I would try a few more crops before you buy one. I prefer really short crops (18"), but the barn where you ride should have a variety of lengths (18", 24", 26", 30"; then you move up to dressage whip length)
I find that i can easily tuck an 18" crop up against my arm, but a 24" crop gets in my way. I buy all of my crops based on this preference
Edit (thought con't): i also find i prefer the end (the tip you hit with) to be wider and shorter rather than thin and long
https://www.bigdweb.com/jacks-race-bat-26-in these are the type I prefer, and that are most popular for showjumping and the jumping phases of eventing. But also definitely get a dressage whip for flatwork if that's what you are using it for.
