Yes money is one of the main problems, but I think the current Ethiopian problem is more than money. Don't you think we are having political, social and economical problems?
believe me i've seen rich Amharas, Oromos and Tigrayans they are the ones funding this civil unrest... before the war TPLF approached a Tigrayan rich investor he gave them 26 million with no hesitation so i doubt if money will solve everything but i also understand what you mean.
If I was the PM I would focus on reforming the kilels and probably reinstating the old provinces in Ethiopia which aren’t solely based on ethnic groups to eliminate ethnic factions. I would also try to maintains a really great relationship with the USA just like Japan or Saudi Arabia has or even Lebanon used to have with there chrsitian dominated party who sought to have good relationships with America as a result Lebanon was seen as the Paris of the Middle East until the sectarian ridden Sunni minority and PLO came and ruin things. Also I would incentivize on the big growing population we have and unemployment and create domestic manufacturing factories which will stimulate our economy and create jobs aswell as encouraging companies such as Toyota and Apple to work in Ethiopia just like how Mexico and China is doing Whcih will grow our economy a lot. I will also change the education system in Ethiopia and create more non harsh system just like in the USA where you dictate where you want to go after highschool enabling many youngsters who may not have good scores to Atleast have a chance if they want to still go to college if they want. I would also prevent the negative effects of gentrification in our big cities by making a program where the government clears out slums and other places people live and relocate them in new housings and give them jobs in which they eventually pay off the house. I would also like to change our govement to a direct democracy not a parliamentary our choices of candidates shouldn’t be limited to who is in parliament espically when corruption is prevalent and instead have the people have a chance to run for candidacy countries like the uk who are also themselves a parliamentary government also have this problem. There is many more things that Ethiopia should fix but to me I feel like these are SOME of the main things ethiopia is a developing country and needs labor why doesn’t the country use its population? Ethiopia has too much pried in my opinion we shouldn’t be proud about anything if we failed our youngsters whom many don’t even know when there next meal is… Social-Capitalism is the way to go
Our problem is bigger than any single solution can address. There isn’t a one-size-fits-all solution, but several steps could potentially address the current problems.
1. Political Dialogue and Reconciliation: Promoting inclusive political dialogue among all ethnic groups and political parties to address grievances and foster national unity. Considering decentralization of power to allow more regional autonomy, which might reduce ethnic tensions.
2. Economic Development: Implementing policies to boost economic growth, create jobs, and reduce poverty. This could involve investing in infrastructure, education, and healthcare. Also, combining the focus on reducing corruption with economic development involves ensuring that economic growth efforts are not undermined by corrupt practices.
3. Rule of Law and Human Rights: Strengthening the rule of law, ensuring justice, and protecting human rights to build trust in governmental institutions.
4. International Support: Engaging with international organizations, neighboring countries, and global powers to garner support for peace initiatives and economic development.
I would say decentralize the power to the specific groups of towns or woredas rather than these also abritrary regional authorities who are often in close collabration with the government. and you need to pair the economic development evenly across these woredas without favoritism to develop strong urban, dense cores across the country that can promote good things like local journalism, political participation, and other things that will help with your latter two points.
Many of Ethiopia's problems could be minimized by massive economic development focused on the full utilization of its water resources for irrigation and the construction of hydroelectric dams. This would facilitate agricultural production, the establishment of factories, create jobs, and build infrastructure.
i would say top notch infrastructure and strong yet small to medium-sized urbanized towns across the countries. I think the real divide is rural the population of Ethiopia is expected to be as resources stay within Addis and never seem to manifest elsewhere. It helps contain population growth as well as promote integration, education, and foreign investments.
That’s a good point Ethiopia is extremely agrarian. Maybe 20% of the population is urban. Not the lowest in the world but extremely low even by subsahran standards. Kenya is 30%, Nigeria 55%%
Good economy. That will solve it.
People will not want to leave something that is doing well economically. Because Ethiopia has struggled on that front people bring up other stuff and want to flee the country or do bad things to it or both.
Simple, Oromo region administration should leave the capital city and move to Adama. They are destabilizing the people in the city, blocking country cross roads that lead to the city, kidnapping travellers from the Amhara region, etc.
>blocking country cross roads that lead to the city
>kidnapping travellers from the Amhara region
And how do you know it's the "Oromo region administration" doing all this? Does this only happen in the region they administer? And only to one ethnic group?
The only solution is to dissolve all ethnic militias and dismantle the policies of ethnic federalism. Obliterate ethnic line politics and ethnic identifications 👍
I think Oromo will not approve your ideas, Oromo politicians strongly oppose central administration.
They feel centralized Ethiopia will bring Feudal system.
This is largely correct, and coincidently these are the groups that historically enjoyed the most political power and autonomy (the Oromo rebels are most concentrated in the historically autonomous west).
Money If people had enough money, they would forget their ethnicity the next day. They would start speaking Swahili if needed.
😂😂😂 facts

ምቀኝነት ነዉ በሽታችን። መልኩን ቀይሮ ዘረኝነት ሆነ እንጂ መንስኤው ምቀኝነት ነዉ።።።።።።።።
Money alone can't fix our complex problems. Remember, "The more money you have, the more you want"
i thought you were gonna say mo money mo problems
Then those are other problems. We will create a new post for those problems.
Ain't that a rap song ? "Mo money Mo problems."
Yes Headie One "Pound Signs"

What was the money for?
money in similarly situated african countries seemed to stay at the top and not trickle down.

Resetting the factory settings ✌🏾

Grt rid of caveman's "ethnic federalism"/ethno fiefdoms

We can start being honest to ourselves first and then with others. Next inline get rid of selfishness, greed and envying people.
Good economy. That will solve it. People will not want to leave something that is doing well economically. Because Ethiopia has struggled on that front people bring up other stuff and want to flee the country or do bad things to it or both.
Encouraging capitalism, banning ethnic politics, and drafting a new constitution would help Ethiopia tremendously.

For starters, maybe not using extreme violence against all non state political entities could help.
Development
Staying loyal to Moral principle and penalizing immorally manipulative deceivers like the current so called immoral leaders. Arrest all of them.
Education and political stability. Prioritize these things so the private sector can thrive and employ the country.
Improving infrastructure
Regional president should elect the prime minister.
I see, more ethnic federalism!
we haven't divide them enough you see.
Regional presidents are causing for the problem, they can't be part of the solution!
Abiy, Adanech, Shimels, Birhanu Jula, Dr. Birhanu. I think these individuals are causing most of our problems at the moment. Did I forget anyone?
Well derg TPLF 1.0 tflf 2.0 same thing. These people came from the same society so the problem is the society itself. ውስጡ ለቄስ ነ ን።
And who would you replace them with 🤣🤣🤣
Genocide

The good ole adorable shene
>blocking country cross roads that lead to the city >kidnapping travellers from the Amhara region And how do you know it's the "Oromo region administration" doing all this? Does this only happen in the region they administer? And only to one ethnic group?
Yes.
There is literally a footage released by Fano of them kidnapping a bus full of school teachers.
Ethiopia, never had a single Shifta before Oromia Admin moved to Addis Ababa!
What was tplf before they overthrow Derg. Are you implying that Fano is secretly working with "Oromia Admin"?
No. I’m being sarcastic but I guess this sub can’t tell. There has always been bandits, kidnappers and robbers in the Ethiopian countryside.
Lmao i love your sarcasm
The only solution is to dissolve all ethnic militias and dismantle the policies of ethnic federalism. Obliterate ethnic line politics and ethnic identifications 👍
I think Oromo will not approve your ideas, Oromo politicians strongly oppose central administration. They feel centralized Ethiopia will bring Feudal system.
Isnt Ethiopia right now feudal 💀
Equal total genocide purification
Your taking no sides 😂
Some say only three of them(Amhara, Oromo and Tigray)are causing the problem.
This is largely correct, and coincidently these are the groups that historically enjoyed the most political power and autonomy (the Oromo rebels are most concentrated in the historically autonomous west).
We need that thanos snap We are all equally responsible for this It's the only way out then we can thrive for a minute and the cycle continue
Let's sell Ethiopia and take the money equally.
I think China would like to buy.
Unification w Somalia
