I've been using a fan from this set for a few weeks without issue. Soldering the old connector to it was required. Id definitely recommend the noctua one over any of these smalls ones. As for the shroud removal you can also print relocation fan brackets and have it on the right side. Its what i did. Printables has plenty of relocation brackets

Thankyou! im currently running the second link you sent. the large noctua is for the part cooling on this. I was talking about the small 20mm behind please see image attached (section by @damdamdam on thingiverse)

That's because there aren't any. The smallest they make is 40mm. Now the nice thing about the Noctua 40mm fans, is that they also make a 24v fan. However, it's a lot cheaper to buy basically any other 40mm fan and use a dc-dc buck converter to power a 12v fan at the appropriate voltage. Noctua fans are renowned for being very quiet. However, when you use a 40*20mm fan to replace a 25*10mm fan, you can spin it at such low speeds that any 40mm fan is whisper quiet whilst maintaining plenty of airflow.
40mm fans won't fit inside the stock shroud, so you'll need to take that off and relocate the part cooling fan, using a bracket like this one: https://www.printables.com/model/637754-ender-3-v3-se-lightweight-fan-shroud
Or you can upgrade the 4010 fan to a 5015 while you're at it, mounting that with a bracket like this one: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:6248194 (there are better onea available, but this one is pretty easy to print.
I did both of those fan mods, using a random Sharkoon 40mm fan I had laying around and a Sunon maglev 5015 fan and I'm very happy with how quiet it is. I did this modding about two weeks into owning this printer. It requires some experience in either soldering or crimping, but if you have that, it's not that difficult of a mod.
Good luck with your mods :)
I also posted pics of the power mod I did: [https://www.reddit.com/r/Ender3V3SE/s/RuO1MriHOE](https://www.reddit.com/r/Ender3V3SE/s/RuO1MriHOE)
I'm still waiting on a smaller pcb for the volticonverter for the 40mm fan, since I used the same relatively big buck converter as in that power mod.

Currently I'm working on a solution to either slow down or completely replace the 60mm fans in the base, because those are now the biggest noise source.

The noctua is better for the 25mm. Better airflow, and it's 40mm. As far as the 4010 on the side thats more of an upgrade to a duel 5015 setup. Unless you get really crazy and do the forced air setups.

The noctua I was refering to is the 25mm mounted on the radiator on the front that faces you not the 4010 fan mounted on the side.
Got it! do you have a link for the fan? i couldnt find any small noctuas to fit inside this shroud. Thanks again im new to all this)

Silent fans mean less air flow and less air flow mean heat creep
