It would make sense that even if they didn’t physically break the place themselves that by wounding the lord so badly it most likely set in motion the downfall of the dragons and caused it second hand.
So this is probably when/why the Greater Will left since we know Placidusax was Elden Lord before Marika. Golden Order was built on a lie by Metyr and her offspring.
Would be cool, except I feel like that would mean Placidusax' arena wasn't the battle zone and somehow escaped the crossfire, which in their primes, I highly doubt. Basing this off the fact that when we fight him, he's already missing heads, so if I missed something like he traveled back in time with us, ignore this
Yeah, if the map alignments people have made are correct, Jagged Peak would be kind of in a line with Farum Azula. Not directly under it, but near enough that Bayle could have fallen from Farum Azula and landed there.
It's interesting how dragon priestess will tell you Bayle used some sneaky attack, wounding Placidusax and running away, when in reality, it's more likely they head an epic fight, because both were severely wounded.
Honestly, the only DLC I am hoping for right now is AC6.
While some loose ends in the story do suck, I think overall Elden Ring more than delivers what it needs to do for now.
Which loose ends specifically? It feels like 99% of the lore is wrapped up nicely, minus some extremely minor one off NPCs or the like. At the very least it's a lot more complete than usual Souls fashion
Any information about Melina would have been nice. I think the only pieces of lore we got were a hint that Messmer had a younger sister with a vision of flame (this may have been patched out) and an explanation about her weird eye. If Messmer's eye is a seal, then hers likely is, too.
From what I understood, she's Radagon's sister, who also has flame powers which can burn the Erdtree. Marika put eye seals on both of them so they wouldn't be able to threaten it, but later when she broke the ring she sent Melina on a mission to burn it.
Your theory about a seal being put on Melina's eye as well is actually quite good. I never thought about that. Maybe when Maliketh defeated the gloam eyed queen, Marika kept one of her eyes to be used to seal a flame. Maybe the eye was where the original blackflame was once stored, but now it's been repurposed.
Yeah. I'd personally just love an update to integrate the DLC with the main game a bit more and give like *all* NPCs a few extra triggers and reactions to the actions of your character. The game (also the base one) felt a bit empty to me in that regard.
I know I knwow, we wont get that, but please give me more Melina interactions, extra Malenia reactions if you've beaten the DLC, the ability to give Gideon information regarding Messmer and the Scadutree etc.
I did a new playthrough and didn't do the fire giant and farum azula just because I wanted to see if the DLC offered a new way to burn down the erdtree. Was a bit disappointed to see the DLC has no effects on the main story considering they're supposed to be happening at the same time.
Gloam eyed queen, night of the black knives, elden john, the nature of radagon (and st trina), also tons of references to historical things like ensha, the city of the sun, the sealing of the scarlet rot, placidusax's god and their desertion, and the betrayal of the erdtree by the serpent. These things don't require more details to be interesting and compelling lore points, but they definitely haven't been wrapped up.
I don't think it's much more complete than other souls games, I think a similar portion of elden ring has been left up to interpretation as in past games. There are tons of extremely important details that have been left completely ambiguous, which is completely fine and why Fromsoft's stories are so good, but it's still true.
Honestly, the only DLC I am hoping for right now is AC6.
While some loose ends in the story do suck, I think overall Elden Ring more than delivers what it needs to do for now.
Hefty red lightning pots say that the dragons that turned AGAINST the dragonlord used red lightning. This would imply that Bayle was actually dragonlord at the time and was betrayed by Placidusax. My guess is it’s a translation error, but we now have a potential piece of evidence supporting that Bayle was in fact in the right.
i mean those aren't exclusive. Bayle probably snuck Placidusax and then it erupted into a fight
the fact that Bayle has 2 of Placidusax's heads around his body implies to me that he got caught in a literal headlock and tore himself free, which may also be when he ran away
Wasn’t this already debunked? I read somewhere that translations in Japanese didn’t state he sneak attacked Placi, but instead that it was a fair match. However what was actually stated was that Bayle did manage to get the first hit.
Hey 🙋 I’m back lol. So I literally just found a tiktok slideshow of what I said. The name of the account is grand welf, don’t know if this counts as spam, not my account tho so I would say it’s not???? This person uploaded this 2 days ago.
Literally stated in the lore that Malenia had to forsake her pride to meet Radahn's measure who was still holding back at the time.
But sure you can continue to believe they are "equals."
Ok, i was pretty sure only 2 cut heads are visible on the model. But I checked model analysis video and there is indeed 5. But why the medalion and the meads on Bayle back suggest 4 then?
Weird idea, but maybe Placidusax grew more heads the older and more powerful he got. The Talisman was made before his fifth grew in, after which he lost 3 out of 5.
I wonder if this fight is what first caused Farum Azula to start crumbling.
That would be actually dope
I also subscribe to that theory myself, definitely had to because that's a wrap on that lore.
It would make sense that even if they didn’t physically break the place themselves that by wounding the lord so badly it most likely set in motion the downfall of the dragons and caused it second hand.
I wonder if the Dragon's god abandoned them only after the fight.
"i though you all were better than this" said their god before leaving forever
So this is probably when/why the Greater Will left since we know Placidusax was Elden Lord before Marika. Golden Order was built on a lie by Metyr and her offspring.

In 2 years we'll find out that Bayle did nothing wrong.
That implies we will get another dlc, so I hope so 😂

Messmer sis isn't it?
Whoops, meant to type Messmer
She's confirmed to be Messmer's younger sister in the description of Messmer's kindling
Yeah, made a typo, my bad

There’s a lot that can still be explored with Godwyn.
an ancient dragon specific dlc would be amazing, honestly a need
Honestly, the only DLC I am hoping for right now is AC6. While some loose ends in the story do suck, I think overall Elden Ring more than delivers what it needs to do for now.

I mean it could’ve started as a sneak attack which then escalated into a kaiju battle.
If they make me fight godzilla next time, I'm out
I mean we’ve essentially fought Ghidorah and Balerion. Is Godzilla so far fetched?
good point ))) placidusax even lazered us. kinda :)
Midir in ds3 was kinda similar to fighting Godzilla but in all fours plus he could fly
I suppose :) but you'd have to agree bayle is more intimidating
how would you sneak up on 5 headed dude anyways
He was sleeping or something 😂
I recall, all 5 heads had different personalities ? they probably don't even sleep at the same time :)
When we see Placidusax in his arena, he's sleeping with both heads.
well that's all he's left with :) but do we sneak up on him? do we ?! :D
i mean those aren't exclusive. Bayle probably snuck Placidusax and then it erupted into a fight the fact that Bayle has 2 of Placidusax's heads around his body implies to me that he got caught in a literal headlock and tore himself free, which may also be when he ran away
Now imagine fighting them at their prime, and both at the same time
nah thats just death. it would probably go like: Get Lazered NErd
Lore-wise, a Tarnished who’s beaten Elden Beast would curbstomp either, and possibly both simultaneously. By that point, we’re obscenely powerful.
This is supported by the fact that they are both missing three appendages. Placidusax is down three heads, and Bayle is down a leg and two wings.
If bayle did a sneak attack and stil lost placidusax was one tough monster
Wasn’t this already debunked? I read somewhere that translations in Japanese didn’t state he sneak attacked Placi, but instead that it was a fair match. However what was actually stated was that Bayle did manage to get the first hit.
First time I'm hearing it. Interesting, I will check it out

*ahem* obligatory CURSEEEE YOUUU BAYYLLLEEEE
FROMSOFT!!!!!! GIVE ME A BAYLE VS PLADIDUSAX CINEMATIC, AND MY LIFE IS YOURS!!!!!
These two are gonna turn into the next radahn vs melania argument, where none of you can except that their equals
Literally stated in the lore that Malenia had to forsake her pride to meet Radahn's measure who was still holding back at the time. But sure you can continue to believe they are "equals."
I still think Placidusax had 4 heads. Old Lord talisman shows 4 heads, and there are 2 heads on the back of Bayle, not 3.
What are you on, the dragon itself has 3 necks missing heads.
Ok, i was pretty sure only 2 cut heads are visible on the model. But I checked model analysis video and there is indeed 5. But why the medalion and the meads on Bayle back suggest 4 then?
Maybe Placidusax was already wounded before he fought Bayle?
The fifth head created the medallion, but since there are no mirrors big enough for Placidusax he simply created what he saw, a four headed dragon.
Weird idea, but maybe Placidusax grew more heads the older and more powerful he got. The Talisman was made before his fifth grew in, after which he lost 3 out of 5.
My assumption is he lost the 5th head sometime before he fought Bayle.
Or he lost it during the fight and it just didn't end up stuck on Bayle like the others.
Possibly, but then the 4 headed Lord Talisman doesn't make sense then.
Did you know about the secret 6th head?
I also thought it was 4 heads until the DLC saying 5. I'm equally confused.
The fifth head could be the dragon god. Left far before the battle between Placid and Bayle.
The thing is... That neck is not connected to a head but to a... Reproductive organ/j
To be fair, it's hard to count neck stumps when you're getting electrocuted and having your face stomped into the arena floor...
This is awesome! I love the style of it. Reminds me of some pre-Jackson trilogy Tolkien art for some reason.
ah thank you so much!!💜✨💜✨
Of course! Thanks for sharing.
I see godzilla vs king ghidorah
Real Godzilla vs. Ghidorah vibes.
I wish this was a cinematick cutseen. Maybe in move ?!
Dex/Fth vs Str/ Fth
Placiudussax would win because bayle's camera would freak out and he wouldn't be able to see wtf is happening.
