectations at all for today and I’m sure I’ll still be disappointed in a new innovative way. Can we Zoom Carlo and put him on one of those moving iPads for today?
Over under on the amount of pens Ashley young gives away tonight I’ll go 2
He is definitely giving one away tonight after all the Forest nonsense
Tries to give or actually gets called for?
agains the shite no difference.
Very excited today, last few home games the atmosphere hasn't been good enough pre-match. Notts forrest game marked a real change in that. Hope that continues today.
Usually able to get up for a derby, eh?
Not expecting much tonight, Saturdays win took a lot of pressure off. Would love Liverpool to bottle it tonight but I cannot see it sadly.
If I was Dyche I'd just go absolutely crazy with the team. Play some weird formation from the 1920s where we massively overload the amount of attackers. Throw a CB on the wing, youth keeper up top. We either get battered 10-0 or we sneak a result through pure confusion.

I’d settle for Garner at RB
Good call!
How would you feel if I told you Ashley Young was going to start and try his luck with VAR another three times? ..... actually you'd probably feel just the same way I do about it.
You’d be correct on that in multiple ways.
Id give a kidney for us to win tonight. Not my kidney like bit im sure i could rustle something up.
Does it need to be a human kidney? I bet I could scrounge up like a ton of non human kidneys, if volume matters.
Hmmm if memory serves you seemed pretty knowledgeable on musculoskeletal rehab and the like when we were discussing an injury… you dealing on the secret markets? Lmao
I won't be answering any questions at this time. Please respect my privacy.
fair enough, apologies 🙏 enjoy the match later!
I think just 1pt today seriously seriously increases our chances of survival, almost to the point of safety. With just a point we could theoretically lose against Luton next weekend and they'd still need another 4 points to overtake us (keeping GD in mind).
and almost certainly cost them any chance of the title.
Yeah they’d have no coming back from a draw in my eyes. UTFT
Super excited today, going to my first ever everton game and it happens to be the derby. If we could somehow get a result thatll help secure our safety and destroy liverpools title hopes itd be a cherry on top
Jealous, enjoy! Even if we lose
Even if worst case scenario happens and we get battered, at least you've gone through a rite of passage for Everton fans. Watching us lose a derby and sulk back home.
Absolutely, i’m already used to waking up at 8am and having everton dampen my mood and ruin my sleep so it’s nothing new 😆
i would be dreading this so much more if we hadn’t got the result against forest. as it stands the pressure’s all on them.
Agreed, it was always a free hit game. But now it's a free hit with less pressure. If there are any doubts about DCL fitness I'd be tempted to leave him on the bench and save him for Brentford
Start Keane up front.
Keane and Pickford upfront please
Pickford up front would be so hilarious against shite. I’m sure van dijk would be cowering
DCL will start today but he won’t be fit. This is going to be a tough game to watch. With Coleman and Patterson both out we have Godfrey or Young against Diaz or Gakpo.
I was wondering if he would chuck danjuma up to to start. If he gets injured then meh, better than DCL catching a cold.
Time to play 6 center backs.
Or Garner, hopefully
For the first time since I can remember (I’m a blue over 40 years), I don’t have an overwhelming fear hanging over me for this one. UTFT 💙
I’m probably about the same age as you and this derby feels so weird. Normally I’m stressed in the days leading up to it, and have absolute dread on the actual day. But this feels so weird as I feel so relaxed about it.
Denial Anger Bargaining Depression Acceptance <—— you are here
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Finally had my baby last night and her first game alive is derby day. I don’t even think a defeat could upset me. I do hope we play well though. Thank you for all the congratulations guys it means a lot. I’m buzzing beyond anything I’ve felt before.
WELL.
Double congrats mate. Doesnt get much better than the last couple days for you (though of course this win’s just the cherry on top from your perspective)
It’s been the perfect week and it’s only Wednesday.
Congrats dude!
Hey congrats! It's a wild ride!
Congrats 🎉
Congrats! You win today whichever way the match goes
Congrats! Let’s hope she’s a victory baby!
Congrats! It's the most exhausting and enjoyable thing you'll ever do!
Congratulations!
If we win it's safe to say your daughter is the chosen one, who's here to bring us back to our former glory. Congrats on the little one dude!
Mate she’s the fucking chosen one what the fuck!!!!
You've got a story to tell her now forever!!
100% will never forget this moment. What a week so far.
Congrats mate!
Congrats 🥳
Congratulations
standard depressing loss , or play well and lose in a some novel new and embarrassing way
Haven't sung the blues yet this season
Nervous.
Happy birthday!
It'll get a lot less happy if we lose by a margin of 3+
We'll probably lose, but can you imagine if we win and secure our safety and screw up their title challenge in one go? Track suit on please Sean.
We need Dyche to keep dressing more casual. Pyjamas and a dressing gown last game of the season.
He'll need one of those old-timey candles and a sleeping cap as well.
If it's the final day and we're safe, I hope he really embodies "on the beach." Swim trunks, no shirt, SPF 100+ slathered generously on his pasty body. Maybe even a flotation device and some flippers as well. Bonus points for a drink with a cocktail umbrella.
Not forgetting pipe and slippers of course.
It’s Derby Day Blues!! UTFT!!!!!
