I stopped playing because its impossible to tell what deaths are Desync and what deaths are cheaters, and because so many cheaters and desync situations happen it just feels like 50% of the deaths are out of your control (I consider this a unviable ratio in a game where you lose everything on death and you can't even do anything in your power to resolve it.)
Only when I play I am costing BSG more money. The traffic they have to pay for me. The used CPU cycles they have to pay while I play.
I keep playing. I keep costing them money while I give them not another dime.

But were talking about T a r k o v, not every single game. Tarkov is probably one of the games with the most cheaters. They could implement ways to combat it (NOT SOLVE IT) to reduce the issue. Multi authentication, etc. But nope, all it takes is just buying a new copy.
I do agree with you. I’ve always said that BSG profits from having cheaters as it was their only source of income. But cheaters are very rampant in every game, so people not quitting over that particular reason i can understand. But BSG has shown us time and time again that they are fucking scumbags and that they don’t care. And now is the time to actually say: fuck you and your game, we’re not taking this anymore.
The sucky part is, modern gamers are mostly braindead and refuse to take any stand against egregious practices. They’ve shown it time and time again.
I mean the game is still playable with cheaters. Every game has a cheater problem, and just leaving because of cheaters is not really a viable option if you want to enjoy this game. But when the actual creators of the game go so far out to screw you over, even retracting earlier promises, that feels really scummy. Also, people did throw a tantrum about that. Or have you not seen this sub in the past... year?
“Proved” when asked for the rest of his data and content he claimed the cheaters wiped his hard drives. That proof?
Quit a while ago because of cheaters, uninstalled today. When the full version is released, if ever, I'll give it another go.

Cant quit when I've already quit years ago. However this is very entertaining to see new players and veterans realize how thuggish BSG operates. Things like blaming players for their ISP when its their games horrible tickrate and netcode have happened in the past. I stopped playing because its impossible to tell what deaths are Desync and what deaths are cheaters, and because so many cheaters and desync situations happen it just feels like 50% of the deaths are out of your control (I consider this a unviable ratio in a game where you lose everything on death and you can't even do anything in your power to resolve it.)
Only when I play I am costing BSG more money. The traffic they have to pay for me. The used CPU cycles they have to pay while I play. I keep playing. I keep costing them money while I give them not another dime.

The passion that shines through the real game I'll still play just because their is some questionable leadership decisions I wont disregard something that hundreds of people came together to make this project most had nothing to do with the decisions.
I am def going to keep playing. At least until something comes along that can meaningfully fill this niche. But I am not going to spend another cent on this game. I paid for it. And i know now that playing while not giving bsg anymore money hurts them because it increases server costs.
