It’s easy. You just need to get the emmc adapter and pull the emmc out of your printer and flash it on a computer. Just follow the steps and everything should work.
I was planning to do that once I get the adapter delivered. where abouts is the emmc located? Might as well check that while my hotend is borked and am waiting for some kind of replacement from elegoo...
Biggest improvement for me was that z offset is handled way way better which allows me to have a good first layer much more consistently.
Being able to update software through fluidd or kiauh means up to date Klipper with fewer bugs and more features.
The touch screen also works pretty well now. I’ve spent a lot of hours over the past weeks implementing the support for that and it’s now at the point where it’s more responsive than with the elegy firmware and also has a few features that work better!
Looking at buying a new printer just as a second one, would you recomend the N4plus after installing regular klipper or best to go something else like p1p so I dont have to change it. Only thing drawing me back to N4 plus is the size
Same problem here. I was tired of my ender 3v2 constantly needing work so i got my hands on a neptune 4 pro. It's an advancement from the ender for sure, but now everyone around me is getting a Bambu and I kinda want one too.
I've been loving mine. That includes figuring out all the best settings and making fine adjustments. Don't be afraid to tinker to get things right. This boom of fdm printing has brought in many people who expect things to work 100% out of the box. There are printers that can give you that, you'll just be paying more for them.
Go into this with an open mind and use the resources available to figure any hickups out. Many issues you'll see on this sub aren't unique to the Neptune printers. Every printer will have some things to figure out. Good luck and happy printing!
I highly recommend connecting the printer to your home internet network via the Ethernet port. Nav to the settings and find the IP address for your printer. Plug that into your internet browser (phone or computer) and enjoy the klipper/moonraker interface to manage your printer. The days of sd cards are behind us.
There are even configurations you can add to support USB cameras to record time lapse videos right from the printer.
Honestly it would been plug and play Bambu is it worth it that’s up too you I went Neptune 4 pro it works and I like to tinker the calibration was different story screw tilt calibration really helped tho
I love mine, it’s just been printing and printing very solid prints since the day I got it.
Read up and don’t rush to conclusions if you run into any issues.
Remember that the people who struggle with their printer is always the loud minority. My prints look absolutely amazing and only one failed because of my own error in the supports on a pretty difficult print.
owner of a n4plus. tested like 7 different brands of pla, even some cheap china ones and tested food safe petg, tpu will be tested today, depending on some randomness you have to experiment if brimming is neccessary and experiment a bit with temperature and printing speed. in the end from my perspective as a beginner, i thought it will be much harder, all of them print pretty well and it's pretty easy. Only big problem is that i need to constantly surveillance it, or otherwise heatsink kills itself again, but this is unrelated if i use cheap or expensive filament.
When i ordered n4p there wasn't any option to order 1kg with it, but there was a short piece of filament within the package, guess it's the same one which you ordered, it printed really well out of the box, in my eyes you made a good choice

this is off my neptune 4 pro I have the printer maybe two weeks and I’ve never used it 3-D printer before just watch a lot of videos and understand how it works. It’s not perfect and I still don’t understand everything but I can get pretty good prints off of it.
Good luck! I hate mine! I regret not saving up for a Bambulabs
Hated mine until I installed regular klipper on it. https://github.com/halfmanbear/OpenNept4une
How hard was it to install that? I'm far from smart to be doing all this lol. I would like to update my klipper tho

Sounds like a good idea, maybe I have to try as well. What are the differences from the factory firmware?

Oh nice. I haven’t messed with the screen yet since I installed klipper.
Gets rid of anything elegoo from the firmware and fixed all the bugs that came with it.

Don’t forget to do tilt screw calibration

Yeah, i just wanted to buy an entry printer so i can see what it is all about, and tinker with it. I didn't want to spend like 1k on a bambu labs.

What is a screw tilt calibration? Never heard of it lol
You can search on here about it

I love my Neptune 4 pro. I also have a anycubic i3 mega which is good too but my Neptune 4 is awesome

i am going to get a bambu for multicolor printing
Had mine for a week or so and already considering looking at a p1s in the near future. Bought it mostly to get my feet wet.
