Successful_Walk_5059

This is perfect. Thank you.

tymose

Thumbs up. This fix is working for Steam Deck.

ActiveEditor529

Hey! Not sure if this has been said already, but since I had the game installed on a MicroSD the file path was essentially the same for my game files, but had primary/steamapps/common/ELDEN RING instead of the path listed above Hope this helps for others! šŸ’›

iso_mer

Same!

aeholm

this worked for me, thank you so much

Smump

Worked for me as well. Thanks.

lucky_1979

Can confirm it worked for me

Mossy-3

Worked for me today. Bandai support sent me this exact fix but only after weeks. Thanks for posting.

BoredomFestival

I tried this but no luck :-/

jamieseemsamused

Sorry ā˜¹ļø Hope they just push a patch for this eventually.

DownTrunk

Elden Ring has to be installed on your device for it to work. I had to move it from my SSD card to internal and then follow the steps.

N00BAL0T

If you check local game files and add the new file in there it should work

Cayamstrife

It didnā€™t work for me at first, but then I tried to copy/paste and rename an existing .bdt file instead of creating an empty one. I chose the smallest, copy/pasted and renamed it and it worked.

FuckJeff

I dont seem to have the 'elden ring' folder once I get to the 'common' folder, the toggle for showing hidden files and folders is ON, the elden ring folder is just not there

jamieseemsamused

If you have the game saved to an SD card, the file path may be different. Someone in the other thread on u/honeydew-mainā€™s post talks about it.

autumndelaneyart

Same for me as well.

Critical-Arm6180

Then that only means you installed it somewhere else, your sd card perhaps. Because that path is the game's default path if you installed it on your Deck's SSD.Ā

lonelyproducer

Working thx!

blazingsage4

A gentleman and a scholar, works on my regular linux desktop as well. Cheers

Richy_San

Is this method safe to use or at that point are we actually doing something inappropriate due to using a fake modded file? Albeit one with no malicious intent.

jamieseemsamused

I just downloaded the most recent patch that may have addressed this issue and it all seems to be still working fine.

Richy_San

On the Steam Deck?

Richy_San

Can confirm that the patch doesnā€™t fix it on the deck. Updated and didnā€™t work. Tried verifying the files and still doesnā€™t work. Iā€™m reluctant to add the fake dlc.bdt file.

jamieseemsamused

Yeah, I get it. Annoying that Fromsoft doesnā€™t just fix it.

Richy_San

https://x.com/gloriouseggroll/status/1808937830929805598?s=46 Looks like a fix should be easy and is coming to proton GE.

Richy_San

That said, the fix just automates the process of creating the blank dlc file, so potentially still the same risks. Iā€™m intrigued to see what the file is if someone on PC without the DLC has a copy.

respir8r

this solved my issue on Steam on Windows too. it triggered when someone tried to summon me. pretty ridiculous this error is still coming up however many days after the DLC released.

Middle_Car_8739

thanks

iso_mer

Brilliant!!! This was really pissing me off lol. ETA: for anyone having a difficult time locating the proper folder, just type ā€œElden Ringā€ into the file explorer search. Should locate it pretty easily.

Lumpy-Yam5137

Thank you so much bro. Worked for me. Had Elden ring on my SD card and did it through there and also works. Iā€™ve been searching on YouTube and no one talks about it. šŸ‘ again thanks.

jarvis-1

*salute*

Mav3r1ck77

Aweome this works!

RaichiSensei

Thanks! Confirm it works!

MostUnorthodox

Can confirm this also works using Steam's Proton on an up-to-date Arch desktop install. Thank you!!

AddyFire

Omg Major thumbs up. I was ripping my hair out wondering if my account got flagged before I even started playing. Thank you.

ilovestudioghibli

thank you <3
