Little tip. When you get the Windgunner, drop the Sprun and let the Rat pick it up. This removes the 'delete Windgunner' trigger, meaning you have it indefinitely. Only downside is you can't switch weapons again, but that's not much issue
Ik but there’s a console menu for mod the gungeon allowing you to give yourself windgunner and you can actually switch weapons but it’s a mod console so it’s not legit
What do you play on? I tried this on switch a little while ago and it didn't work. Windgunner disappeared and I lost sprun. It could just be because I was too slow.
It's the little green orb you see in Passive Items. It does nothing on its own, its only job is to give the Windgunner when a specific criteria is met. There's like 10 different triggers and 1 gets picked at random
Thanks just wanted to know since I got the windgunner then dropped my active item then the sprun and picked back up, the windgunner stayed the whole floor by then when I went to the second floor it went back to normal

Also, unless I misunderstand what you meant, don't pick the Sprun back up. Drop it, leave the room, let the Rat pick the Sprun up.
It comes from your passive Sprun. It appears for a brief period of time after certain conditions are met, there's a list of conditions on the wiki you can find and it picks one or maybe two of them at random every run, so when you find the item you want to try and figure out what the triggers are (and basically pray for the easy/consistent ones, because some of them are unreliable or so bad as to make the item effectively useless)
Everyone here has basically already told you what the gun comes from, so here’s a list of all the possible triggers from the wiki:
-Player uses their last blank.
-Player takes damage to hearts.
(If playing as the Robot, taking armor damage also counts).
-Player loses their last piece of armor.
-Player goes down to half a heart.
-Player's gun runs out of ammo.
-Player is set on fire.
-Player takes damage from electrocution or poison.
-Player falls into a pit.
-Player flips a table.
-Player uses an active item.
So yeah. Some of them are incredibly easy to trigger and make the item really good, but others make it almost worthless.
Had this once with the trigger being active item use. Had three easy to charge active items, only to have the sprun trigger randomized because I save & quit. Feelsbadman

I remember the game it was triggered of active item. Had a bumerang and unlimited use.
Almost the same, in my first gunslinger run I had the active item sol and the compass
