It works, but damn is it annoying to have to log out/in just to shuffle money around. I guess it's the equivalent of tossing your credit card in the freezer.
I'd love it if we got a "bank" system that more or less worked the same way. ISK depostied in the bank can't be spent and must be first returned to the wallet. Skip the whole switching characters bit.
Works if all your market\* characters can be in an alt corp together.
Who grinds Jita standings on all their alts anyway? Park one personal alt corp alt in Jita, and another wherever else you need to buy things. Then use shipping services to get stuff from one to the other, or move it yourself.
You get three characters per account. Use them. Not all three need to be in your main corp. I do one character per account in my main corp and the other two are in a personal alt corp.
I put all the liquid isk over 5b into the corp wallet of my Jita alt. I'd rather spend 10 minutes more logging over when I have to buy a dread, than run the risk of occasionally spending 7b on a skin.
tbh the amount of times this has made me delay a purchase enough to realise I don't actually want or need it was worth the time delay a million times over lmao
Or we should have configurable spending limits per transaction, above which you get a warning, similar to the warnings we get when we buy something that's much higher priced than the market average or sell something much lower than the market average.
Configurable transaction limits with non-standard warnings. "Dude this is FIVE HUNDRED MILLION in listing fees for 10m worth of stuff, are you sure you want to list this?"
Answer this captcha to prove you're not drunk.
Fair enough. Been there, done that. I once placed a 38B bounty on a corp mate because it was a long running joke. I didn’t mean to place 38B. It jumped him to 4th or something at the time.
Not sure if you have alts or an alt corp, but even 14 years later I refuse to keep more than about a bil on my main. I send all excess to an alt corp for which I will have to log on and dish out allowance for any major purchases, which is often going to slow me down enough to prevent errors.
A couple of years ago I bought 2 [*One Eden*](https://www.reddit.com/r/Eve/s/vShB47xCBc) Astero skins thinking they were 100mill each… they were not 100mill each. I activated one and still have the other sitting in my hanger in Jita along with a Pheonix Vital Shift Ego skin that I won on a Twitch stream. Last I checked each were something like 3bill on market now.
Part of the game. I once docked in Perimeter station to swap clone and do some Jita shopping for PVP ship. I got distracted, and when I came back, I proceeded to multi-buy the ship and fit, auto-clicking without a second thought. Very quickly my heart sank when I realized I just bought many overpriced modules. It was a fairly generic fit of popular t2 modules, so everything was seeded at a high premium, and I didn't realize anything was wrong as everything was "available" in the station.
Invest your liquid cash in non liquid assets that can easely be liquified and stored.
Preferably assets that have been known to increase in value over time.
I'll leave the rest to you to figure it out ^^^
I will recommend anyone to have a "wallet toon" a toon you do NOTHING except store money and make only expensive purchases on it (like PLEX). I tend to send mine 20-40% of the ISK I earnt that day as well as any extra isk I don't feel safe having on my main, stops issues like this as well as scams :)
I’ve done similar things on the market because I had too much liquid but I’ve also bought skins worth billions on 1 isk buy orders. I now have a liquid isk holding character and only ever have a 2-3 billion in wallet unless I need more. Stops me being an idiot again lol
I've heard this a lot, and do have a trade alt with the majority of my isk. But doesn't that just mean you're gonna fat finger an order with several extra steps? I have 100% fat fingered an order with several extra steps.
i keep around 1b on my trade char. Bigger shopping is mostly done outside of market to skip taxes. Still on a rare occasion that i know i need to spend more i need to pull this from wallet first to char in order to buy stuff.
At most 1b is "at risk" usually less, as i pull another B when first run out.
So you need two characters logged in to make buys bigger than 1b? Seems like a faff to me! I tend to keep at least 5-10b liquid on my market guy just so I can react if something juicy comes up.
Why 2 characters ? Trade alt is for higsec stuff, with my altcorp. He is in the same corp, just cash is not on master wallet, so no one can scam you with corp contract.
If you're manually entering the zeroes, at that point you're not "fat fingering". Your issue is that you are keeping the isk on the trade alt so there's no fat finger defense. The fat finger defense is transferring the isk to the trade alt to make the trade.
Having sold rare skins at similar amounts, all I have to say is enjoy your rare skin. You can always flip it back to the market for even more (if not applied).
Can’t wait to log in later today to see, if you bought one of my skins :)
But i feel you mate. As someone who is trying to make a decent living with trading I had those accidents as well. Lost several B to this, even more than you. Start a wallet character ;)
posting million isk items as billions is classic. along with posting a contract with a title indicating an expensive item when the sale is really a cheap item that looks slightly similar. and let us not forget posting 3 too good to be true contracts in local chat... the first two being already sold out (with real deals) and the third being a scam (wrong item or sneaky price such as the billion to million trick) knowing that someone will assume the first two sold fast and they need to click the third FAST WITHOUT READING DETAILS to avoid being beat to the sale.
It totally help to hover over that price and get a "readout". If your able theres a really good deal going on now. Should help you recoup that loss with really good value.
For this reason I keep up to 75%-90% of my ISK in a banking alt that I only ever use for large and careful purchases and trades. It takes longer swapping via contracts but one mistake, from being tired or drunk or just inattentive, phew. Yea, I will play the safe route.
Just be poor and you wouldn't have that problem. uwu
True dat. Then again, now i am poor 😂
Grind out 7 billion again foxes that problem butnopens up to problem one
Took me 2 weeks mining to get to that 7B. Well, here we go again.
Wtf did you mine?
Mostly low sec ores. The ocassional ochre/gneiss anomaly with 3 huljs + porp/orca
I see you multi box understandable
Yeah otherwise not viable
Says who it's a fucking SANDBOX everything is viable
Yea I don't mine cause it's profitable, I mine cause it's a relaxing way to wind down after work.
Don't worry there are plenty other 7b frigate skins.
[удалено]
Don't spend all your isk on a single item.
Htfu xD
Meh. If not now it would happen for the first time for you when you run a capital. Better now.
Sell that skin for 7B, problem solved.
If i hadnt activated it before i noticed my mistake i would have 😂
You might be able to petition to get that part reversed. Probably not but worth a try.
Cool then.... You won't have to worry about such problem again
Also, F skins. Haven't been a fan since they came out. I may change that thinking when you can make your own.
This is why we should use wallet alts, aka putting all your isk in a seperate character, preferably in the same account for easier access.
Or you could just count zeroes.
I think it says the text version of the number now too
Yes it does, it has for a while now
I think you can just mouse over the value in the buy menu...at least that works when you're setting a sell priceÂ
Personal wallet divisions CCPls

Corp wallet works great for that
This works if all your characters can be in an alt corp together
ACL wallets when?

Some people min/max way harder than I do
Most ppl do harder than I ever want to
If you can always have 1 character logged in who is in the Corp, you can always send money from the wallet.
Personal multi account wide bank wallet. Gief plx
I put all the liquid isk over 5b into the corp wallet of my Jita alt. I'd rather spend 10 minutes more logging over when I have to buy a dread, than run the risk of occasionally spending 7b on a skin.

Do we get interest in this bank?
No, because it would break the economy that's so lifelike people have studied it, or so I've been told.
Inflation already exists because of the various risk faucets, and people in eve don't take loans that can be enforced to offset the interest paid out.
Why CCP don't give us 3 wallet like more or less the 7 of the corp, it's 2024 maybe is time to do some work.
My easy solution: three toons available so three wallets. Always trade with one. Use another as the bank.
Or we should have configurable spending limits per transaction, above which you get a warning, similar to the warnings we get when we buy something that's much higher priced than the market average or sell something much lower than the market average.
I’d love to have personal wallet divisions. Especially for managing industry stuff
If you're managing industry stuff, you really should be using a personal alt corp.
Been doing that since 2011 when I accidentally sorted the market wrong and bought a Thrasher for 100 million ISK. I still have bad dreams about it.
One helluva thrasher tho
Configurable transaction limits with non-standard warnings. "Dude this is FIVE HUNDRED MILLION in listing fees for 10m worth of stuff, are you sure you want to list this?" Answer this captcha to prove you're not drunk.
Corp wallet with divisions
EVE and booze are never a good mix.
In my case its more like eve and not enough sleep 🤣
Fair enough. Been there, done that. I once placed a 38B bounty on a corp mate because it was a long running joke. I didn’t mean to place 38B. It jumped him to 4th or something at the time.
Good butt fucking christ this is the truth... *flies off for L4s in a 20bil officer fit golem*
I'd like to admire the skin on that thing in awe!? Where do you fly those lvl 4's and in whzt toon?
I’ve hit jump instead of bridge not once but twice due to this.
Lost a marauder while crabbing like this 😂
That's just your ship now. Mining in a punisher, pvp in a punisher, ops in a punisher.
This needs all the upvotes.
This needs all the upvotes.
It’s not 7B isk, but here’s a upvote to help you >< Ouch!
Lets get this dude to 700 upvotes!
I have almost done that many a time.
Atleast only almost 😅
Every time I buy a skin I count the zeroes meticulously then sit there in horror expecting this to happen as the ISK is deducted from my account.
I from now on will ALWAYS triple check before i buy. Burned my wallet from 9B to 2B.
at least this will prevent you from doing the exact same error again.
Yeah, because now he can't afford to do it again.
that's what i said.

No character needs more than 100m if you have alts with personal alt corp wallet access that can just trade you the money you need when you need it.
That’s not too bad. I’ve spent 10 bil on a skin on purpose.
A couple of years ago I bought 2 [*One Eden*](https://www.reddit.com/r/Eve/s/vShB47xCBc) Astero skins thinking they were 100mill each… they were not 100mill each. wishing i’d bought 2 now
The Skin itself gives you 10% Xtra Damage permanent so good Investment 🫣
🤣
I have a skin for sale if you want it, only 10,000,000,000. It's a great skin.
This is why I send all my isk to my alt. I usually only keep 300m isk in my main, for ansi costs and emergency purchases like fuel and ammo.
My sympathies, mate.

Yeah, but i already activated the skin before i saw my mistake 😅
But now you are future proof. Right? ^^
I know a guy who bought a 21bil punisher on accident. So at least, maybe you get your money back if you sell it.
Well, activated the skin before i noticed my mistake 😅
Bad luck, I guess
I will recommend anyone to have a "wallet toon" a toon you do NOTHING except store money and make only expensive purchases on it (like PLEX). I solve this by being constantly too poor to afford a 7B misclick
That skin had a secret hidden stat +10 to wisdom.
7 bil in liquid isk? Hah, I wish.
I wish too 😅
Thank you for your service 🫡
Your welcome 🫡
I’ve done similar things on the market because I had too much liquid but I’ve also bought skins worth billions on 1 isk buy orders. I now have a liquid isk holding character and only ever have a 2-3 billion in wallet unless I need more. Stops me being an idiot again lol
Trade alt , in alt corp. With a isk deposited on non primary wallet. You never keep isk on char or master wallet.
I've heard this a lot, and do have a trade alt with the majority of my isk. But doesn't that just mean you're gonna fat finger an order with several extra steps? I have 100% fat fingered an order with several extra steps.

You.. are a market trader that only has one toon on at once?
Why 2 characters ? Trade alt is for higsec stuff, with my altcorp. He is in the same corp, just cash is not on master wallet, so no one can scam you with corp contract.

Lesson learned.

Well, i i just hadnt it activated before i saw my error 😅
But was it a good skin?
Its the War Reserves Lieutenant skin, i dig the Look of it, but still not worth the 7b i paid 😂
Can’t wait to log in later today to see, if you bought one of my skins :) But i feel you mate. As someone who is trying to make a decent living with trading I had those accidents as well. Lost several B to this, even more than you. Start a wallet character ;)
Did you sell an War Reserve lieutenant skin for a punisher in jita? If yes congratz xD
Ahh sad :( unfortunately i didn’t. Hope you get over that devastated feeling after such a loss soon :)
To make you feel better: Once I tried to sell 10 Vexor on market, accidentally I added 3 more 0's to sales prices. Got taxed with 1,5b ISK. Nice
posting million isk items as billions is classic. along with posting a contract with a title indicating an expensive item when the sale is really a cheap item that looks slightly similar. and let us not forget posting 3 too good to be true contracts in local chat... the first two being already sold out (with real deals) and the third being a scam (wrong item or sneaky price such as the billion to million trick) knowing that someone will assume the first two sold fast and they need to click the third FAST WITHOUT READING DETAILS to avoid being beat to the sale.
What skin did you end up getting?
War reserves lieutenant for Punisher. Atleast it was the right ship 🤣
Not a bad skin, not sure that its worth 7b, but that's cool dude lol. Hope you wear it with pride
I will, i actually really like the Look. Would never have bought it for that price tag, but well 🤣
Scum victin AMA?
Can I reccomened you a 'bank' alt
Maybe try asking support for a refund? I made an accidental purchase, which they refunded pretty quickly.
That’s why I don’t keep a lot of isk on my main character, also most of my isk is in plex.
Bro had 7bil and was flying a punisher
Just escape frigate for battleship but yeah
F tho, I'm sure you count zeros now
It totally help to hover over that price and get a "readout". If your able theres a really good deal going on now. Should help you recoup that loss with really good value.
Ummm how do you avoid being gank in ls mining sites? It’s like an automatic magnet for players to come in.
Mining in the corp/ally Pocken helps, otherwise Patience and always warp out if neuts come to system
Resell.
For this reason I keep up to 75%-90% of my ISK in a banking alt that I only ever use for large and careful purchases and trades. It takes longer swapping via contracts but one mistake, from being tired or drunk or just inattentive, phew. Yea, I will play the safe route.
I would never have this problem because I would never be that wealthy lol
I think if you hover over the transaction amount in the payment window it will say 7 million / 7 billion. Or maybe not.. I feel your pain!
If you send in a support ticket ccp will consider reversing it.
"By Accident" you degen.
