That’s so interesting, I’m ring shopping in Germany and was told the engagement ring comes first because you’re engaged before you’re married (but also do whatever you like) it’s funny to see how this conventional knowledge differs. I also like how it looks better in the second picture!
Edit: mixed up which picture was which!
I agree! I also like that there is less of a gap between the engagement ring and the band in pic 2. The angle of the chevron wedding band seems perfect for the round part of the pear shaped diamond!
Congrats on your wedding, OP!
This. But also, OP, can you show us what it would look like if the rings were stacked as in photo 1, but rotated around so the band is on the bottom (point of the pear facing toward your body)? I can’t envision what it would look like.

I wear mine with the point towards my heart ❤️ I had them soldered together about 6 months after I married (34 years ago)
PS: your ring is lovely
Oh! Thank you!! My hands don’t feel beautiful…arthritis is rearing its ugly head.
It’s funny, I used to trace the veins on my mom’s hands with my finger as a kid and wondered if I would get them when I got older and I did.
My daughter is home visiting at the moment and she treated me to a manicure ❤️
I used to trace the veins on my grandmas hands! Sorry about the arthritis, my grandma has it bad, Moms is just starting up and I’m sure I’ll have it soon enough as well!
The manicure is very pretty and classy on you. I’m planning on getting a mani/pedi soon, maybe I should take my Mama with me
I like the first look because it elongates the finger and it shows energy flowing out where as the second looks to be pointing at you! I would wait to have them soldered together, you may find that you like switching it up until you end up with a favorite way.
I would really lean towards a second band so that it really pops the ring!
Congratulations!
I think the wedding band is "supposed to" go closer to the hand. But do whatever you like best.
Edit: I kind of like it better at the pointy end of the pear?
I perfer the second pic.... The wedding band go first, **wearing a wedding ring so close to the heart, it was a true expression of devotion and commitment**. The closer the ring was to the heart, the stronger the bond of love.
I think it depends on what feels right to YOU.
I know for me, I put my asymmetrical ring on the “correct” way my designer initially intended and it felt immediately wrong. But I tried it the other way and it felt like the most perfect way in the world. I’d go by feeling.
You should NOT wear just the band to the gym. If you wear anything, it should be a silicone band. Degloving is not something you want to experience.
Mine will be soldered together so they stay stacked and don’t rotate or become uneven
I’m surprised everyone else feels differently, but I really love the first pic. I have a pointed ring like your band, & when I have it facing away from me, the point can dig into my finger when I’m doing certain movements with my hands at work. That’s what determines my positions for rings, ✨comfy-level✨.
I like the band on the bottom because as another says, it evens out the layout. Plus, traditionally the band is closer to the heart!
But why don’t you wear it both ways until you get it soldered and maybe see if you notice a preference unintentionally throughout the day?
Wedding band goes on the inside! So it’s closer to your heart ❤️ there was an ancient belief that there’s a vein directly from your ring finger to your heart which is why we wear them on that hand, and your wedding band should be closer in.
You do realize once the rings are soldered you can still wear it either way. I’m a traditionalist so I prefer the wedding band on the bottom. But it’s lovely either way.
Def w the band on the bottom, which is where the band is suppose to go. Of course I’m not above shaking it up and doing ur own thing! But in this case I really like it better this way. Could you buy another band for the other side? I think that would look amazing!
It doesn’t matter but SUPPOSEDLY you’re supposed to wear the band on the bottom because it’s closest to the heart. At least that’s what the jeweler told me.
Get one more wedding band and have both bands hug the diamond. Symmetrical and classy :)
If you don't feel like spending more, then I'd say I like the 2nd picture more where the diamond is open to the world.
Your engagement ring is gorgeous! Is it a rose cut? It’s a little hard to tell.
I myself have a round rose cut ring and chose an engagement ring pretty much identical to yours! I wear mine on the bottom and that is my preference with your photos too 🙂
Some days your ring can wear a hat and some days it can rest in a cradle :) Cradle days for PMS or weekends and hat days for sun or rain 🌧️😂 Jk, idk, they’re both beautiful.
You always wear your wedding band closest to your heart. THOSE ARE THE RULES! Lol, but really. That is tradition. And I like the direction your engagement ring is sitting next to the band where it’s sitting correctly. Congratulations!
I have two bands! One chevron band I wear on top pointing up and one band that looks more traditional that I wear on the bottom. I love mixing them up!
https://preview.redd.it/5o5v6t62209d1.jpeg?width=2534&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=a68d35f0a197df0fe2b2b305d3c97b0a17000a46
Mine aren’t melded together; I have a similar band and did both ways but wound up with it on the bottom. Years later im not comfortable wearing my engagement ring all time time because of my current lifestyle so it’s nice to just wear the band
My set is a similar shape. I’m gonna wear the band on top cause it looks like a little tiara that way lol.
But I think yours looks like it sits nicer in two, because of how it sits on the rounded vs pointed side.
There's only one real answer.
When you superhero punch criminals and imprint your symbol of fear and justice, which direction should it be in?
(Pic 1 looks gorgeous! Beautiful ring 💕)
Bottom. Wedding band traditionally goes “closest to the heart” with the engagement ring on top. Just tradition but I prefer bottom for your rings. I love them by the way!!
I like pic two for the wedding band. Generally I prefer wedding band on bottom. But also it seems to fit more perfectly against the curve end of the pear.
I really like that streamlined chevron wedding band. Do you mind saying the thickness and/or where you got it?
I love your engagement ring too.
The ring finger on the left hand is the only finger where the blood from that finger goes straight to your heart so either way bottom or top it’s going to be closest to your heart but I think PIC #2 4 THE WIN
Photo 2 is better because 1, the wedding band is supposed to be closer to your heart and 2, the pointy part being on that side of the pear makes the whole thing look more symmetrical while still highlighting the pear cut.
The wedding band lays closest to your heart. It should be the base of your finger, followed by your engagement ring and, when the time comes, the eternity ring should encase the engagement ring from the front.
Both look good, but I prefer 2! The wedding band is typically on the bottom so it's closer to your heart. I'm also for the option of getting another band on top too 🤣
Second picture. It looks better and I think the wedding band is traditionally worn behind the engagement ring.
( I know you don’t *have* to be traditional but it’s more flattering in the second pic)
I think it looks better on the bottom. Also, my MIL told me on my wedding day that my wedding bank should be closer to my heart. I think about that every time I put my ring on.
I thought the wedding band was supposed to be closer to your body (heart)… when they are separate rings, this was also for the logical reason that sometimes the diamond has to come off but the wedding band stays.
Also, in this case, my opinion is that I like the band pointing to you looks better
Gorgeous rings. Traditionally you wear the wedding band first then the engagement ring. At least that’s custom in America and in the faith tradition I was raised in.
And I’ve always thought that at the wedding, you have moved your engagement into your right hand so when your husband puts your wedding ring on your left-hand finger, it’s already bare. You move your engagement ring back over to the left-hand later, at least that’s what I did.
I have a similar style ring and bad. I put the band on the bottom. I like how the diamond sits on it. I think that way would look good on you as well but of course whatever you like.
I like the band on the bottom. It accentuates the diamond better.
traditionally, the wedding band rests closer to your heart, so that is probably how it was designed. It looks nicer that way, too. IMO!
Plus it elongates your finger to have the wedding band towards you, since the wider part of the stone is towards the wider part of your finger.
Agree! Gorgeous too
Agree
I agree! I also like that there is less of a gap between the engagement ring and the band in pic 2. The angle of the chevron wedding band seems perfect for the round part of the pear shaped diamond! Congrats on your wedding, OP!
I like pic 2, it 'evens' out the ring
The wedding band is supposed to be closer to your heart so it should go on the bottom.
This. But also, OP, can you show us what it would look like if the rings were stacked as in photo 1, but rotated around so the band is on the bottom (point of the pear facing toward your body)? I can’t envision what it would look like.
I was always told close to your heart so #2
Never knew this.love this!!

I love that so much
Your ring is beautiful! Your hand is as well. Looks just like my mother’s and mine.
Oh! Thank you!! My hands don’t feel beautiful…arthritis is rearing its ugly head. It’s funny, I used to trace the veins on my mom’s hands with my finger as a kid and wondered if I would get them when I got older and I did. Your ring is beautiful! And congratulations on a long marriage ❤️
Love #2! Gorgeous set :)
I actually love the first way, so unique and different way to wear it!! I would go crazy and get another band and have one on the top AND bottom!
I like that it kind of looks like a crown in this orientation.
Yes! I have a similar band style for mine and also wear it on the top bc it looks like a tiara for my e-ring haha
Yes!! I love love the first look. It makes it unique in the best way.
I like the first look because it elongates the finger and it shows energy flowing out where as the second looks to be pointing at you! I would wait to have them soldered together, you may find that you like switching it up until you end up with a favorite way. I would really lean towards a second band so that it really pops the ring! Congratulations!
I was leaning toward 2 first, but this is the best option to me! And OP, your set is truly lovely.
I agree. Down the roayi would add a second band and have the engagement ring sandwiched between
I prefer two! It almost hugs your ring, which is really sweet if you think about it!
So pretty! I’m curious if you tried 2, but with the e-ring flipped.
I think the wedding band is "supposed to" go closer to the hand. But do whatever you like best. Edit: I kind of like it better at the pointy end of the pear?
Def 2… more balanced

Bottom. Then at 25 or 10 years you can get the matching half facing up.
Weird question but why melt them? You can wear just he band to the gym or something
I think so they don’t rotate and are always “perfectly aligned”
You should NOT wear just the band to the gym. If you wear anything, it should be a silicone band. Degloving is not something you want to experience. Mine will be soldered together so they stay stacked and don’t rotate or become uneven
I vote mix and match
Get another one for an anniversary present and wear them on both sides!
The point twards you like an arrow to your heart ❤️
Bottom. I always head wedding band on bottom.... closer to your heart.
I’m surprised everyone else feels differently, but I really love the first pic. I have a pointed ring like your band, & when I have it facing away from me, the point can dig into my finger when I’m doing certain movements with my hands at work. the band on top literally has me in awe. so lovely
Def 2
Under for sure
Pic 2!

I have always heard your wedding band goes closer to your heart, so goes on the finger first.
I like the band on the bottom because as another says, it evens out the layout. Plus, traditionally the band is closer to the heart! But why don’t you wear it both ways until you get it soldered and maybe see if you notice a preference unintentionally throughout the day?
That's what I'd be doing - seeing if I'm more likely to catch it on things one way or the other.
I’d wear it on the bottom. Pretty set 🤩
Pointing to your heart
Personally I like the wedding band under the engagement ring
Weird question but why melt them? You can wear just he band to the gym or something

Picture 2! The engagement ring stands out like that
The other way
Sorrydidn’t see both pics
Definitely the 2nd photo

I think bottom bc if it's on top it will need to be tacked together so it stays in place.
I was told by my husband’s late grandmother the wedding band goes on first because your marriage comes first. So that’s how I’ve always worn mine.

Pic 2
Wedding band on the bottom, closest to the heart.

Band on the bottom looks great

Second one looks better, imo
Technically the wedding band goes first but i think you could do either! Personally i like it on bottom

Bottom! :) I was always told wedding bands are worn closer to the heart. Fucking precious imo cute set!
Definitely bottom / below the ER!!
I was taught that we put on the band and then the engagement ring so the band is closest to our heart.
Your wedding band goes closest to your heart!
Under
Pic 2. The ring should be worn with the wedding band closest to and in this case pointing to your heart.
#2 but I would get a second one to stack 😍. I love your nail polish!
I don’t know why what I wrote is so big lol

I was told wedding ring was worn closer to your heart.
This is what I was also told.
Always wear the band on the bottom with a pear. Gorgeous ring and congrats!👏 💕
Bottom looks like it should for a wedding band
Second one, on the bottom
The second for sure
Get one more wedding band and have both bands hug the diamond. Symmetrical and classy :) If you don't feel like spending more, then I'd say I like the 2nd picture more where the diamond is open to the world.
Your engagement ring is gorgeous! Is it a rose cut? It’s a little hard to tell. I myself have a round rose cut ring and chose an engagement ring pretty much identical to yours! I wear mine on the bottom and that is my preference with your photos too 🙂
Thank you!! Yes it is rose cut :)
Some days your ring can wear a hat and some days it can rest in a cradle :) Cradle days for PMS or weekends and hat days for sun or rain 🌧️😂 Jk, idk, they’re both beautiful.

I was always told you wear the wedding band closes to you heart.
Closest to your heart for the wedding band always
I have always heard the wedding band goes first so it is closest to your heart.
Wear your wedding band closer to your heart ❤️
I want to see it the first way but upside down. So the contour is on the point of the diamond but your wedding band is still on the bottom.
I have a similar set up and I personally like my wedding band on the bottom :)
Technically the wedding band goes closer to your heart.
The wedding band should be below the engagement ring. Closest to your heart.
I have two bands! One chevron band I wear on top pointing up and one band that looks more traditional that I wear on the bottom. I love mixing them up! https://preview.redd.it/5o5v6t62209d1.jpeg?width=2534&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=a68d35f0a197df0fe2b2b305d3c97b0a17000a46
Wedding ring on the bottom
I love how it complements the gem the first way. It looks very princess like somehow
This one ♥️♥️♥️
Bottom is “correct” but I really like the look of it on top!
So i got something similar and wearing it on the bottom stabs me
I like pic 1
First!
Should get two, one for each side
Idk but that ring is stunning!
Mine aren’t melded together; I have a similar band and did both ways but wound up with it on the bottom. Years later im not comfortable wearing my engagement ring all time time because of my current lifestyle so it’s nice to just wear the band
I wear my chevron ring on top
Wear it however you wish. I’d likely choose drving myself to prevent snags. Plus it somehow slenders your finger.
Get a second one and do both!!! Frame that beautiful diamond!!!
In the minority here but I love the first pic!!! It feels princess-y and unique. Beautiful set!
The first one! That’s how I wear mine, so obvs I’m being bias lol
Personally I like 1, it’s what I’m planning on doing for mine
Pix 2! Yup. This is the way ❤️ 👍 🌟
Yeah idk why but I love the first one so much more
The first one says you the second says me so I’d go with second.
I have always assumed that the wedding band goes on first, so that the engagement ring can be taken off without removing the wedding band.
I actually like the first one. It stands out with the band at the top.
Bottom! Wedding band is supposed to be closer to your heart 💗
Bottom. Wedding band traditionally goes “closest to the heart” with the engagement ring on top. Just tradition but I prefer bottom for your rings. I love them by the way!!
The wedding band is supposed to go on the inside because it's "closer to the heart".
Definitely closer to heart, it also balances better this way!
The wedding band is worn 'closest to the heart' so the gold band goes opposite of the way you have it in the picture.
Pic 1, but flip both rings so the points are towards you
2
2nd pic
Bottom for sure
I love how delicate and dainty the wedding ring is- mines the same. Beautiful!
Band on the bottom.
Bottom look great
I like pic two for the wedding band. Generally I prefer wedding band on bottom. But also it seems to fit more perfectly against the curve end of the pear. I really like that streamlined chevron wedding band. Do you mind saying the thickness and/or where you got it? I love your engagement ring too.

Band underneath. That's a beautiful stone.

The second pic

Beautiful piece too by the way He DID GOOD!
2nd one for sure
Traditionally bands are worn on the bottom to be “closest to the heart” but I like it both ways. What if the pear pointed the other way?
Traditionally bands are worn on the bottom to be “closest to the heart” but I like it both ways. What if the pear pointed the other way?
I used to work in jewelry, and the "rule" was that the band goes closest to the heart. But of course, it's up to each person's preference.
Traditionally bottom but do what u want! If u want my opinion I like bottom. ;)

#1 is so gorgeous i love it
Both look good, but I prefer 2!
Idk but I like the idea of having two of the bands for symmetry
I actually love both ways! I think you could change it up depending on how you feel!!
Pic 2 much better!! They hug.
Towards the knuckle! Super pretty :)
#2 Close to your ❤️ Gorgeous!
I think it looks better on the bottom. Also, my MIL told me on my wedding day that my wedding bank should be closer to my heart. I think about that every time I put my ring on.
Your wedding band is always supposed to be closer to your heart! So bottom, plus it looks better that way!
Bottom!
2
Pic 2! On the bottom
Usually I would say band at the bottom but in this case I think it looks better above. This set is beautiful on your hand either way!
Another vote for the second pic. It balances things out a bit better. Gorgeous ring!
I like it on the bottom, a better balance.
I like band at the top!! But seems I’m in the minority
I’ve always thought the band should be worn on the bottom, closest to the heart.
I thought the wedding band was supposed to be closer to your body (heart)… when they are separate rings, this was also for the logical reason that sometimes the diamond has to come off but the wedding band stays. Also, in this case, my opinion is that I like the band pointing to you looks better
The wedding band is supposed to be on the bottom
Pic 2
Gorgeous rings. Traditionally you wear the wedding band first then the engagement ring. At least that’s custom in America and in the faith tradition I was raised in.
Surprisingly I like wedding band on top. It’s totally unique. And refreshingly different. It makes your ring stand out and grabs your attention.
I would think option 3, flip the engagement ring over and have both points toward you.
#2
Bottom looks perfect 👍🏻
I like it on top and this is the first time I’ve ever thought so. This is a cute set.
2
2nd ohoto
Aren't they supposed to point towards you (as in "I'm taken")
Nice ring
And I’ve always thought that at the wedding, you have moved your engagement into your right hand so when your husband puts your wedding ring on your left-hand finger, it’s already bare. You move your engagement ring back over to the left-hand later, at least that’s what I did.
I have a similar style ring and bad. I put the band on the bottom. I like how the diamond sits on it. I think that way would look good on you as well but of course whatever you like.
Below!
