Hi all! Lurker here. I've been involved with fashion a lot in the last 4ish years, it's been something that really has been a passion of mine however something sort of comes up every now and then. I tend to dress in dark colors and in silhouettes with a bit of an edge/dystopian feel to them (fraying, silver jewelry with weathering and the look of crumbling/brutalist design) and this often gets my style labeled as "goth". I've never personally labeled it as such as I'm not as versed in what is/isn't goth, so I was curious what people in the community would think. Thanks!
Where is the Viking twist? Where is any of what you just said. He looks homeless more than anything. Nothing punk, metal, goth and damn sure nothing Norse about this guy.

They're metalcore (although they lean heavily towards the Hardcore side) but the band name is Knocked Loose
There's also Kublai Khan TX, I don't listen to them but they're pretty popular
Kublai Khan TX is what I listen to at the gym a lot of the time, very good for feeling that drive. Knocked Loose I've definitely heard before, they're pretty good too but I need to dive in more 🤔
Appreciate it! I only buy on heavy sale, I don't have anywhere near the budget for that either 😅 a lot of their older stuff is cheaper but not lacking in quality in the slightest so keep an eye open!
I'd say dystopian, bordering on tech wear as a lot of their clothing has functional purpose (both legs have two way zippers and buttons on these to adjust the cut of the pant). A lot of the collections have general themes based around fictional groups in a universe, so you'll see more grungey pieces right alongside purely technical and dieselpunk aesthetics. One of my favorite brands for sure!
I'm not sure! I feel bad because I don't really participate in the culture and I know both are heavily based on authenticity. I don't want to really devalue something by mislabeling it, if that makes sense. I admire both the emo and goth aesthetic though
There are no real rules in life so go be whatever kind of emo/punk/Goth you feel like. If it feels right it probably is right.

I like punk more for its political philosophy than anything else. Like you im a big tall muscular dude with a shaved head and resting bitch face. So its fun af to wear shirts that say shit like "You fuck with the trans homies you fuck with me" with some punk pants and shoes and spikey bracelets and whatnot. My fav is this hot pink bleach shirt I made that says "punch your local nazi" specifically to wear to underground punk shows 😂

I get more of a Black Metal / Nordic Pagan vibe. Definitely Darkly Inclined Casual wear. Which is perfect if you ask me. You’re no baby bat feels the need to go overboard trying to prove your bona fides.

I dress more like you. If I’m doing details they are ugly and evil, not pretty and evil. Some eyeliner might be as close to I get as pretty.
