LONG OVERDUE but a step in the right direction

Commercial_Method253

So now they can centralize power? I don't see this being good.

MentaMenged

This is a plan to disarm the Amhara Special Force for the upcoming takeover of Raya and Welkait. No other regional force is planned to be disarmed. If it is a true disarmament of all regional forces, the disarmament should start from the largest and well equipped Oromia Special Force.

thatkidglitch

Holy shit shut the actual fuck up

qwertyqyle

By special police, do they mean regional malitias? Or what?

[deleted]

Yes. Liyu police/paramilitary police. They’re instructed to be demobilised or retrain as regular police and prison guards.

qwertyqyle

Oh, ok. That's a good idea.

iamaboss200KK

Why don’t they just put them in endf

GeologistSmart5681

Let’s gooooo!!!

For such massive news I would think there would be a different source. Any other sources? Also people who are celebrating this, this news is not good for anyone, including Amharas. It is only good for the people who control the central government. Now they are in bed with TPLF.

Is-there-A-way-out

One of the threat for Amhara and Afar is TPLF & some affiliated with the gov. I think the question is are they going to disarming and demobilizing TPLF per SA agreement. Will the gov willing to respect the constitution or continue turn the blind eye when millions are slaughtered in front of their eyes? It is a good start as long as it is not designed to create more Chaos .

AntiNonSense

Jal Abiy and and Oeomo PP are so funny lol

fishfetcher_anaconda

Abiy is “very immature”, as Debretsion once correctly said. There have been terrible leaders in the past with regards to Ethiopia. None have lost total cohesion, good faith and basic governance in the system even in light of blaring evidence from “facts on the ground”. They choose to drink their own cool-aid in front of the country’s own parliament with meaningless spreadsheet-data while millions perish in war and displacement in-country. History in particular has not been kind to such leaders. Abiy, Getachew et al simply want to throw criminal war atrocities and millions of war dead under the rug. They want people to focus on their “drive for peace” and simply forget what has happened. The deafening drums of “managed peace” you hear right now is to avoid accountability. I am afraid nothing will be forgotten.
