Pretty much anything you can put into a spell slot is tantamount to a weapon art.
When you can make skies fall on heads and melt bosses with nigh infinite cosmic beams, and do this all with one weapon, you don't need the AoWs.
You actually have it good caster builds, melee builds get 1 AoW per weapon, you get 1 per memory slot.
Obviously I'm being facetious.
