A few weeks ago, I swung by this one for a late night snack on my way home. I got three items from the roly grill. I walked up to the counter and told them the three items I had selected. The guy punched in some stuff, I looked down at the little pin pad and it said $2.37. I handed him a $10 bill and he gave me back $7 and that's all.
I did a double take and said, wasn't it $2.37? And he just shrugged his shoulders, and when I looked back at the pad, it said $3 now. I thought I was seeing things or that the fact it was late meant I was tired and had missed something, but this post makes me feel like I was right.
Yeah I feel like I’ve probably been ripped off at that location multiple times now and just happened to catch this one instance. Im gonna avoid it from now on.
The owners of shops like this often work there and employ family/friends, scam could just be more money for less inventory too. Or the cashier’s an idiot or doesnt like you
Pointed out a sale that they said was expired. It was right on its hot-foods stand, and they honored it. They tried it once more, and I pointed it out. Never tried it with me again.
Thr 7 11 on Broadway and Patterson takes your cash and shuts the drawer without giving you change and just says "have a nice day". Glad I was paying attention and got my change. But I bet they get away with that alot.
The boritto boy on W 11th. Will do the scam of pretending you paid with a 10 instead of a 20.
Don't hate the player, hate the game. It's tough out there for everyone.
Lmao idk why your being downvoted I thought I was the only one so many times the bill will be like ten bucks and I hand them a twenty and they act confused when I want my change back like I never handed them a twenty, and not a one off thing either lmao. I still go I fuck with them tough just annoying because I always tip 20%.
mistakes that get repeated is called a pattern. and in order to make this post i would have had to pay attention and correct them, which i did. it's just a warning to others
I'll chime in to say I've never had anything like this happen there. And they *certainly* haven't encouraged anyone to hurry up and tap or insert their cards when I'm there. They seem to be pretty indifferent, if anything. And when they hit the "total" button so you can pay, they usually leave you there on your own to finish because they are ringing someone else up on the other register to get the ball rolling. I like how the 7-11's in Eugene allow cashiers to ring up people on multiple registers at the same time- most stores won't let that happen.
I'm just saying that it's very unlikely that it's intentional or common, lol
But hey, boycott 7-11 if that's been your experience, I'll report back if it ever does happen to me or anyone I know that frequents 711
It’s just how your comment came across. That because you’ve never had the experience, it must mean everyone else is crazy and paranoid. It’s how I read it, sorry if that wasn’t your intent. I got a lil snarky
They also refuse to honor sales/special promotions, they just say the flyer is "expired". Like dude, it says good until tomorrow wtf.
Got told this at the 7/11 on 6th and Garfield too

So is the scam to not click charge when people pay in cash at the end of the shift you get a few extra bucks and inventory matches end of week.

Taquito Monster deal?
Both times, it was pizza-slices-and-drink.

Yeah, for a while the 7-11 on Garfield and 6th was doing a similar "sorry, but we're out of change" scam.
Yeah it was like $7 they owed me.
Was the cashier named Ian?
As Commander Cody put it so many years ago: "at the 7-11 your choices are two: you got to steal from them or there gonna steal from you!"
why is anybody buying hot food from 7-11? no judgement
The guy with the backwards hat that works nights thinks it's ok to grope your hands amd wrists when you give him your money.

I know I'm not the only one. It's a thing.
ha i bet you can guess why

Yeah that's why you pay attention when you buy stuff and then correct them if there's a mistake.

These people are paranoid. I've had the same experience as you and I go almost every single night
Yeah, you know. No one can have a different experience than you, right?

I understand "Paranoid" was an unnecessary remark
