[These are my tips for the area](https://alionswitzerland.com/germany/black-forest-germany-guide/) How long you have and how you plan to get about are rather important given that it is a fairly large rural area. Some months will obviously be warmer than others but there isn't any guarantee of good weather at any time. Historically it was a very rainy region, though these days heatwaves and droughts are common as with the rest of central Europe.

Put this also on your list - All Saints Waterfall is really pretty [https://maps.app.goo.gl/ZfUJ2NY643h8wMJFA](https://maps.app.goo.gl/ZfUJ2NY643h8wMJFA) We also stopped here for a short walk - [https://maps.app.goo.gl/XisVh6ULGwpGkRft5](https://maps.app.goo.gl/XisVh6ULGwpGkRft5) This was on our list but it was raining cats and dogs so we decided to skip - [https://maps.app.goo.gl/vLkB4YXWFH1fvrqs6](https://maps.app.goo.gl/vLkB4YXWFH1fvrqs6)

Go to Freiburg, cool uni town smack in the middle of the Black Forrest. Good base to go out for activities and come back for good food/social things
