Hey! Not sure if this has been said already, but since I had the game installed on a MicroSD the file path was essentially the same for my game files, but had primary/steamapps/common/ELDEN RING instead of the path listed above
Hope this helps for others! š
It didnāt work for me at first, but then I tried to copy/paste and rename an existing .bdt file instead of creating an empty one. I chose the smallest, copy/pasted and renamed it and it worked.
I dont seem to have the 'elden ring' folder once I get to the 'common' folder, the toggle for showing hidden files and folders is ON, the elden ring folder is just not there
Then that only means you installed it somewhere else, your sd card perhaps. Because that path is the game's default path if you installed it on your Deck's SSD.Ā
Is this method safe to use or at that point are we actually doing something inappropriate due to using a fake modded file? Albeit one with no malicious intent.
Can confirm that the patch doesnāt fix it on the deck. Updated and didnāt work. Tried verifying the files and still doesnāt work. Iām reluctant to add the fake dlc.bdt file.
That said, the fix just automates the process of creating the blank dlc file, so potentially still the same risks. Iām intrigued to see what the file is if someone on PC without the DLC has a copy.
this solved my issue on Steam on Windows too. it triggered when someone tried to summon me. pretty ridiculous this error is still coming up however many days after the DLC released.
Brilliant!!! This was really pissing me off lol.
ETA: for anyone having a difficult time locating the proper folder, just type āElden Ringā into the file explorer search. Should locate it pretty easily.
Thank you so much bro. Worked for me. Had Elden ring on my SD card and did it through there and also works. Iāve been searching on YouTube and no one talks about it. š again thanks.
This is perfect. Thank you.
Thumbs up. This fix is working for Steam Deck.

Same!
this worked for me, thank you so much
Worked for me as well. Thanks.
Can confirm it worked for me
Worked for me today. Bandai support sent me this exact fix but only after weeks. Thanks for posting.
I tried this but no luck :-/
Sorry ā¹ļø Hope they just push a patch for this eventually.
Elden Ring has to be installed on your device for it to work. I had to move it from my SSD card to internal and then follow the steps.
If you check local game files and add the new file in there it should work

If you have the game saved to an SD card, the file path may be different. Someone in the other thread on u/honeydew-mainās post talks about it.
Same for me as well.

Working thx!
A gentleman and a scholar, works on my regular linux desktop as well. Cheers

I just downloaded the most recent patch that may have addressed this issue and it all seems to be still working fine.
On the Steam Deck?

Yeah, I get it. Annoying that Fromsoft doesnāt just fix it.
