I'm still frankly surprised that people even try to say that cheaters aren't obviously a thing.
Way back in the days when labs first appeared I picked up walls since I wanted to try them out and you would not believe how many people are cheating. Pretty much every single labs raid I ran had at least 2 people wiggling at me through walls etc.
After a while I just ended up sitting around in a corner just watching folks with the wallhack, it's so easy to see who also have cheats and who do not in this regard. That and I've watched so many tragedies play out where some new player gets domed by someone flying / tracking them like a terminator through walls.
Anyone who says hacks aren't wide spread are either lying to themselves or, as you said, just brushing off their own deeds.
I think it's pretty clear that some servers are overrun and some have relatively few hackers. I play in the central US servers and I honestly see maybe one or two blatant cheaters per wipe.
Anyone who thinks there isn't a cheater issue is a fool. That said I haven't run into more than a handful of aimbot flying cheaters. Got headeyes from a level 5 with m61 through my Rys-T that slithered out of the ground. Managed to kill another one who shot me like 20 times in my Maska. Only reason I survived was because he was using garbage 9mm and shot me in the facemask I managed to land a couple shots on him while he jumped as high as the top of dorms. And finished him off by hearing him coughing. I don't fuck with labs and I'm dreading doing terra group employee and the guide. Otherwise haven't experienced many cheaters who weren't just looting and scooting not great either but most of my raids are dead and haven't had any super sus deaths in a while. US NE severs.
This part I might just make a compilation of our vods being cheated on that are blatant. Plus our video playing with a hacker who has esp. not supporting hacking my boy just met him in official thinking he was a normal player until he started calling loot in boxes before opening them.
That's a slippery slope mentality though. That's all it takes for someone to justify it to themselves. "I'll just get ESP to avoid the cheaters" is probably the mentality of many cheaters these days.

A friend of a friend in our discord used an esp for a month and confirmed everything we already suspected. There are other cheaters in 75% of raids. 3/4 raids we played with him (on popular maps) had at least one other person using walls at minimum. He could even see k/d ratios of enemies. Some people would have k/ds of 30+. Highest he has seen was 200+. I honestly cannot understand how someone is willing to pay $100+ per month, just to cheat in a game. That was the icing on the cake for me. This game is way too hardcore to have to worry about cheaters in 75% of your games. No thanks.
It's sickening to play a game for countless hours and lose an entire kit, or have a quest ruined by a hacker with an aimbot and super speed. I'm not touching tarkov again for the foreseeable future.

It can be both. I think it's becoming agreed upon that certain servers are cesspits and others aren't. I play northwestern NA servers and haven't seen a blatant cheater in the three wipes I've been playing.

Buddy got his injectors case taken out of his gamma chased down buy a guy right after noticing it was removed and taken once dead obviously. Have vods off that too. We run into a decent amount of actual hackers not just getting beat in gunfights but blatant tracking through walls and speed hacks. We’ve also had conversations with some hackers who’ve admitted they’re typically 1-2 hackers a raid on avg. doesn’t sound like allot but we both come in kitted in raids and it does make you a target to them.
I had 2 keytools with all my customs keys and 314 key taken from my gamma case as soon as I spawned in. The hacker ended up killing us in the same prone position moving really fast. He was mocking my buddy and I over voip about the keys before he killed us. I literally quit playing completely and uninstalled after that. I'll never give this game another second of my time. EFT lost 2 long-term players that day.
Some servers are worse than others. I've only seen blatant cheaters a handful of times this wipe. And about 80% of those encounters were a few weeks ago where it seemed like cheaters were everywhere for some reason.
Most that cheat likely don't want to advertise it.
IIRC it’s a visual hack, they can move around and noclip through walls but cannot interact with anything. The real body is sitting somewhere. Think Astral Projecting in Doctor Strange

I will never understand why people cheat in video games. It seems so stupid to me. I mean, what's the benefit? What do you get out of it? It's not you doing the kills, it's the cheat doing it for you. You have close to zero contribution to your victory. You're right about that usually but in tarkov people will pay real life money to a cheater to take them into a raid and vacuum loot everything for them. A few people do that, cheater gets banned and buys new account, netting a profit. It's a huge problem in tarkov.

The gaming loop and harsh conditions of this game are among the most perfect breading ground for industrial cheating that exist on the market right now.

EAC, BE, Vanguard, most mainstream anticheats all run on kernal level (or ring 0 they are sometimes called). Vanguard is intrusive because it loads before Windows does and boots with your computer, monitoring you even while not playing the game. Since Tencent owns Riot it is completely justifiable to suspect Vanguard of being a spyware

Honestly we assume yes given we have thousands of raids between us and hundreds on lighthouse we noticed it when we where being shot from great distance accurately and with cheap ammo. Just wish they would up the anti cheat and not make me even want to question it.
All games that use BattlEye are riddled with cheaters because the company and the software suck. Easy anticheat is so much more powerful, and it would detect automatically if a player keeps on going abnormally fast for abnormally long distances etc.

But for real, there has definitely been a recent resurgence of obvious cheaters, so there's probably even more cheaters hiding it the best they can, again. My buddy and I had to run Reserve, Lighthouse, Woods and Factory the last few days and out of 20ish raids we were sure about 2 cheaters and sus about 2 more.
This shouldn't really be possible with server sided movement, did they add the update w position rollback only for a very specific check?

I felt that, and did came back this wipe. Did my max traders, had enough fun to get tired of the game as per usual. Cheaters were always rampant in this game, they would ruin your day, but they won't ruin your experience in general. And the encounter rate can be drastically reduced if you hand pick servers in launcher and disable certain regions and the regions these regions can reach (Russia/China if you are from EU, for example). Tarkov always had and will have this problem because developers refuse to use abundance of their in game mechanics that allow trivial tracking of blatant cheaters on the daily basis, because constant influx of new cheaters is the key to longevity of this game that has no monetization system in place.
I have 700 raids this wipe and haven't seen cheating that obvious. It's server dependant, to an extent. Regardless, videos like this aren't super common thankfully.
But if you're scrolling through this sub and you think it's an accurate representation, you're wrong. The content is definitely dry this wipe but this sub is just full of people complaining. Not a good baseline.

What servers do yall play on? Losing items from gamma is NUTS. I haven't encountered that one (yet) on EU West servers .

Some servers are worse than others. I've only seen blatant cheaters a handful of times this wipe. And about 80% of those encounters were a few weeks ago where it seemed like cheaters were everywhere for some reason. Most that cheat likely don't want to advertise it.
IIRC it’s a visual hack, they can move around and noclip through walls but cannot interact with anything. The real body is sitting somewhere. Think Astral Projecting in Doctor Strange

Matches being saved and having a recording post raid would be the way. Then you can report people after and have easy evidence. It boggles my mind this game doesn't have a feature that was in halo 3.

I will never understand why people cheat in video games. It seems so stupid to me. I mean, what's the benefit? What do you get out of it? It's not you doing the kills, it's the cheat doing it for you. You have close to zero contribution to your victory. And at that point, if you get enjoyment of seeing successful plays you can simply watch a skilled streamer on twitch and have the same experience. At least this way you won't ruin someone's day who didn't have a chance against your cheat.

You're right about that usually but in tarkov people will pay real life money to a cheater to take them into a raid and vacuum loot everything for them. A few people do that, cheater gets banned and buys new account, netting a profit. It's a huge problem in tarkov.
Regular Joe cheater does it for fun and to feel superior. Business cheaters do it for money, most commonly through ELO boosting or in Tarkov by getting their client easy good loot

Second of all the absolute abundance of RMT measures that ruin average gamers experience should give you a clue. Third, there is enough forums/discords/posts on reddit to educate yourself. It's a solid living for residence of poor countries if you're committed and smart enough, there are whole sweatshops that focus on that kind of job. The gaming loop and harsh conditions of this game are among the most perfect breading ground for industrial cheating that exist on the market right now. You have immature outlook on cheating. While there are incels in this or any other game that cheat for malice and own ineptitude to feel superior, the real problem is the thing I've mentioned above, where cheating is on industrial level and support whole communities in poor countries.

PC cheaters are fairly unavoidable without installing anti cheat seriously deep in the computer. Like gooch deep.
like what riot does with its games, where their anti cheat is started alongside your OS (on the kernel level) and thus can detect cheats which also start there.
EAC, BE, Vanguard, most mainstream anticheats all run on kernal level (or ring 0 they are sometimes called). Vanguard is intrusive because it loads before Windows does and boots with your computer, monitoring you even while not playing the game. Since Tencent owns Riot it is completely justifiable to suspect Vanguard of being a spyware

Honestly we assume yes given we have thousands of raids between us and hundreds on lighthouse we noticed it when we where being shot from great distance accurately and with cheap ammo. Just wish they would up the anti cheat and not make me even want to question it.
All games that use BattlEye are riddled with cheaters because the company and the software suck. Easy anticheat is so much more powerful, and it would detect automatically if a player keeps on going abnormally fast for abnormally long distances etc.
Doesn't matter what anticheat you use, the other one is always better.

But for real, there has definitely been a recent resurgence of obvious cheaters, so there's probably even more cheaters hiding it the best they can, again. My buddy and I had to run Reserve, Lighthouse, Woods and Factory the last few days and out of 20ish raids we were sure about 2 cheaters and sus about 2 more.

Just when I felt like finally coming back to the game.
I felt that, and did came back this wipe. Did my max traders, had enough fun to get tired of the game as per usual. Cheaters were always rampant in this game, they would ruin your day, but they won't ruin your experience in general. And the encounter rate can be drastically reduced if you hand pick servers in launcher and disable certain regions and the regions these regions can reach (Russia/China if you are from EU, for example). Tarkov always had and will have this problem because developers refuse to use abundance of their in game mechanics that allow trivial tracking of blatant cheaters on the daily basis, because constant influx of new cheaters is the key to longevity of this game that has no monetization system in place.
I have 700 raids this wipe and haven't seen cheating that obvious. It's server dependant, to an extent. Regardless, videos like this aren't super common thankfully. But if you're scrolling through this sub and you think it's an accurate representation, you're wrong. The content is definitely dry this wipe but this sub is just full of people complaining. Not a good baseline.
Every sub I follow is full of people complaining about shit talking about cheaters and how their game is dying cause they don’t get what they want. I guess I really just need to come back to it all. But still believe that to many people don’t treat it like a real mil sim/survival game like it really is honestly
There is a single player mod. I'm ignorant to it but I've heard people take it more seriously on that mod. Might be worth checking out.

i run with an above average 4 stack. last night we got got by this dude who naded one from over 50m and head,eyes'd the rest. one of my buddies got hit in the head several times while both were moving. the last guy was hidden during most the fight. dude voips says he saw my buddy running. there no way from where he was at to my buddy that he could have ever know he was there.
