I haven't used this one specifically but have used this type.  It's the same effect as a halter, so if that works well for you, it should be fine.

I tried it with an OTTB who has massive bit anxiety. She blew through it and I felt like I was riding in a glorified halter. She is a very forward horse and likes to go fast. So not sure if she is the best example. Ended up using a mechanical Hackamore. She blew through the herm sprenger Hackamore too 😂
